    Hi Bruce, thanks very much for watching. The rustier you get it, the less you'd have to clean it! Your bike has the proper gravitas of being a used bike already though of course. I sometimes see bashed up Classic & Meteor tanks going for quite cheap on ebay, could always have a go on a backup tank, job for the mancave in winter 👍

    Wow! This build just gets better and better Glyn. I wonder if it's worth trying to display it at the Bike Shed in London (or a more local equivalent) when they have their show. There are lots of expensive builds out there, but this is as good as many I've seen and on a much smaller budget. Well played sir 👏

    Well done! I’m having similar ideas and this rusty paint is the way to go. For me, instead of looking like a bike from the Titanic, I would go for a barn find look. Bits of rust in typical rusty spots. Like where the paint might have chipped or been rubbed through. More like those antiqued guitars that Fender sells.

  • @GlynOC
    @GlynOC12 сағат бұрын

    I think you must have seen my guitar collection! Now I've seen how the system works, I can see how it would be ideal for that type of mixed finish and maybe I'll try that with something else as it looks brilliant mixing the rust with existing paint. I'm surprised how easy that would have been. I am pleased with the scorched earth look though haha, go hard or go home eh 🤪 thanks for watching, Glyn

    If that's the look that you're seeking then you've absolutely nailed it. Oh yeah.. for this look, it is a very brave choice and takes a very creative mind. Perhaps most of us couldn't even imagine what kind of finish it would have as a result. Rust obviously represents decay and generally comes with thin and thick parts so pieces are ready to fall off, bend in the wind, form holes and sharp edges and this is the part I was afraid of. What you have done here is extremely beautiful, I could imagine Keanu Reeves offering you substantial amounts of dollars to prise it from your ownership 😮 It has a beautiful unstable stability about it and works so well with the black. I think you have pulled it off. Not many bikes around looking like this and can't wait to see it assembled (but will wait impatiently patient 😅) for the maximum look. What a treat, you're a great content creator and have worked so hard. The tatoos also fooled me and nice to see you playing guitar, I hope thats not a fake it looks real 😅 You have a good opening music presentation guitar intro also. I think Freebird the movie used this also. Made me laugh at the flat earthers gag 😅 In the Grand scheme of things it looks amazing but In the grand scheme of things relates to predestination and this bike build has already happened and sits proudly in the future looking spectacular and admired by a host of bearded chin scratching Enfield lovers 😅 Great job mate 👍

  • @GlynOC
    @GlynOC12 сағат бұрын

    Thanks very much for your thoughtful comment 👍 Yes, unstable stability is the right phrase. I'm looking for a strong and solid bike that looks vulnerable and just doing its best. Yes the guitar was live, thanks for noticing. I'm not sure what the neighbours thought I was doing but I expect they're used to it. I'm really looking forward to putting it all together and I think I've got everything I need ready, won't be in the next couple of weeks as I'm taking kids on holiday but will be ASAP for sure. Thanks for watching, Glyn

    Great video Glyn! Yesterday I washed the car. By the time I was finished there was a thin sheen of rust already developing on my brake discs. If I was rust where I live, I just leave it outside . That was pure entertainment factor rolling your sleeves up. Brilliant. Question, what happens when you take this out in the rain, will the rust run?

  • @GlynOC
    @GlynOC12 сағат бұрын

    Thanks very much for watching again. Apparently you're supposed to avoid washing it for a few weeks (which is fine) and then it should be pretty much set. There's a fine brown powder on it at the mo which will wash off I'm sure the first time it sees rain and it'll keep changing in some way but should stop eventually 👍 I'm looking forward to seeing what it does and knowing that I can't do much about it!
