I have 6 images on my wall of the Earth taken from different angles. One of them is just blue. The Pacific ocean. There is no visable continent and most land masses arent able to be seen with out a magnifying glass or looking for waves and clouds. I call these " the regions of the civilisations of Earth" There was once an ocean faring cukture of nomads and settlers with shared cukture languahe and beliefs, each exploiting different aspects of the environment available them. Just like we do locally. Something happened and they lost chains of contact. The Pacific's peoples histories are vast and span time and distance.

Not sure why I cry and feel intensely spiritually connected to the harmonies and chanting in these songs. All I do know is they are euphoric and make me feel happy.

Moana was the last good Disney movie. The last movie that respectfully allowed others to learn about a beautiful culture that we may not have been familiar with before. I wish they would do more of that. These songs give me goosebumps. What beautiful voices ❤

I love this version with the extra lyrics. Manaia o le tatou olaga.❤ "O malamalama o uiga o le moana We understand the ways of the ocean Va'ai i fetu ma isi failoga ( po a ia la?)" (Not clear on last lyric) We watch the stars and other markers, night or day (?) When I saw Moana I took notice of the lyrics and how the birds led the voyagers. Which is true. We noticed when certain birds came and went during the seasons. We had no seasons on the equator but we knew there were seasons elsewhere which caused the birds to come can go. And when their migration patterns changed, we took notice. That's how the Maori knew to seek out Aote'aroa. The last Polynesian island to be settled about 800 years ago. Because it rose out of the ocean and altered the migration of certain birds. One of the lyrics "manulele e tataki e" I'm sure tataki is like ta'ita'i in Samoan, which means to lead. "The birds led us" One of the birds that migrates from North America to the South Pacific the Golden Plover, we call "tuli" in Samoa...tuli means to chase. Tuli is also a son of the god Tagaloa in some legends in Samoa.
