Respect to our beloved most favorite group, Te Vaka for representing the entire pacific islands. No matter where we are and who we are, our love and bond runs deeper than we show it! this song may have not connected me to my roots but I sure damn did enjoy and love the hard work and dedication put into at least telling a piece of the story from their experience. It isn't often that us tokelauans are recognized, but they have always found a way to share each story as they travel and meet aigas. I'm very pleased and happy listening to all albums by Te Vaka. The connection with each song is what brings me closer to where I came from, but also makes me appreciate the people around me, how I was raised culturally, the story even with my ancestry and background. Through my bloodline, I stand proud to be mixed of each and every kind of Polynesian including being a Virgin Islander to being a German. It's a blessing to carry it all in me and where it began! Speaking all languages since 4 (not fluent in all but mostly in tokelauan and Samoan) the appreciation through this video though, thank you Te Vaka and those who were able to be a part of the team to bring this film together! #SukaBloodline #TuiTokelau🇹🇰🇹🇰🇹🇰💙

@@josepiscano2757 seriously, you sounded like those "All lives matter" people. Why would you comment something like that when the original comment was specifically about Pacific Islanders who are already underrepresented as is? We are minorities amongst minorities. The Austronesian connection is a recent discovery but none of the Pacific Islands countries' oral histories or traditions have ties to our Asian forebears or mentions travel back westward towards Africa (Madagascar). Even if we do share an ocean Southeast Asians are still not Micronesian, Melanesian or Polynesian and they have their ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) and are not a part of the Pacific Islands forum so why would we include them when we've never acknowledged our ties from millenia ago? That'd be like asking why Europeans are not included when western countries with a large white population like America and Australia do things.
I really love that Te Vaka is getting their due praises, and that Polynesian/Pacific Islander culture is getting honored and respected. All of our cultures have joys to share, and the more I see people from all over the world celebrating international beauty like this song and video, recognizing ourselves (or at least the joy within ourselves if nothing else) and being appreciative of our variations in life, the more I gain a wee bit of hope that maybe the human race can get it together after all. Hope, not confidence, but hope is something! :D

in the middle of the chaos of the virus and losing my job here in late 2020 i have been surprised to find comfort in the music from both the African and Polynesian people and cultures. this music, it feels so vibrant and rich with life that im finding my own Italian background to be downright stuffy and dull in comparison.
LaKa..KaLaKa..... 🎶 is AWSOME ... PHRASE.... NEVER TO FORGET..... 🇹🇴
J'aime trop cette musique 💖💗💓💖💖
Tellement de souvenirs avec mon amie tahitienne. ❤️
My favorite part, near the beginning, when the drummers just cast their sticks to the side, as if to say, "Okay, you go, girl!" Except in other songs, like, "We know the way," you can tell they're carrying the entire rythm. Like, they kick in and everyone starts to groove.
Its so wonderful too see a hula dancer!!!!! I have been waiting for this!!!
Hawaii, Samoa, New Zealand and Fiji ❤ SHOUTOUT TO ALL THE ISLANDS #PolyLove #OneLove
This is amazing I love it and it shows our heritage
Anyone in 2019??..I surely love Te Vaka..the songs&dances its really beautiful.Im proud of this one when Fiji is featured in it.Respect for you and my pacific brothers&sisters.GodBless us all

@@lazer8961 it's there because it features Polynesian cultures And Fiji culture is nothing like other melanesian culture's it's Polynesian
Soy de Guatemala, y honestamente, no comprendo el lenguaje de Samoa. Pero disfruto mucho la música de Te Vaka. Creo que es genial la cultura y creatividad que tienen.
I am continually amazed at the diverse cultures we enjoy on Spaceship Earth!!! Thank you!
