Dr. Gupta is such a gem of a human being … of service to mankind. It is a real pleasure listening to these outstanding souls candidly talk about their transition into neurosurgery and what it meant to them throughout time. It’s not everyday two people speak so articulately about something so interesting. Gratitude!!!

IONM Tech here, thanks for this! We don't always have the best view of procedures in progress so this really helps with planning for things like MEPs for the procedure.

The limbic system is the seat of most of our animalistic behaviours. You can retrain the brain to use more of the neocortex. The brain's ability to adjust is called neuroplasticity.

I’m currently a lawyer, but I grew up wanting to be a neurosurgeon. After graduating from a great law school and experiencing my fair share of hardship, my respect for these professionals has gone through the roof. I graduated with a chemistry minor, but that was originally my major. After sitting in on some medical school courses, I realized that my passion was not on par with the difficulty nor dedication required to get through such a curriculum. Within a month, I switched to a pre-law path. Got into every school I wanted to and was awarded a scholarship. Wrote for the law review. Clerked with great judges and got a great job within 6 months of completing my JD. I was a solid law student, and I couldn’t dream of having the intellect of these people. Neurosurgeons, to me, are only below God himself. They are Demi-gods and superheroes.

It would be helpful if someone could re-do the narrative and cut out the blaring music episodes. Half of this valuable historical piece is incomprehensible as it is now.
