Just a thought could you use stainless ball bearings instead so corrosion would be negligible?
It’s almost bitter sweet to is play the original song.
welches ist der Originalsong?
I will never understand the idea of wanting to travel around with this machine. That seems like such an arbitrary requirement. Why would you want to travel with what should be a stationary Piece of mechanical art.
Feature creep and the desire for perfection killed the MMx. The popularity of the first one was due to the crudeness of it making music. It didn’t have to be perfect.
The need contact microphones
I mean to be fair, they weren't holding the dampers off the vibraphone, so there wasn't as much resonance as there should have been.
Dazn premier league
Engine under the cardboard is not such good idea😅
Springtrap
Why Germans always sound like robots?
Jawohl
He’s a good musician - which is what he should stick to doing. The machine sucks, his mental anguish is boring and his attempts at philosophy are laughable. Just get the band back together and make music Martin - it’s what you’re best at.
Vinegar removes rust from steel. Then oil them again
it is not working that makes so sad.....
I admire those ambitious young team members to set up everything. Bravo.
Three words; Stainless Steel Marbles.
Ball bearings have oil on them from manufacturing process. They are tons of funto play with the sound they make when banged togetherbetter than glass marbles.
You urgently need to patent your musical instrument
Put the marbles into Fensterreiniger, afterwards heat them within an ofen to dry them (I use the microwave drying glas vases with heating them).
4:43 Or use Isopropyl instead of water to wash them. Of course, they'll rust rather sooner than later without the oil coat. So, I would suggest nickle plating them.
I didn’t knew you did crappie-diy-life-hack-you-don’t-believe-what-he-make-with-these-8-bolts-videos…
its not sad but the marble machine takes on so much personality with the final song. like its struggling to remember ::3. poor baby..
They are doing what Martin Should be doing
A lot of junk for almost no Musik at all
Now you know just a fraction of what scientists have to deal with when it comes to the goal of cell creation; cells are many, many many times more complex than this machine, and yet people still insist it happened by chance...
Problems alone don't bother me much, but the overall direction looks very wrong. He had a machine that was nice, but too loud, unreliable, unsynchronized, and unfit for a tour. So he builds a bigger one. And again. Every single one of those problems becomes worse at scale. Success lies in the opposite direction.
the original machine couldnt play a single song not a least 30 seconds straight
Dragon Skin (available from Smooth-On & Amazon) silicon would be a far more durable material than latex for the vibraphone pads. Good to see the Marble Machine X community coming together to make this performance a reality, well done and thank you to the entire team.
😢 unfortunately, I could not hear the song as l remembered it.
One I restored in the 1970s...still sounds great after all these years!
6:14 Bitluni?
Yes, and he plans to be there this year as well.
Awsome! wish I could have made it
I think I missed the part where it performed live?
there is a reason it cant play for shit without screwing up and dropping marbles. everyone other than martin has been disassembling and reassembling it off and on and taking things off and tweaking things so of course its not going to be like martin had it, even he may not be able to return it to its former glory. sometimes things are just a 1 off work and if someone screws with it too much its lost forever.
leider schlechter Sound, nach der Arbeit hättet ihr besseres verdient, große Leistung 😂
lass die Kugeln vernickeln.....
that didn't sound anything like the marble machine song.
Demonstrates how well edited the video of the first Marble Machine was, and neither that or the MMX was anywhere near going on any tour. The aestetics of the machine is great and it was no doubt a great and fun project for Martin, but it is so clear why he had to abandon this version and focus on something more reliable. I see he went to the polar opposite in the start of his new project, making it reliable tech before aestetics, but has eventually found back that the machine needs some aestetics too. The videos of Martin making the MMX was entertaining because of this focus on also making it look cool, but alas it became too cool without actually working well. Let's hope he finds a good compromise, and no doubt that he can spice his videos with great music which the first videos were so full of and make us "believe". :)
Do you wind up having to 3D print some of the parts, or do you think that's cheating
Where are you located? Germany?
These guys' dads invented the DSG gearbox!
Why not use stainless marbles so that they don't require oil?
The lifting mechanism on MMX is using magnets.
@@Musikkabinett okay? Most stainless steel is still magnetic. Just depends on which composition you use.
Bearings with a chrome finish would have solved the rust issue right away without compromise
This is one of those things that just keeps evolving and who knows where it's going to end up
martin probably shouldnt have given up, but at least he gets royalties right? hes not getting ripped off after doing all the work , right?
Everybody wants to be a Rock Star.
It sad most of this video is sarcastic criticism, anyone can pick funny of someone else's work, but I can't find work they have done. Keep milking other people's work for youtube points....
Maybe consider watching the eight episodes that were uploaded before this one. There you can find the results of all the hard work our volunteers have done.
@Musikkabinett I have watched many. They are a lot of vindictive undertones. This is an ongoing trend in youtube.
@@Timelord27 Work WHO has done? The YT commenters? Just because people and commenters aren’t chasing YT fame, doesn’t mean they haven’t accomplished:created A LOT in life…
Martin had to stop MMX development or his channel would have ended.
Way to go brother you designed it for the road size
