    It is a vintage air set up. The factory compressor for FWD doesn’t fit for motor mounts for k member. Used a vortec supercharger pulley and modified it to fit factory pulley. Strictly size fitmet adaptation.

  • @basikbiker

    which pulley specifically did you use? im workin on swapping a built 2.0 into my truck and need to run somthing like that for a power steering pump

    Can you explain the installation of the AC compressor. That looks like an old school compressor with a pulley extension attached to the balancer. Can you elaborate on that?

    William, you'll have to notch the firewall to clear the external fuel pump and vacuum pump. Custom motor mounts. Will need a transmission mount modification. Depending on your transmission may need to customize driveshaft. You'll also need the Ford control pack for engine management. Any other questions?

    @@McLearranMotorsports do you need a custom flywheel to mated to a t-5/tko or can you use the flywheel that comes on the ecoboost

  • @McLearranMotorsports
    @McLearranMotorsports5 жыл бұрын

    Ahlte, you can use the stock eco boost flywheel and flexplate. Just need to change out the clutch plate. 9.5in 10 spline to mate with the t5 input shaft.

    Efrain, it is a modified stock k member just for oil pan clearance. There wasn't an aftermarket option for the ecoboost at the time of our swap.

    Just4banger, sorry you don't like our build. We built the car for a daily driver and at the time did not have an SVO motor. Thought a meld of old and new for fuel economy and an increase over stock HP was the perfect fit for us. If you need another 2.3 SVO engine you would like to build we have 2 now you could buy from us. Thanks for watching!

    to everyone commenting - im doing a 2.0 swap into a 2002 2.3 ranger. the stock 5 speed ranger trans bolts directly to a 2.0/2.3 ecoboost. if u swap this into a ranger you will need to modify the firewall. the cam driven high pressure fuel pump and vaccum pump on the back of the motor hits right on the firewall. the driverside motor mount bolts right up. the passenger side mount needs to be modified. you're welcome.

  • @McLearranMotorsports

    Okay, so the 2.0l has a not so nice looking boss for the front engine boss when installed for it's originally intended Focus ST. The bar is our way of masking the mount and "resembling" a brace, with no intention of it actually performing the function.

  • @McLearranMotorsports

    The 2.3L would probably be your most efficient. Oil pan, fuel line routing are better located requiring less modifications.

  • @McLearranMotorsports

    Ok Crazy, yes you should be able to drop a 2.0/2.3 right in there! Check your firewall! If it has a recess into the interior, you may not have to modify if to clear the fuel & vacuum pumps!

    Very interesting swap!...does any one remember the Pinto based Pangra from the 70's? I this 2.0L Ecoboost engine from the newer Focus ST would make a great swap with a bigger Turbo as well! I too like the Mercury Merkur xr4ti!...I think the 2015+ Mustang EcoBoost 2.3L turbo engine would be a good swap for that car as well as the SVO Mustangs of the 80's!...God Bless!

    Just to catch up from the past couple of years. Couldn't post on our own youtube! We used the 2.0l because at the time the new 2.3l didn't exist. It was introduced just after our build! Argh! Did not do a volvo head because we did not have a period 2.3l available at the time and decided to explore the modern direct injected 4 cylinder to keep true to the SVO heritage. We are running a t5 transmission, but hope to upgrade to a modern 6 speed in the future. Just autocrossed for the first time and had a blast! (Sorry no video) Fun ride. Thanks for all the interest!
