Vespa 300 is 2x as much, but that would be my go to bike over grom.
I’ve not really considered anything other than a 125 of late 🤣
Some folks in the United States claim that the gear shift issue is vastly improved with an upgraded shifter linkage and pedal. It is something to chat about on the forums or video. Thank you for the video and information.
@@heritagehillsecurity8778 thanks for jumping into the convo mate 👍 yes I’ve played with the idea of a upgrade to the shifter… hope you liked the video 💙
Onda ave it nail on ed we dis ting. The end. Scratch dat. End.
Great bikes groms
The color combo availe here in the US that I liked was highlighter yellow. It's a great bike. Now go take a long holiday on it. 🏍💨🦑
We didn’t get the yellow option over here, red, blue or grey sp… the sp you got was very nice 👌… just back from family holiday so back to work later this week I’m afraid Eric.. but a decent trip on it will be happening as soon as I get a few days to do it
A plan has been hatched to take a pair of groms on a big roadtrip/holiday next summer before the big fella goes off to university 💙
I do like the grey and gold Karl 👍gearbox met get better with a few miles on it🤔 cracking video as usual bro👌 see you on the road soon buddy 👍😎🤘
Ey up brother be good to get out for a ride and a brew soon… I’m 95.69% sure the 4 speed box is a better unit
@@NorthernMotovlog I agree but I'm biast cos mine is a 4 speed
@markshawreflections850 lovely 🤣👍
Love the yellow. Red too. Blue as well but yellow my fave on latest. 5 speed on my monkey has been fine. Coming up to 8k now. Was.nt it a tight bearing? Be sorted on new ones for sure
Ey up mate hope yer well, I got the last grey one into the country 🤣👌 the gold wheels do it for me 🤣
@@NorthernMotovlog yellow looks like a tonka toy 💛
@zedcharlie 🤣
Awesome video Dave, so what's the longest trip you would do on T' grom? Would you be able to go touring??
Cheers Phil, to be honest mate I’d have no issues going on holiday on the Grom! Same as any 125 to be fair… you can certainly adventure on one! We might certainly see a pair of groms do a decent sized trip at some point
Cheap ins, who do you use? I have two bikes on a multi bike policy with Bennets, and decided this year to change both of them.Basically big bike for me and the wife to go out. And then the fun one which currently is a crf250l. Ordered the new large bike, which unfortunatly may not arrive till October, and decided I would trade the 250 in and give the Monkey a go as the fun bike. So started looking for ins quotes. Told I cant get multi cover on a monkey, which meant cant mirror my no claims on 2nd bike and was quoted £600 to insure. Not a happy chap.
I go through Adrian Flux, I always found Bennetts ridiculous price wise.. MCE we’re ace til they went bump… good luck mate
Could you get a licence without passport ive only got a birth certificate
I’d assume so dude but don’t quote me, I wouldn’t think everyone has a passport!
Appreciate it ill have to have a look@@NorthernMotovlog
@pawel.justeat good luck dude
Yep, that takes me back a bit. Still in a 50 you said, LOL, will it go any faster than 50, maybe downhill with the wind behind you. Don't forget to blip the throttle when changing gears, a good habit to have. Cheers good video.
@peterrichards7387 Ey up mate he’s loving it.. 😀thanks for the kind words
Thanks mate, have pushed it past 50 in a 60 but the Grom only has 4 gears 😂👍
Awesomeness
Think he’s enjoying it 🤣👍
An expert tutorial 👌🏼
Don’t take my advice unless yer desperate, I’m super stupid 🤣👍
@@NorthernMotovlog sometimes it's the best way 😂😂😂
Tanks for the update Dave 👍🏼
🤣
Good yo see you got T' bike back 👍🏼
Huge video coming on that
@@NorthernMotovlog can't wait to see 👍🏼
Touring on a small bike is somehow very rewarding to me. It's good to see you out and about on the 125.
I love 125’s Eric, can have any amount of fun on one 🤣👍
Glad to be out on one, can’t wait to ride it some more!
All the sheeps mates have been eaten 😮 bike looks great Dan weather looks dodgy and you should be giving your dad a run for his money 😂😂
@@markshawreflections850 he’ll be showing me how it’s done in no time mate 🤣
Cheers monkey mark 👍
Good to see Dan The Man out on a non scooter (although scooters are cool) Just realised iv not been getting notifications for some strange reason Here's to a long and safe riding career
@@itsmephil2255 cheers Phil, it’s great getting back out with him
Thanks a lot Phil 👍
Good to see you both enjoying your whips Looking toats gangtsa
What a great shot 🥰
Cheers mate!! You out tomorrow?
@@NorthernMotovlog don't know yet bro bin out all day ont monkey, knackered 🙄🤪👍
@markshawreflections850 roads should be quieterer tomorrow coz summat on the telly box! Gonna try and take advantage on the bikes
Very arty video for sure 👍🏼
Was a pleasure riding with you fella! ✊
If I do 60kms a day for 2 weeks how will a new 50cc stand up to it? Many thanks if you can help.
Ey up hope you’re well… well in answer to your question, I reckon once it’s had it’s first service providing you’ve bought a half decent one you should be fine… just don’t expect to be getting everywhere quick… good luck and let us know how you get on 👍
@@NorthernMotovlog Many thanks, I certainly will let you know how I get on!
Beutiful bike and track love it
Both are mega 👌🏻
@NorthernMotovlog Deffo one of the best circits with the best view 👌
The views are awesome, and if ya get lucky with the weather there’s not many places you’d rather be!!
both my lads waited till 17 and got 125s
My lads on a 125 now with a years no claims bonus and a years riding and his insurance is still expensive… the moped gave us some great lad and dad time
You are SO RIGHT about the horn. Because of it I now make mistakes on my other bikes
Same here 🤣
Great video but omg that road around the 15:00 min mark has more potholes than what wales has and thats saying something lol. keep the videos coming.
Thanks for the kind words, oh yeah there were some bad roads up there… standby for hopefully something big coming up 👍🏼
Cdi orginal??
Yes mate it’s a proper sp2
Always nice to have a new bike. And I do like the small bikes. I have a CB125 F and love it for commuting leaving my big bike for the long runs. Wish you many great rides ahead. Cheers
Cheers mate, small bikes are awesome for just about everything! However the 2000miles in 3 days next week will be getting done on a BIG UN 👌🤣
So pretty
Cheers dude
You should do lejog on it. Fuel will only cost about £50.
Haha I could be tempted at some point 🤣 I do fancy doing the nc500 on it though
Why did you sell monkey? Love mine. Also love the new grom in yellow. 👍🏻
I had another project on the go and needed the space which sounds daft as it’s a mini bike right 🤣 but I also wanted to get rid of a bike that was just lurking in the garage so I swapped the monkey for a project and got rid of a cbr500r for the Grom… I loved the monkey and deffo wouldn’t rule another out at some point but for now is Grom all the way… hope you stick around and I’ll catch up with you at some point soon I hope👍🏼
@@NorthernMotovlog I put road tyres on mine. Michelin city grips. Much quieter and cornering is now somewhat awesome. If I entered the tt I would be a winner. Maybe a few engine mods first 🤔
Made me chuckle that 🤣👍🏼 yeah city grips are supposed to be decent, I might invest in a pair
@@NorthernMotovlog 70 profile so slightly less diameter. Speedo out. But it's made the gearing better for me. It Would.nt rev out with me on anyway so now top is more flexible.
@zedcharlie sounds good to me 👌
AKITO typhoon jacket review…. Shite.
I knew you wouldn’t let me down mate 🤣
Thought you preferred a strap on
A reet good vid that Dave 👍🏼 I see thee living the dream right there 😂
Can’t beat it mate 🤣👍🏼
@@NorthernMotovlog do some more videos asap
Okey dokey mate 🤣👍🏼
Nice one bro 😊 it's true about other larger bikes not responding when ur on a little bike😮 looking forward to avin a gander bro 👍😎🤘
I nod and acknowledge everyone regardless of what bike I’m on… I’ll never understand the snobbery around it.. the young fella was nodding at people on his 50 🤣👍🏼 he’s been taught well hasn’t he 👍🏼
@@NorthernMotovlog Damn right 👌 biking has always been a brotherhood 🤘😎
The mighty Grom is a great bike. Especially since they added the 5th gear. Mini motos are fun per dollar than any other bike!
Ey up Eric hope you’re well over there dude 😁 As for the Grom and Mini bikes I couldn’t agree more 👍🏼 amazing fun and they never fail to put a big smile on your face!
Oooh shit 🤯
Yes and lots of it mate!! Me heart sank
As thee bought 1 Dave???
Dunno mate tbf 🤣
Great colour bro 👌😎
Cheers mate 👌
Had an rrx model exactly the same. I bitterly regret selling it.
Yeah I waited 16 years to get this back! And she’s not in the best condition either tbf
You didn't really name a reason, why you wouldn't want to use it for longer rides or more often for commute drives?
I wouldn’t want to commute on it because it would take away from what it really is, a fun bike for pleasure use! Longer rides aren’t an issue I’ve done a few on it and it’s comfy but for decent sized commutes there are just better bikes for that and tbf this is just a great bike for social riding!
One of the most beautiful bikes ever built by Honda. This and the 954rr were very good looking. Good old days when bikes had a little less electronics and only your skills mattered. Wonder if we will ever see bikes like these again. They are slowly turning into memories 😊
Spot on mate, and I’m afraid we won’t see anything like them again.. I’m not really a fan of the new stuff, too much tech on them… christ I consider a usb socket techy 🤣
Nice one. The bike looks awesome. What helmet is that? It looks cool. Would you recommend it?
It’s a shark mate and I’ve had shark lids for donkeys years, I love them! I’d highly recommend them
Now this a Northern Motovlog video....big superbike and a northern bloke missing turns 😂
About right that dude 👍🏼😂
@@NorthernMotovlog I do enjoy a pov ride out like that 👍🏼
What about one with music on?? 🤣
Blades looking great bro 👍
Cheers mate, looks better from a distance tbf 🤣.. few more little things to sort now though 😐😂
After watching this brilliant video I'm itching like crazy to do the same on mine 😊... Keep em coming mate!
Cheers dude, I’m glad you like it.. we’ll have to get a pair of old blades out later in the year
I've been riding for nearly 40 years, owned over 30 bikes and ridden loads more, that model Blade is the nicest one I've ever ridden, Honda just got everything right.
Yeah I’ve gotta agree mate, I’ve owned alsorts over the years and been riding over 30 years meself… this actual bike isn’t the best example, in fact it’s a bit rough up close however it was immaculate when I sold it 16 years ago and I wanted her back.. regardless of cosmetics it’s still quite a capable bike although more classed as a sports tourer these days 😂
Absolutely stunning bike sir, would you recommend this bike for a starter in line 4. I’m going for A2 soon and am looking for an inline 4 bike. A change from the 2 cylinders I’m used to 😂
Thank you for the lovely comment 👍🏼 I’d recommend a gsxr400 to anybody, however it’s not A2 compliant it’s well over the 48bhp.. great fun though…
Love these little gsxr’s. What’s your thoughts on them as a weekend road bike ?
If you can find a nice one I’d say go for it.. I trackday’d one for years… getting a well looked after one is getting harder but they are absolutely awesome bikes!!
Parts still easy to get for these bikes? Might buy a used one in a few months.
Loads of parts out there mate and the price of them has just dropped back to a more realistic level…
@@NorthernMotovlog very tempted, as im looking to invest in my first big bike but more so want something to preserve and keep safe for the long run. These bikes were simply out of reach back in the 90s as a kid however i feel a need to snap one up now before they become possibly more collectable and costly. The gen 1 models with the round headlamps seem to cost a bomb so this is probably the next best thing. Subject to insurance of course lol.
Good luck dude
Looking good, I’ll see you both on the 19th. Not long to go now. 👍
Cheers mate, if you look from across the car park and squint she looks better 🤣.. see you Down there 👍🏼
@@NorthernMotovlog no plan as yet as will be riding some of the way with a friend. I guess I’ll go with the general consensus nearer the day?
@spency787 I’ll see you down there then mate! I’m hoping to get there mid afternoon and get the digital bird up for a fly!
Fantastic video of a fantastic bike.. Well done. I'm in the process of bringing a 1997 CBR900RRV Barn-Find back from the dead (got some videos on my channel if you're bored. I'm a long way off getting out on the road like you though :). Keep up the good work and please more videos of the blade :)
I’ve been following you for a while dude, these old blades are great bikes.. this one was mine originally and I’ve wanted her back since I sold her… loving watching yer rebuild… so I kept mine a bit quiet so there was only yours out there 👌 there’ll be more of Lola soon!
@@NorthernMotovlog Thanks for following my, sometimes pitiful, attempt at bringing mine back. We’ll have to have a Blade-Ride out at some point my friend 😊😎🤘🏻
Your blade stuff has be ace, even the tumble drier bit 😂.. I’m deffo up for a ride on the old girls later in the year mate 👍🏼 BIG ride next month first for Lola to cope with…
🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🏍️🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
how far off are you from finishing the bike off?? Obvs without giving away yer filming schedule 😂👍🏼
