Dave and Diane Throwing Caution to the Wind
Dave and Diane Throwing Caution to the Wind
We started our Fulltime RV experience in 2012 and thought by sharing some of our experiences some may enjoy it AND it may actually help some in some way.
We will talk about everything from RV's (5th wheels and motorhomes) and trucks to travel days, hikes, museums, campground reviews, and more. No fluff here, just the way it really is for US. Don't let anyone tell you that THEIR truth is the ONLY truth, do your research and trust your gut. What is true for us may not work for you and someone else's truth may be their truth but may not work for anyone else. Don't get caught up in the BS.

I spy the “fridge fixer” too - love that little invention!
Great video do you have room for a couple Canadians lol
Oh heck yes, get on down here!!
i know there should be a header above the window and studs to the left and right of the window, but what about where the hook for the string is attached? If my window is 61 inches and the studs are almost 10 inches from the outer edges of the window I need to add that to the width of the awning correct? That is what it looked liked they did because the awning was wider than the window... GREAT video! Thanks for sharing
I don't know the exact spacing on those studs but yes there is a stud where the hook is placed. I was happy to have had it done at the factory where they know exactly where things are.
good vid, thank you. I just got the single burner, haven't used it yet, but concerned about grease just dripping through to floor of my deck. They don't have a grease cup?? Any suggestions, or should I return my new single burner? Thanks
There are a number of grease catchers available that can hook on the single burner. At about 4.25 into the video you can see the grease catcher I got and it works pretty well.
@@daveanddianethrowingcautio5707 , thx for quick response. Sorry for my inaccurate description. I have the Camp Chef Delux BBq Grill box, that is the one that I'm concerned about. If I cook some chicken on that thing I'm expecting grease all over the place. I've read some complaints and I'm looking for ideas. Thanks again, Joe
No worries!! I always lay some sort of matt under the BBQ but with that said I have never had an issue with grease or anything coming out of the BBQ box. However I would still suggest some sort of matt because now that I told you that the very 1st time you used yours something would come out of the bottom LOL!!!
Way too expensive for a start up paddle imo that’s why you don’t mention the price
Well it could be an expensive stater paddle for some yet not for others and thats not for you or I to decide. But then again I didn't talk about it as a startup paddle either so there is that. A few of us have asked the developer about a "cheap" paddle but his thoughts are leave the cheap stuff to other companies and just offer high quality so I'm pretty sure thats the lane KOBO will stay in. Thanks for watching and taking time to comment. Have fun on the courts!!
I headed that way soon, in July 2024.
Thats great!!! I'm pretty sure you will enjoy it.
Costco burger tastes like dried cardboard smashed together 🤢. We don't know what they put in our food anymore.
LOL,, well there certainly are better burgers.
We have never heard of the t 9. Is it better than other greaser? Lynn and Danny
Boeing was in need of a better corrosion protectant and lube at one point and developed T-9. I figure if it's good enough for Boeing it should be good for me. Heck just look at how easy the nuts came off those doors on the planes!!!
You have a point. 😅
Beautiful lot Sir. Stay safe and healthy.
Thank you, hope all is well on your end.
Thanks for sharing the maintenance tips.
And thank you for watching and taking time to comment.
Dave, what kind of batteries do you have?
Oh I hate to even answer. First off we have AGM batteries which is the good part BUT we have a couple from our last rig that was only 2 years old when we built this one and then we have some we put in when we built this so we have different brands and different age batteries. Far from what anyone would say to do and we don't recommend it BUT it's what we did LOL!!! These are certainly reaching the end of their lives and we will most likely switch to lithium, but we will cross that bridge when we get there.
I love that battery storage area but I don't think it would work for lithium because of what would be exposure to ambient temps. Of course, if you're always in warm environs, who cares, lol.
I have seen that battery storage lined with insulation board and be used for Lithium and work fine. Plus some Lithium batteries have built in heaters which if a person really planned to camp in cold weather would be the way to go.
code isn't 34326 you put up 32326
Yup I messed up at that one point but I think I got it right the next times LOL!!!
Good one Dave! Keep'em coming!
Thank you and thanks for stopping in and the comment as always.
I like the maintenance and camp set up/breakdown videos. Thank you sir. Have you considered doing an updated coach walkthrough and maybe a review the New Horizons after living in it for awhile?
I'm glad you enjoy them, thanks. I HAVE thought about doing another walk through video on the New Horizons. The only reason I have not is because I have done a couple on this one and I didn't want to seem repetitive BUT I will consider it again. Thanks for putting the bug in my ear,
What was that you used on your tires?
303
How often do you wax your coach Dave? Is PCreek a good spot to get a mobile detailer to give it a full wax? Or do you just use AeroCosmetics and do it yourself?
When I clean the coach with Aero Cosmetics it's a wash wax product. But along with that I use a wipe on wipe of ceramic coating product I would like to say once a year but it probably averages out to every 18 months in reality. And yes, PCreek has a couple RV wash companies that comes in and does wash and wax service. Thats the one time per year we usually let someone else clean our rig for us.
Great tips
Thank you.
Great tips 👍😎
Thanks!!
Hows the home base doing? Denis from santa rosa ca
It's coming along very nice. I've been thinking about doing a new video but have a couple things I want to have done first.
Your not old. Your rooling really well . Denis from santa rosa ca
Maybe I just feel old getting down there once and awhile LOL!!
I like your style . I torque my wheels when i leave the house and before we leave the camp site . I lube every before i leave the house .we dont do full time but we go around 400 miles each trip . Awesome video .
You can never be to prepared.
Like-useful vlog- 🤙
Thank you for those kind words.
Mountain View’s RV Park is nasty. They’ve put the septic tanks so close to pollute the Rio Grande River. They messed up the bridge so people in boats crash into it. And not even the corp of engineers can win a case against these weirdos. And let’s not forget the mysterious dead bear that was found on the banks of the river and no one can find out who actually did it . Those lots are not “purchased” they are 100 year leases because it’s forest service land. So the resort owners are destroying the natural environment. Everyone who stays in there rips their ATVs through town. They are all also bible thumpers. Don’t go there unless you hate nature, are straight and white, and “love Jesus”. Also if you are a traitor you will love it there because they fly a tattered US flag and Drump24 BS. This RV park is only for hateful white “Christian” nationalists if you know what I mean. Why would you spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to park your bus right next to a stranger that’s going to invite you to Bible study every night? And then silently judge you because you don’t have as much money as them. Seems like pure hell. The county that it’s in is full of free sites to go camping in the forest. This is a different kind of Camping than I think what most people are used to, but I guess it’s the way the boomers are doing it. The owners of the RV park are from Texas… Go figure.
I don't know about a dead bear or the septic thing but I'm not so sure everything you mention is 100% because we have stayed there a few times and we are FAR from being bible thumpers as you say and we are certainly not nature haters and we don't own a ATV so putting (everyone who stays there) in one group is hardly accurate. We will leave your comment here because, well I guess it's the way you feel and we let people make their own choices but again I don't think grouping everyone in a category because they have camped there is correct. In fact that type of thinking is what I feel is a big part of our country's problem. We hope you have a great weekend planned.
Use it for your local area not out of town and you will make profit we have all kinds of caseys and sams club so it works pretty good
We have used it from the west coast to the east coast and between.
You guys have such great information. Thanks for being so open and entertaining. ✌
And thank you for the kind comment.
What mpg do you get driving free way speeds with no load or towing? I had a 12 3500 crew cab dually with 3:55s and it got 15ish city 18 highway under 70mph
We have not really driven enough Freeway miles empty to know. When we first picked it up in Indiana and drove it empty to Kansas we got right at 15 but that was a few years ago.
I hear that Diane will be taking up watercolor painting soon.
LOL!!! That may be added to her hobby list, time will tell. If only she had an instructor.
@@daveanddianethrowingcautio5707 I know of a good one in FL.
Interesting 🤔 👍
Thanks!!
Beautiful unit! I love the massive basement storage. How tall is the front basement storage compartment?
I've seen those burger, but as i recal, they put some additives in that i didn't want.
Which burger? We didn't see anything bad in either.
@@daveanddianethrowingcautio5707 the ones from Walmart
Sams Club. It had oil added. Soy or canola. One of the seed oils. But if the package says 100% beef then it's pure.
Very nice tour of the fort. Such amazing historic architecture. Lots of interesting vintage items. I love all the views of the surrounding area. Great video capture of the cannon going off. The passengers on the boat must have love it.😊😊 Have a great week.
We are glad you stopped in and enjoyed the tour. Yup the boat and cannon part was a hit for all I think. Have a great week!!
I Love Red Rock I enjoy Watching our Eagles!
It's a nice area with some great history for sure.
I'm headed here in April 2025 so I'll report back to you.
We hope you have a great time!!!
Kind of a ridiculous price
Location location location as they say.
Along way from home! Cool stuff!
Home is where we ark right?!?
Cool fort to checkout 🤠👍
Yes it was.
Good one.
Thanks!
Nice... The place is looking great. 👍👍👍
Looking good brother nice property
Thanks Joe, we hope some day you guys will come by and spend a few nights with us.
If you have someone with a loader or digger if everything is disconnected from the pole you can have them pull it out of the ground. Then you do not have it pushing back up later on. Stay safe and healthy.
Well our water and 50amp for our coach is still live and connected to the pole down below the old service panel so I think I will just take everything off and then cut the pole and put a ornamental cap of some sort on it. Otherwise, great idea.

Thank you, glad you enjoyed it.
I drove 70-80 miles to the gas station they suggested and then i found out Costco thats 5-10 miles away was a whole dollar cheaper wtf
Well in this video at 5:20 I talk about that exact thing. A person needs to do their research by looking at Gas Buddy for example and deciding if paying a little more at a station near by makes more sense or in a situation like yours there could be cheaper stations that don't even partner with UPside.
@@daveanddianethrowingcautio5707 your video sucks
I hope your day gets better.
@@daveanddianethrowingcautio5707 it will because you replied to a pointless comment its just pixels mate
