    One would think by now somebody after ten years of this video would make a heel toe shifter to slide under the frame off the shaft and back up between the pegs and the kick stand. 2023 KLH 650 anyway.

    I have a 2007 mercury 90hp elpto that I’ve recently bought that was in salt water I tried a new starter, solenoid, and regulator rectifier, and a brand new battery bought 2 months ago and the starter spins the flywheel but won’t spin it fast enough to crank. If I take the pull rope and wrap it around the flywheel and pull it will crank after a few try’s. Did yours have any problems similar to that. If anyone has any ideas or know anything to fix that will be appreciated.

    Don't tip over the generator to empty the fuel tank, not when it is full of oil! Break in oil should not be synthetic! Or it won't break in.

    Considering I mentioned that if you were to do this, to turn the generator over just for a few moments, In order to get the one gallon of gasoline out of the tank, could you elaborate in detail, internally within the engine, what damage could be done?

    What page of instruction manual says 1hr break-in time?

  • @MrEdb1969
    @MrEdb19692 жыл бұрын

    Just like any brand new machine, there's always a break in time. You will have the wear and tear of the piston rings on the cylinder walls. Microscopic shavings of metal are going to flow freely through the oil. Not to mention the bearings on the crank shaft and piston rod as well as the valves. All of it is metal on metal when the engine is running for the first time especially when you put a "load" on it. That means more "torque" will happen internally to the engine, thus probably shaving off more very small metal shavings. You want to change that oil 🛢 after the initial break in period of the brand new engine running for the first time. Flush out any metal shavings and start with new oil 🛢. This will help for the longevity of your generator.

    Hi, about the video, I just used my LG cell phone to make the video and do not know why it did that format. As for the oil dip stick, you may have a couple of lines or dots on them. The fill mark should be in between them. Another good way to know when your generator is full of oil is when you put the new oil in the generator, make sure it is level and when you see oil come to the bottom of the threads for the oil dip stick, that is full. Not overflowing.

    Do you get a small puff of smoke when the generator is on eco mode idling.. Then it revs up when there is a load on it an the rpms increase! Just curious if that is normal! The puff of smoke only last a second and goes right away. Just happens when it rpms up under load. Thanks. My oil level is perfect!

  • @MrEdb1969
    @MrEdb19693 жыл бұрын

    No I don't get that. If its just a puff of smoke, I wouldn't worry about it to much. It's just burning off a bit of oil coming through the o rings on the piston or leaking through the valve stem seal up on top of the engine. As long as the smoke is not long and consistent and your oil is not burning off to fast, you'll just have to live with it unfortunately but it won't hurt your motor. Just puffs smoke.

  • @MrEdb1969
    @MrEdb19693 жыл бұрын

    Or your piston rings breaks are lined up and is allowing a tad of oil seepage into the chamber... Nothing you can really do about that either. It won't hurt as long as it's not too much.

    Either that or your cables have corrosion throughout them. Coming from the ends that are exposed mainly and not the ends that are inside the hood of the motor, considering it's a dry clean area. Maybe you could take a utility knife and cut the installation around the positive and negative cable, up about 4 to 6 in to see if there is corrosion in between the wires of the cable.
