Thats not how Gradient is working for me...for me the gradient just applies to the brush alpha,(polypaint or sculpt) so if ur colours are yellow and blue, the alpha is just yellow on the edge, and blue at the center, and whether your stroke is light or hard doesnt change the color at all
in fact, thats how it was working in the video too, switch to something more contrasty like blue and yellow and itll be easier to see

ok so what if i want Sculptris Pro to be forced turned on with a certain brush? say...that smooth brush with 0 intensity for Tessemation e.g.? I see under Brush > Sculptris there is a setting for a reminder function, is that all?
The inflating algorithm isnt quite the same though, at least for me, when i compare inflate to the Smooth-let go of shift-inflate, the latter one first smoothes away the details, then inflates, even if i let go of shift immediately after i tap

i wanted to copy your custom menu, and was able to find all the buttons, except for "show" under "modify topology", could you tell me what it is? also when i boot up zbrush my custom menu is gone, and i have to copy and paste the ZStartup i saved into ZbrushDate under User
Movie > Timeline > Show to store camera positions, and preferences > store config should make your startup include the custom stuff you have open!

How do you edit the Tongue Outs/Ins/Downss etc in the Edit Expressions? There's no button to open the jaw. I don't think you cover this is your video. Many thanks.
A good use i can think of for C1 and C2 is maybe a sniper rifle, aiming at a target.
If you want to orient an object in 3d you can do it based on 1 point, 2 point or 3 points. This what C1, C2, C3 are for. Poor UI design IMO
Hello Michael, Thx for the great video ! It is very useful indeed. Let me ask: Is there any way to wrap a cylinder all around with a low relief flat subtool, that is genereted with an alpha which was created from a bitmap image? As you shown; overhangimg parts creat an awkward result...
quite a few ways to do that - if you can fit the alpha to the objects UVs, just bring in as a displacement map and apply the height, or use UV > Morph UV, apply sculptural changes to your object while it's flat, then morph it back to it's cylindrical shape. If you can't use UVs, you can always make your sculptural changes to a plane, and use gizmo deformers to make it into a cylindrical shape, etc....

Thanks for the video! I have a problem with HUION Kamvas 22 in Zbrush. At times the zoom in or out in the viewport works poorly, when I zoom in or out zbrush frames the subtool in another place. Something similar happens when I move the model. It's really annoying to work like this.
These meshes have really good topology, at an extreme angle of rotation things still looks good unlike to many other base meshes I tried, thanks for tuto
My 2024.0.4 Version crashes out of nowhere from time to time without the "white screen of death". unfortunately my Recovered Files folder stays completely empty then. Is there any solution? Maxon Support told me to totally "clean" reinstall this current version. But this is what i did. No legacy from older versions or smth.

How could you limit the size of the brush strokes, when you pass over a stroke over and over again for example. So that it is always at the same height? thankss

Question: is there a specific reason why you are not ticking the "Match ZBrush Model Scale (x 0.01) option before clicking the GoZ button? Wouldn't that sort the "issue" with the brush size straightforward?
That, or you can use the ZPlugin > Scale Master ZBrush Unifiy, which will update your export scale. I tend to just keep things vanilla after some incompatibility with layers (don't want to hit that button with FaceTools I don't think?) but feel free!

Also, sorry to bother you with another nooby question: I don't understand which step I am missing, but I'm trying to experiment a little bit with the CC4/Goz back and forth and for example i wanted to create a scar on the lip of my character so i did it in Sub lvl 6, but when i sent it back to CC4 i couldn't see the scar on my character. So i went back to Zbrush and just to try it out i pulled out the head making a super long neck and sent it back to CC4 and this time i could see my char turning into a giraffe. So what am i missing? Why am I only able to see big changes but none of the small details made in Subdiv 6? Infact, i can see around 39:00, when you go back to CC4 and update the goblin, he doesn't seem to have all the great details you had in Zbrush, but after that you move to Substance Painter so I feel I've got this gap of knowledge to give myself an explanation XD (it's probably something silly but I can't figure it out). Thanks for any reply and sorry for the super long post O.o
