Our team is focused on revitalizing traditional towns, building great new places, growing neighborhoods, and fixing sprawl - by design. We create visions that guide the future of streets, neighborhoods, cities, and regions.
Dover, Kohl & Partners was founded in 1987. Our expertise lies in balancing the visionary ‘civic art’ of planning with the practical consensus building needed to make projects succeed. We are trained in the principles of traditional town planning, and have advanced the techniques for gathering meaningful community input. Dover, Kohl & Partners is best known for public design charrettes, detailed master plans, and illustrative codes that emphasize complete neighborhoods as the basis for sound communities.

Demanding developers use native plants would be a huge help. No more non-native invasives. No more one little oak tree with a few non-native edge plants. We have great native plants that can be used as a hedge that serve our wildlife at the same time. I sure hope you guys have someone who understands FL native plants on your advisory board
can you come to Beaufort sc to make bigger and better stuff like that I wanna see that in Beaufort county sc that looks nice.❤
🤣😂😆😂🤣😂😆Love of Neighbors in LAKE WALES?? The town that STILL has an active KKK Charter? The town with City Council Member & Mayor who are Christian Nationalists? The town that has a Charter School System, that keeps minorities & kids with disabilities OUT? Good One. LW has citizens who love each other. 😆😂🤣😂🤣😆😂🤣😆😂🤣😆🤣 GTFO here with that Marketing BS.
Well-deserved award and another great video by Theresa!
great job
This is really exciting! Love to see the continued growth downtown with great livable spaces and community parks in the plan.
When this will happen?
Creepy how real this looks lol. Groundbreaking for this was a couple days ago!

cool video
I live near here and see accidents there roughly once a month. It’s unbelievable.
Thanks Victor and the Trail Alliance for demanding better infrastructure and connections. Let's demand better and be better, together!
How are the rich people in Key Biscayne supposed to drive their SUVs there if this intersection isn't big enough for them
Hey Victor. I use to bike through this mess every day at University of Miami. It's Miami, so.... Yes, it is.
Hey Dover, Can you please do a video that names towns or neighborhoods that demonstrate 1 or more of your design criteria done "right". I'd like to visit some of them to see what "right" looks like.
This is how most GTA cities are planned. You can walk anywhere your want as long as you have under a two star rating, or you can drive there too. Your garage should be within five minutes of the local Pay & Spray, or Ammunation.
Great video! Cities like Greenville, SC have begun to realize building pleasant, walkable cities is a winning formula and are reaping the benefits.
When are they going to renovate the Walrsbilt Hotel,it would make great affordable housing for seniors adding to downtown traffic if it isn't going to be a hotel again.
Capitalism cares only about profit So a city designed only for profit doesn't care about you by design.
I used to live in a village. The only milk in town was indeed less than five minutes way. For eight hours a day. Then the store was closed. It was also closed on Saturday and Sunday. Dudes, you have no idea what you are talking about. Quality of life is NOT defined by walking distance. It's defined by variety and availability.
I liked it even before watching it! We need those!
😂
That’s the way it should be!
So excited for this
A few say Plaza is too small. Thua, it is just right😊!
All designed & built without application of a single traffic analysis model! We knew what all the dimensions must be to please the Pedestrians. Pleased w result.
LAKE WALES IS GREAT PLACE ,LOTS OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES AND GREAT NEIGHBORS WHO CARE
Two of my favorite mentors!
Great educational video. The lower example looks like architecture “of the motorcar, by the motorcar” and for the motorcar” if I may paraphrase President Lincoln
I sincerely hope they have 3D printed a Delorean (slightly off scale of course) to drive around these city models.
Great Video👍
So happy to be apart of this!
The Urban Sprawl is horrific in Florida...so much wilderness is being paved over it is sickening!

Division is bright for Lake Wales taking consideration that changes hard but the opportunity is there. Open your eyes wide and think out of the box these are the dynamics that are put before us now. In the upcoming years the most difficult steps are going to be made with positive outcome. We must embrace it the future is ours to hold. Much thought and planning has gone into the perspective of regaining a momentum that will benefit all. This is the most inspirational presentation that I have seen thus far of the future of Lake Wales. Good things are on the horizon.❤
I love this. The mayor hit the nail on the head when he observed that, "so much we hope to get done has been outlawed." I hope Lake Wales succeeds!
Excellent. There definitely is a market for traditional development and walkable/bikeable neighborhoods.
Polk County in general is becoming a giant "Nature Hood" and I'm loving every bit of it. Downtown Lakeland is also going through a massive update similar to this. I can't wait.
It can be done!!
Awesome stuff!!!
Great documentary!! Amazing to see so many committed stakeholders who want to see a different future for Lake Wales. So much potential to not just realize but exceed what Olmsted Jr could have ever imagined! Great work!
The last clip is of Edward Bok: “Make you the world a little bit better and more beautiful…” written large behind the commission chairs. Hope this inspires our elected leaders in their choices/ how they vote for the future of Lake Wales.
Way to go Lee!!!! (And DKP team!!!).
Thanks for checking it out Milt-- means a lot coming from you
This is amazing!
Omg so excited for this 😍
GReat video I cant wait for it to start building.
Thank you for being at the debut screening!
really cant wait for this one
Thanks
so simple, not true of many cities
No, it's not that simple. What happens when you need emergency medical service (it's not an if... everybody needs that from time to time) and the next hospital is 30 minutes drive away? That means you won't get to see a doctor for at least an hour... if you are lucky. Urbanists are talking about all the easy stuff like walkways and they never mention the hard stuff like employment, shopping and healthcare.
