Clearly a very experienced and skilled angler but I can’t get my head round holding the rod in your right hand to cast, presumably your strongest arm, but then holding the rod in the weaker arm with a bloody great fish on the end. Wouldn’t a lh multiplier be more comfortable? 🤷🏻‍♂️ Did your spinning rod have a lh wind fixed spool? I guess it’s what most rh sea anglers do but I don’t understand why. Help!

Very well explained..! I have been fishing with multipliers all my life,... Although I do own fixed spool reels, ...but I never use them,... My first choice will always be a multiplier as I have many to choose from or my fly reels if I'm going to Spey cast for trout, salmon, or steelhead,... About the mag install, ... I'm in favor of a knobby mag because I can free up the mag after I cast to get more distance,... I'm not a distance caster but the benefits of a mag on multipliers are amazing..! I learned to cast multipliers when was 7 years old... I'm 63 now... back then, there weren't mags yet... Just centrifugal blocks but I have educated my thumb since then to cast long distances, .. Not that you need to cast that far but it's so cool to whip a lure 200 yards…! Cool video..🤙😎👌

Certainly, the mono mag has big advantages over the static mag. Grate Wright up and good reply 👌 thanks.

I think I'll definitely get a keeper bass but I don't know how big it will be. But those 2lb+ Flounders are a good catch as there's a standard stamp of 32-35cm a good few 38-40cms and few 42-44cm and fewer 45-50cms. To be fair catching a Plaice out there is the equivalent of catching a 42cm Flounder there. As their not that common at all.

A single STRONG magnet will work . I compared some weak sauce amazon "refrigerator/toy grade" neo magnets and they didn't slow my saltist down much if anym even with several . A single strong 12 mm neo magnet from the hardware store cut the spin time in half. Unforutnately, its slightly too wide . I'm going back to see if they have any 10 or even 8mm magnets of the same grade.

I've got the Saltiga and Saltist 50 models, which I use for sharks, rays, and larger gamefish. I recommend adding three 10 mm x 2 mm N52 magnets and keeping the white braking blocks for those larger reels. This setup seems to be the best compromise between free-spooling and control.
