Archie Sonic Character Files, explaining the history of characters from the comics while I give my personal thoughts on them as I am not legally allowed to talk about the Sonic games anymore. Ian Flynn did state in a Bumblekast that one black arm that is likely to return in Idw would be Eclipse if that actually happened i would be overjoyed for his return and curious to how much he is rewritten in the canon timeline than in the Archie comics

Honestly I think Orbot and Cubot are good characters *in concept* that just aren’t given the right chances to shine. As you said they’re not as active compared to his other henchmen but I think that could be a good thing. It’s attempted to be established in colours and unleashed that they seem to be good at keeping Eggman’s ego in check and give him less work to do in the background and if they had simply another more active character to bounce off of and we got to see them do more behind the scenes, it would go a lot better. Ironically they’ve shown this at least twice with Metal and Sage. Please Sega just let them do things instead of making them purely idiots. I can accept it if it’s in active situations because they’re not made for that but show us their usefulness and tinkering skills more.
A few ways I could see the Black Arms could make a return (depending on how “Sonic x Shadow Generations goes)if not in future games, is through a big story Arc in the IDW comics. Either like Archie's Sonic did with a separate group( or groups) who were off invading different worlds or perhaps a mad scientist( similar to Dr. StarLine) collected samples from the Invasion and brought them to the Space Colony Arc to run tests/experiments. Ending up creating a new generation/version of them similar to Eclipse or Shadow himself. Or a plot line involving the legacy of the Black Arms, perhaps Survivors of the worlds consumed by the Black Arms coming to Sonic's world(Mobius) to track down the last remnants of the Black Arms: Shadow, and or Black Arms Eggs that Black Doom could've stashed away somewhere.

If Ian Flynn ever finishes Lost Hedgehog Tales, I hope it covers the Post-SGW timeline as well. I'd love to see where he was going with Eclipse and Naugus. Slightly off-topic, how do you decide which characters to cover?

I got a question for anyone. 🙏 I'm trying to find an issue, but I can't remember the name, or issue number. I'm going off memory. I think it's a filler, I think it starts in desert, with a road runner and some rodent characters. Sonic and his friends isn't in that issue. I don't remember seeing them. If anyone knows what issue number or title, Please let me know 🙏

it would've been nice if they canonized Eclipse for Sonic X Shadow Generations. but knowing Sega they're never going to use him, but atleast Emerl will be making a return and might potentially be the 4th playable character in the game
On the upside, they could take inspiration from Eclipse to give Mephiles more personality. Since Mephiles came first, SEGA owns him, and Eclipse might've been created by Ian Flynn, there's a better chance of that happening. It'd be sad for Eclipse but an overall net gain for the Sonic franchise IMHO.
@@DoveJS yeah. plus the Archie Reboot was the first time we got more lore for the Black Arms with Black Death taking over following Black Doom's death, the arrival of a new Black Comet, Eclipse's very existence, being what Shadow would look like had he stayed with the Black Arms instead of turning against them and even has a bit of a connection to the Wisps in the form of the Dark Arms, the fact Archie Sonic did ALL this for the Black Arms in the reboot canon where it's more in line with the games WAY before Sonic X Shadow Generations would continue the Black Arms storyline is really cool to me. and there's also the lore of Black Doom going to war against the Xorda in the old timeline. but that's literally all we see of the Black Arms in the old canon

Honestly, I'm glad this is all we got. I really enjoyed Eclipse's story, and I really don't like Black Doom that much, so I'm glad the Black Arms didn't waste time in Archie.
Imagine being the one that Archie didn't really want to spend time to flash out. That shows how much of nothing and boring character you are. But at least he got lucky to appear unlike Erazor Djinn or Merlina(I don't remember them being in the comics at all to be honest)
@@ashesGeek Merlina did appear in a back-up story to promote SATBK, but why should those characters even have been in Archie? They have nothing to do with any of the major stories in the comic.
@bowserbreaker2515 Eggman Nega also had no business doing in the game yet he was written better and got more to do than his game version. After all, despite it being just for Lost World advertising Archie did Deadly Six better and more badass than the game itself and IDW comics. Besides, Sega successfully got rid of "unfitting" characters like Scourge, Mammoth Mogul and Iron Queen, so I'd assume putting game villians into the reboot would've been expected
@@ashesGeek I thought you were talking about pre-boot. But I still don't think the Storybook characters should have ever appeared. Those games canonically already happened, so why would we even see these characters again?

The Black Arms Aliens 👽 are so damn evil.
I really loved the character of Eclipse I wish we got more of him because he was a nice addition to the Black Arms. I really learned more about the history of the Black Arms in the comics.

@alainwolf146 it was odd seeing no FF characters. Of course they later made that ReMind addon that did feature Leon and the gang. Probably done as an apology for not being in the main game lol

10 years of the most misguided Oz sequel film attempt. That is an accomplishment. Like saltbaker8683, I was introduced to this by AniMat (before he got a bad case of the Mues Disease (a nickname for a fictitious disease that turns content creators into far-left breadtube maniacs I created in the wake of the ongoing phenomenon)), and he utterly trashed it. And with every other review I see of this, I'm not surprised. It's not full Emoji Movie bad, but it's utterly woeful with lame musical numbers and awful animation. If you want to watch an Oz film, do what I'll do one of these days and stick to the musical The Wizard of Oz by MGM and more faithful Return to Oz by Disney. And maybe shill out the money for the stageshow Wicked if you want something radically different.
