    Should we flick out when creating guidelines or should we instead keep it at 45 degrees? Also same question for taking out the guidelines?

  • @JosCuts
    @JosCuts4 күн бұрын

    Maintain the 45 degree angle as the clipper is going up towards the line you want to create/erase and once you’re there you start flicking out 🙏🏽

    Thanks for explaining in good detail about pressure. I never thought about applying light/hard pressure. I was to focus about flicking the clipper motion. Now I just want to go straight to the shop or cutting my twin boys hair and applying this technique ASAP! Definitely one of my favorites videos you have done.

    What blades do you have on your clippers?? What blade do you use first? The fade blade and the taper blade or taper blades first and then fade blade?

  • @JosCuts
    @JosCuts6 күн бұрын

    When I first started I used the stock blade on the senior. Then I started using the stagger tooth blade on the magic clip. I personally like the senior blade better, but the stagger tooth blade does help with blending in my opinion

  • @JosCuts

    Currently working towards my NVQ in barbering; I keep making the mistake of not giving myself enough room to blend! I think I’m taking my skin placement line and no guard too high, so that’s something I’m especially trying to work on recently. I would also love to see how you cut the top as that is something that I struggle with too! Specifically cutting round, and connections!

  • @JosCuts
    @JosCuts6 күн бұрын

    Not giving yourself enough room is a common mistake, I used to do that as well but I would keep my fades too low cause I was afraid to go too high. Best advice I can give is to DeBulk with a #3 Guard first before you put in your bald and half guidelines. That way you’ll know where your fade ends, so you can gage the room you have to blend a little better 🙏🏽

    How much space would you say you use to blend with 0.5 guard? I saw you said 1.5 inches of space, so would you say about an inch or half inch is the 0.5 open-half-closed. That’s the main part I’m struggling with in my fades right now. Thanks again for the videos 🔥

  • @JosCuts
    @JosCuts16 күн бұрын

    No bro , the 1.5 inches of space is for the 1 guard AND the 0.5 guard. I would say the 0.5 guard is half an inch to a full inch depends on the fade and the client shape. Always maintaining a flicking motion of course 🙏🏽 if you need me to clarify anything else don’t hesitate 🙏🏽
