"Delighted to share not only the gospel, but also our lives" - 1 Thessalonians 2:8
Hi friends!
I (Erin) made this channel back when I was at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, and since graduating, my husband Nolan and I have been inspired by 1 Thessalonians 2:8 to continue sharing our journey in the military, as a married couple, and of course, as devoted Christians. We hope this channel brings you joy, encouragement, and reminds to to keep looking up :)

Your on my shit listforever!!
I'm sorry but if the Hull isn't BLACK it's not a real coastie boat lol. Most of my career was spent in Black hulls in AK. Great video, The coast guard needs more promo stuff like this.
These are the new recruiting videos for the armed forces. Same bullshit I watched when I joined the Army. Make everything look cool and fun. Then 2 weeks into basic everyone was saying. USARMY in reverse was, Yes My Retarded Ass Signed Up.
Yo! Port Angeles! CGC Active baby, little tough guy.,
Thank you for the tour Erin. One of these cutters USCG Cutter Adelie in the San Juan’s saved my partner and I after the sailboat we were crewing on became disabled in heavy weather during a November Gale. I’ll never forget the Adelie and her crew. I am ships crew in the Canadian Coast guard working towards becoming a lifeboat OIC and look forward to the day when I get to return the favour for another mariner in need.
Looking at this video in June, 2024. Erin is probably now a JG with two years command experience.., BZ to her! I'm a retired Senior Chief (not USCG - more's the pity) and I must say that the absolute best part of my job (from LPO to Senior) was building up officers like young Erin here. Thank you for your service, ma'am. This old Senior salutes! Edit: I'm pretty old (Seaman Recruit in '76) and things/conditions have changed a lot over the years but I am absolutely convinced that our young people can - and definitely will - be as good or better than we were. Probably better... if I'm honest.
I'm not sure Connecticut College is an average college. Maybe.
Season of life: a CGA dad. Just wanted to see what life was like.
Hey Erin! Just wondering if you knew how much the academy took SAT scores into consideration? If the rest of my application is strong how much will a lower SAT score affect me?
I will be 36 this year. Is it too late in life to make the most of becoming an Officer?
May Our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ bless you and all who read this. Also, the US donated 3 of these boats to the Lebanese Navy. Thank you and God Bless
I enjoyed your video as it brought back memories of my student engineering days and nights on Dallas in 1969 as a brand new O-1. 😃
I am a USCG vet BM on an 87' patrol boat WPB Point Swift.
Do you have to write all your notes by hand or are you allowed to take them digitally
BZ, shipmate. Spent 21 yrs active duty, retired in 97. 2 icebreakers back2back, etc. Stay strong. It will fly by... SemperParatus. PTL.
Enjoyed the perspective of 2022 CGA in several of your videos. This from an Academy Grad, Aviator, MS Degree (CG Sponsored), and Acquisition Manager. Post-CG Consultant.

thank you for your service
Congratulations, shipmate. I served on USCGC Gallatin (WHEC 721) ETN/ET, USCGC Spencer (WMEC 905) ET, USCGC Hamilton (WHEC 715) EMO/HCO. I wish you and your husband a rewarding career.
Is this the replacement for 82 footers? Enjoy your career. USCG 24 1/2 year (ret) Subscribed
Can you do a video on the officer training pipeline for OCS candidates?
After enough time you usually wind up serving with the same folks more than once. The CG is way more intimate than the larger services. TEAM Coast Guard really describes it. It’s a great branch and I’ve made life long connections with Petty officers to Admirals. The respect among rates and ranks is amazing.
Just saw this. Graduated in 1969 from USCGA. Noticing major differences between then and now. Interesting video. At the end of the day, in the service, I was duty swimmer on our ship, and in open ocean jumped in water, swam out and brought man in life jacket (24 hours) back along side of ship for rescue. Hour later, did the same for 3 clinging to a life ring. It was worth all that I went through at the Academy. Back in the day, we had mandatory chapel on Sunday. I was involved in Officer's Christian Fellowship, which provided many Christian contacts in the Academy and later.
Good to see the working blues were changed up. Looks good. From 91-95 we looked like janitors lol.
Heck yeah on the sleeping bag! Was on the CGC Spencer for a few years. Them berthing area's are cold man.
She is very well spoken good job 😊
My son graduated with your daughter. I couldn't agree more with the advice you are offering.
Why is the Coast guard allowing a cadet to pretend to be an internet influencer.. Just do your F’n job..
It’s a Cutter. There Cadet! I know. I am a veteran USCG
What has happened in the past 11 months?
Those boats were built in Lockport Louisiana
My dad is 93. He was in the Coast Guard for about 4 years. I love hearing his stories. You have no idea what he did back in those days. Still trying him to make a book about his experience. Much respect to the. Coast Guard
nice job
Informative and entertaining.
How many people generally serve on a boat this size?
An 87' boat should have a water maker onboard and water should never be a problem.
I liked your tour. I am former USCG 1958-1960 on Icebreaker Eastwind WAGB 279. Both Noth Pole and South Pole Operation Deep Freeze 60.. Eastwind Association is having its' final reunion in June this year....too many past members have crossed the bar. Wish you well in your Coast Guard career. Semper Paratus.
Another victim of the Mask Hoax!
really surprised that the 87 had bitghing spaces
when the CG rescued a civilian from a boat, they brought them in either by both or copter to cape may, the rescue squad would pick them up and transport to the hospital, nothing like backing an ambulance down a long wooden dock to the cg cutter.
Sounds like you must have had a large berth to hold all of those things!
Good tour thanks. Where are you now? What is your current rank? Thx
Sure am grateful all that Covid nonsense is in the rearview mirror. My son is a fourth class cadet this year in Echo Company fortunately things are back to normal, whatever that means.
I was a mlb boat coxswain. Takes balls
So what are you all doing with the Defenders now that they are being retired?
ive been comparing the dorms at each of the Service Academies. this is fascinating.
Which is the best and worst
