I honestly don't understand why those guys would want to play roller. I guess it's sorta different, except in all the ways it is, none of them are better.
It's fun
Pro tip. When the guy tried to lift his stick, he uaed a little known technique when you cime down high on your opponents stick, leaning on it so it pushes the stick into his body, creating space so Bedard could then slide his blade/stick down to recover the puck. He also pivots his body shielding the puck. Once tou learn how to do this, it makes defending stick lifts pretty easy, especially in corners and aling the boards.

There is zero chance the hawks allow this. Old footage. Could you imagine your star forward gets hurt playing roller hockey while he is making millions of dollars and costs the hawks a possibility of gettjng a wild card lol

Roller leagues are different all over NA and it's different in general from ice. Notably less contact, no offsides or icing. No blue lines, idk if you could tell. 5v5. It's like ice but just less intense i'd say. Dudes with great puck handling can kill it in roller because they can deke and dangle all day and nobody is gonna put them on their ass. Good way to keep your skills up if you're offseason for ice.
Tip cap to the camera person. Nice quality footage here I wish someone would log our league games on film. I forget some of the great plays that happen and would like to keep these memories stashed

Yeah all we had growing up for roller in South Florida were shitty outdoor concrete rinks. Puck did NOT glide like it does on this rink, not that we could pass it like these guys if we were on ice anyways...
He looks big out there but then in the NHL everyone seems to tower over him. Kind of makes sense why they selected Corey Perry to protect him.

Absolutely . Roller is a different animal and bedard def stands out but there’s a few others who REALLY stood out in this reel
Kent Johnson and a few other pros are out there as well. This is like watching NBA players at their local YMCA rec league.

its crazy how good you can be at ice hockey, theres nothing you can do to skate well on pavement, lol. ive never seen that ball before though, what is that?
hard whiffle ball stuffed with a sock, cloth or denim works well. no bounce, moves fast, we love it!
