    nice video overall. but i wouldn't say he had a mediocre racecraft. he has pretty nice recovery drives and overtakings. 2012 abu dhabi, 2012 brasil, 2016 china, 2017 malaysia, 2019 germany are the ones that i remember, and also his lap 1 attack on ricciardo at 2016 japanese gp deserves to be on a museum. in defence of 2017, cars were producing so much dirty air that overtaking is pretty limited. also mercedes had party mode that gave them upper hand and on quali and consequently on track position at sunday. maybe his racecraft is not at the levels of fernando, lewis or max, but i would say he is right behind them. thanks for the video.

    Great video, could you do a video explaining hamilton's driving Style? I'm very curious about His preferences, compared with the rest of the grid if he likes oversteer or understeer

    So, we are just gonna ignore the fact that lewis missed the apex by more than half a meter, when Max had left enough space

    2014-2016 had the most unstable cars since the late 90s no matter whatever you said, and yet he sometimes matched Mercedes pace on merit when nobody expected it. The car was over 1sec off the pace for some of his wins. He remained to be the only driver to have done that multiple times during the peak Mercedes era. Even in 2014 when Vettel didn’t have reliability issues, he still outqualifed Ricciardo by over 0.4s on average. He has the ability to perform at top level even though the car doesn’t suit his style. If you actually analyze the bigger picture, nearly all of his spins correlated to Ferrari’s massive blunder the day before. Monza 2018, was told to toll Raikkonen in qualifying and ended up losing the pole, which left him vulnerable to Hamilton. Suzuka 2018, Vettel had a chance for pole but Ferrari gave him inters on drys and dropped him outside the top 8. USA 2018 when Vettel wanted Ferrari to protest against the 3 place grid penalty on FP1, but they chose not to, and left Vettel outside the top 4 when he doesn’t need anymore troubles. I can go on and on. It’s not about driving styles at all. It’s the frustration of not having a competent team and the machinery to challenge the title he demanded. Like everybody else said, it’s all in the head.

    I actually have the feeling, that the FIA sometimes dices the penalties. I mean, Max in Jeddah 2021 for example just run Lewis fully wide, and then cut the whole corner to somehow stay ahead, and there was no penalty applied until he refused the give the position back properly. And it was only 5 seconds, not 10. So yeah, Magnussen's 10 sec penalty is a joke

  • @marco_1909
    @marco_19093 ай бұрын

    I think they changed the penalty system since this season. Last year alot of drivers complained about 5 being too small. Alot of times the 5 second penalty had no effect since the other driver would be out of that range in a couple of laps. I remember Checo did it multiple times, Russel, Lewis and others as well

  • @iJohn_YT

    He mentioned that the track conditions in Q3 were a lot different from Q2. By doing his first lap of Q3 on the used tyre, he was not fully comfortable with the car on the new tyres with the Q3 conditions so it was scruffy. Verstappen having a huge tow didn't help him either. Qualifying is 0pts after all. We will see in race. P.S. This is probably the best F1 channel, no toxic casuals in comments and great telemetry analysis. Keep it up bro

    Fan of your work but i disagree about the 2018 germany. I dont think it is Vettel's fault. Don't know did you follow whole race but the team made him the drive with the broken front wing since the beginning of the race also pit stop strategy was not good and with broken wing and bad tires he made so many great laps. He conserned about the car and strategy but the team just simply said push. Also about the later spins yeah it would be so great if they never happened but toward to mid-season ferrari could not upgrade the car. Upgrades didnt work even some occasions they had to return the old parts. Besides in 2018 season ferrari made strategy mistakes almost in every race. Strategy was far behind Mercedeses also the car. So Vettel had to deal with unstable car, bad strategies, carrying the flag of ferrari and taking all the fires first. And i think this bad image is made by the media which is worships hamilton. If Vettel was the problem after his departure did ferrari win championship or solved problems and why no one questioned leclers mistakes as Vettel's. I really dont understand that. I think he was just unlucky to be in ferrari in that years but he fought and tried, i think this is the most important thing.

    If you ask me, the whole track limit situation is a joke. It's ridiculous, that just a thin white line decides if you are on track or not. It's just not natural at all. There has to be a change
