Gloves are a good idea to protect your hands from micro spines. You can’t see them but you’ll sure know they’re there! Very painful and annoying. Best way I’ve found to get them out is stand in strong sunlight and use the little tweezers from a Swiss Army knife. The micro spines are really hard to see but the strong light helps a lot. Avoid all the discomfort by wearing gloves. Have fun with your prickly pear growing!

I mounted mine on this exact kind of wood slice, but after I watered it and let it dry, the wood cracked! Is this a better method? I used nails and fishing line.

good ideas, well done (i think). however, i have trouble believing that you can get beautiful antique windows in such great shape for free (you'd have to be extremely lucky or own/know a construction company that does renovation projects). but ok, no youtube video without a little fake here and there i guess ..
@VintageChameleon7 күн бұрын
Nothing fake about this. I collected windows from the side of the road for months. Go out on big garbage day in your area! I was extremely diligent in always looking and searching. Only thing I had to buy was the door which I got from a reuse store!

Could’ve just put Chock or toothpaste on the bolt tips to mark position, then push the board down on it.

My Nephew has them growing in his yard here in NJ. Last May He gave me some to plant in my yard. They not only took, but bloomed and had babies. It’s winter now and they’re drooped, but he said they come back. Hopefully! I want to get one in my house to add to my other cacti.
