Yes, it's called "colour sanding" because it changes the look of the paint/finish.

Great video guys. I'm in UK, and busy restoring a 1933 Armstrong Siddeley 15HP Long saloon, which has this Startix as standard. I have two such 12volt units but nowhere can I find tech info on the guts. In your video, you mentioned "four pages" of tech info. Any chance you could send me over a pdf copy? Finding stuff on 30s cars here is like finding hens teeth. Be mighty obliged if you can help.

Thanks for posting. My bike ran smoothly, yet had no power or speed. 3 mechanics were busy near a campfire, testing theories, eating burgers and praying for inspiration. Lou arrived, joined us, accepted a burger and listened to our discussion. Then, In perfect Lou 'boolean logic', "if the engine has the correct parts and what you say is correct, you will find the needle valve seat has moved up slightly". That was 2014, I still ride that old BSA often and aways smile and think back on the day Lou Brero fixed my bike. Thanks Lou :-)

Im getting very frustrated with mine.. My "Park" seems to not be at the end of a rotation, it's more like in the middle, so unless I position the wipers in the middle of the windscreen, the wipers will go off the side of the glass.

Hi my friend, How does a frameless glass motor work?, when you want to open it automatically the glass drops a little, do you know?
@orbisaustralis7608 Жыл бұрын
harmonics !! thats it , check all the electrolytic capacitors on it using a ESR meter , change them if they are weird looking , crooked or look like they are leaking , its standard practice when bringing old electronics to life again , its called recapping. tachometers have Low pass filters to avoid reading harmonics instead of the real signal, those low pass filters are usually built around an operational amplifier , thats what is called an active low pass filter , when the capacitor fails , they will just pass any signal.

Got to be the craziest and over engineered way ever to control flaps! I think you're the only person in the world who can repair these. I wonder how long a working example can be expected to stay that way?? Mine are now all swapped out for electric operated replacements.
