28:00 This is like a videogame where it takes all the skills you've learnt throughout the game and throws them all into one final gruelling level. 42:00 Seems Tom had the same thought.

I know this is old now, but your brother certainly has questionable foraging skills lol, eating unripe crab apples, what he thinks was burdock didnt look like burdock to me, it looked more like hogweed. the nuts were nowhere near ready to be edible, and its a bloody good job you discarded the mushrooms not being sure of them. The fishing was unfortunate but those worms could have made a huge difference to you both if you gathered a load of them after failing to catch fish. if you had dried them out until they become hard, ground them up into a powder to add to the berries and things you were eating. That would have provided the protein boost and wouldn't have tasted bad. Dandelions if you come across them are good survival food, all parts of it being edible, and the root makes a good coffee substitute after being roasted, or to add a coffee flavour to your other plants. Elder trees usually have wood ear mushrooms growing on them. I always keep a few stock cubes in my survival kit for these occasions so things dont taste as bad. with lack of stock cubes you could have made broths rather than fry everything. Some plants just shouldn't be fried as it changes the compounds inside them further increasing the risk of sickness. Some plants like the nettles need to be boiled twice changing the water for fresh water in between boils, you both seem to have made yourself sick not by the lack of carbs, but by the lack of proper preparation of the plants. for the fishing, if you ever do this again, you should make banklines. Length of line with multiple hooks tied up it all baited. Just throw the bank lines in the water and stake the end into the ground. This allows you to go off and find other food while the banklines passively fish for you. Just dont get caught by a bailiff or game keeper doing this as you will get fked for it. All in all though, you got a taste of survival, which like your straight line missions you have gained vital knowledge in survival without putting yourself in any real life threatening situations ( this being said though plants without proper knowledge can kill you ) Even wild garlic ( ramson ) has a deadly counterpart that also grown in amongst wild garlic. theres only 3 real ways to tell them apart, before they flower if you pick what you think is wild garlic but it doesnt have the distinct onion/galic smell to it, dont eat it, thats its deadly twin. if it has 2 broad leaves growing out of 1 stem, thats the deadly twin. Once it flowers, real wild garlic has white flowers that fan open outwards, while the deadly twins flowers resemble bluebell flowers but white, in the way that the droop. I do believe you have eaten the deadly twin once before on one of your straight line missions. you were jokingly doing a bear grylls impression and munched on a wild garlic leaf, but you said it tasted weird and your mouth was burning for a long time afterwards. I only discovered your videos a couple of days ago, must say im not really interested in the geoguessing stuff but im a big fan of your straight line missions so i have subscribed which i normally dont do for anyone. Finished watching all 4 wales attempts, Scotland, Norway and im now just about to go make a brew and watch your crossing england vids. Please do more of these straight lines and survival trials.

Yet again, phenomenal episode. Yes, Archie and Adam got VERY lucky with their specific line, and their editing style and lack of regular footage or good narration makes it look easy, but YOUR videos (along with Marcus') are the most entertaining. The scripting you do is brilliant. Props Tom.

For god’s sake, please don’t try this at home. This is a lesson on how to die in the outdoors. Most of that outer clothing is cotton and sucks warmth right out of you, plus if you roll an ankle you’re not keeping warm by moving and the camo will mean nobody will be able to find you before you perish from hypothermia. In this kind of remote area you absolutely must carry a PLB and a pack full of dry, wam clothing and a tarp and space blanket. Please never never dress like this in the outdoors, even if you “need” to stay concealed. Tom was extremely lucky not to drop the GPS, have his phone not work and fall down a hole unable to move. His team would not be able to locate him and he would be delirious from hypothermia within minutes. Certain death, I’m not exaggerating.

With all that preparation, you chose to wear the worst attire. Wasn’t waterproof of wind proof. You made some dumb decisions imo. Why not bring extra clothes so each time you saw the van you could have changed. Staying dry is key and you didn’t account for any of it is mind boggling

There are red flashlights for night. Those are better since our eyes cann't see red so good. This means you won't get blinded by the reflection and still be able to see what is infront of you. The best part is, that it won't draw attention to you since most people will have a hard time seeing it from far away. In febuary I was in sweden when me and my friends went outside in the night we used red flashlights to not disturb our airbnb landlords.

Mate buy yourself a compass they cost like a quid off ebay, you dont have to charge them and they can never be wrong. The amount of times you say in these vids turns out i was heading the wrong way or i dont know which way to go couldve been very easily avoided. Either way good quality content really liking them so far 👍

I know it’s a bit late but I believe the road seen in the old photo is actually off to the right of the road you were on when you found the angle. I believe this because the mountain was rotated counterclockwise in google earth compared to the mountain seen in the old photo meaning the photo must have been taken more to the right.
