You sit there reclined, cross-legged, chest proud, as though you were doing HIM a favor having him on you platform. "Why don't you take a seat there John?" Maybe you are overcompensating because of nerves or whatever, but this kind of subtle irreverence towards our elders is too often overlooked. It's just wrong. I daresay this generation of leaders will gain no respect if they themselves cannot show it. From a 30-something year old.
For the Believer… People tend to exaggerate man’s ability. People claim the sovereignty of god but idolize and lift up man above the power of God. Mans free will, man’s choices, man’s desires, men’s apparent God giving gift of free thought and unlimited free choice. Reality- You cannot undo, change, shift or influence the outcome of the sovereignty of God. Truth- The sovereignty of God overcomes our blunders, our mistakes, our fumbles. Cold reality- Everything played out in the linear time was preplanned - foreknown and predestined by God himself. So the next time you worry about screwing up a witness to an unbeliever remember that even that screwup was a part of the plan. Never dare to assume that your own contribution caused your salvation. You did not cooperate with Grace You did not learn or realize who God was. You weren’t allowed anything beyond what God allowed first. So why would an unworthy sinner have any kind of authoritative power over the power and sovereignty of God? Either God is a Big God or he’s a god that needs your free will help. Remember that the next time you share the word of God with an unbeliever and remember …while the whole world lies in the power of the evil one, the redeemed AND unredeemed lie in the power of the sovereignty of God and every word uttered from your mouth is the plan and action of God. Don’t just be bold, be confident that every word spoken is not yours but his. Your mistakes are your perceptions. They neither undo nor shift or change the outcomes of God. That is reformed theology.

I am a Bible believer women, I believe in all the scriptures , including speaking in tongues, all gifts of the holy soirit , women preaching all that , but I love John piper so much, I feel so blessed and fed by his teachings, it’s not about this denomination or that , but if we all love Jesus and agree in the words of God , no matter our differences we still brothers and sisters in Christ. There's something not quite right in John's attitude if he has to fill even the last 3 hours in his day with works. Where's the time for relationships, his wife and family and neighbours, space for relationship with God. This seems to be a very works based ethic he is living by.

The only people who suffer in not only total obscurity, but with the approbation of people like John Piper, are the unborn. Unseen, unheard, without knowing, they are sent to their graves in silent, screaming pain. I have singled Dr John Piper out for criticism. Why? Because Piper is a total, thorough hypocrite the likes of which I have never seen before. Never before has a man so closely identified with the pro life movement been responsible for so many deaths. When I attended Piper’s church I was mesmerized by the most powerful, truly the most inciting prolife sermons I’d ever heard. Now I realize what an utter and complete fraud Dr John Piper is. Does he think that abortion is murder? Oh yes! Is it important to stand against it? Oh yes! But only if you don’t have to vote for a sinner to end it. When John Piper said being against Trump is more important than life and freedom, for me, he crossed a line, the biggest, thickest line that could ever be. Why don’t I focus my ire on those who are known to be pro choice? Because they are known, and therefore they do not deceive Christians. Dr John Piper, on the other hand, deceives Christians en masse. He is a wolf in sheep’s clothing, clothing that is near-perfect in its ability to beguile. The fact that John Piper is willing to sacrifice millions of children to achieve such ephemeral a goal as the defeat of a single man is an egregious crime against a thrice holy God. For those of you who would claim I shouldn’t say anything against this man, I’d ask you to put yourself in the position of a child in the womb. Something I don't understand about the American cultures is how casually they speak to their elders. I'm South African,and we are taught to talk with respect towards elders,regardles of their status or position,simply because they are older. Not judging,just observing tue cultural differences. I think it's also why the American churches has lost the Fear of the Lord . It's sad.

Im so grateful for this . I have many sinful thoughts. I have told myself that its temptation. I full into the sin by practicing it. It gives me a good feeling at first, but then aferwards im feeling bad about it because i know it to be wrong. I no longer want to continue . Thanks for this .

That’s now ten people who face 11 years in jail for praying for the unborn. “Evangelicals, let me tell you another tragedy that comes with Piper’s never-Trumpism: There are 6 people who have been jailed as a result of trespassing on Planned Parenthood’s sacred killing grounds. They have been given sentences of over ten years. Piper was arrested for doing exactly the same thing (Jan 20, 1989). He was released after a couple hours. Three of the people who are jailed are women over 70 years old. They will be well into their 80’s when released. One woman is 88 years old, and did time in a communist concentration camp. These are death sentences! Do you see why I hold Christians who couldn’t vote for Trump in absolute derision? As Obama said, “elections have consequences.” Indeed they do.

God uses the choices you make for His purposes and glory. Joseph’s brothers freely tossed him into the pit and sold him into slavery, God used their evil deeds to plant Joseph to eventually save many nations from the famine. He knew their evil hearts and allowed what transpired to pass with a greater purpose than anyone could guess. So too with our lives. We freely mess up and make choices but God already knows we are going to do all of that and it’s baked within His plan.
These prayers will take you out of these cycles of guilt and shame. I am a practicing Catholic and to join efforts is what it is all about. Jesus I trust in you, take care of everything . Amen

How can you live day after day without serious prayers and think that your battelings and living under suppressive temptations on your own.
