A lot of bad and good information on this video
does this apply to tomato hornworms?
You have zero clue how to keep a box turtle……give these up to someone else
This is a terrible enclosure holy crap
Most of the hornworms that you are showing seem to have a BLACK? tail (or horn) which is the Tomato Hornworm. The Tabacco Hornworm has a RED tail. They should all just be called "Hormworms". I have found them mush easier to find and get rid of when I have the time to trim my plants better. Also, Eggplants seem to actually be their Favorite and they are much easier to spot and eliminate from those. I now plant eggplants near all my pepper and tomato plants because of this. This is another good one. kzread.info/dash/bejne/pqmkqMeFfqe2Yrg.html
They are a real pest
@debm2252 12 hours ago What a fascinating and well researched presentation! Love the history too! Now I am conflicted. The moths are such beautiful interesting creatures and I’m always interested in saving them but the hornworms are so destructive, taking down a bell pepper plant in a day before I notice. Now I find one worm covered in wasp eggs and my compassion has me at odds with Mother Nature.
Had to kill these suckers on my tomato plant. One day my plant was thriving and healthy then literally one day later it’s devoured and I notice little green grenade looking pellets all over the floor and sure enough these giant worms are completely destroying my tomato plant :(
So cute
❤ thank you
a wire floor is the worst as they can catch their claws on the wire and sometimes pull them out!! they need a substrate deep enough for them to dig and burrow.
why have you not either clipped their way too long claws or given them slate stone so they can file them down on their own???
Zzzzzzz.....
Very thorough, information I was looking for, new facts I am happy to now know, and more in depth discussion that is beyond my non-entomologist scope. Thank you so much for the very informative, very complete video!

Why are they called turtle when they look like a tortoise and live on land
Did not expect a good vid about feeder worms. Nice!
Very nice. As nice as Yerkes...
This was really educational and interesting. I wish you made more of these videos!!
Do you have any information on the Catalpa Sphinx Moth cycle.
They are called box turtles because they are able to close themselves in completely. Unlike other species of turtles. They are able to enclose themselves, or box themselves in. That is why they are called a common box turtles. There are other things that are wrong with the video, however I won't go into those. Please be sure that you have all the correct information before releasing a educational video. Thank you for the video however. Indred Cold...
It's amazing how scientists back down to 100 years ago making a equatorial mounted telescope work with some simple struture in a smart way.
Watch Golden State turtle to care for your turtle. This guy is uninformed. Using wire cages is a TERRIBLE IDEA

Que bello. What a beauty.
Fascinating 🧐
Thank you for this demonstration I have changed my perspective on tomato horn worms. I will allow them to eat.
Everything was great until you showed the pictures of the ones that didn't pupate properly because they weren't properly housed and taken care of. Looks to me like the environment was too dry for them. Hopefully that wasn't you
this guy voiced the plumbus commercial on rick and morty
Super informative and helpful! Thank you so much!
yeah this is cool ad all, but yours is in great need for a nail and beak trim, if you know so much shouldint you know your turtle needs that??
Very poor bonsai work, they don't use the true art, they are exploiting trees for personal profit
This guy thinks he knows what "true art" is lmao
The EPA, FDA & department of agriculture should be held responsible for the corruption of genetically modifying. Americans are being poisoned by all the genetically modified grains.
Hello How you gonna know if the wings will dry before inflation?
This is the best and most clear video on this hornworm
Excellent job, Gerald and Conrad. You've both done Chabot proud!
Can they eat celery because mine seem to like it
Thank you, very informative
Bro how did you get all this information? Why do you like scorpions? I love them... why do you like them?
I have four pupae that are due to come out any day now. :D
How do I know when they are ready to pupate?
@@dandiisun6217 Late reply, but anyway. When they're ready to pupate, they'll have a black pulsating line on their spine, put them in a container full or earth or paper towels, cover the container with something so it could be really dark for caterpillar and wait about 7 or 8 days to take the pupa out from the earth.
Amazing! Thankyou so much for the information!
not the best presentation but definitely the best information by far i have found on youtube and should be higher up when you look up information for hornworms - btw not saying it was a bad presentation just not a lot of flair lol still loved the video and really appreciate you taking the time to make it
