    I have the motor 49 controlling my xr18 - but when I change a setting using the app, the motorized faders don't follow. It is like there is a one way connection from my Motor 49 keyboard to the XR18 - but I have a two headed midi in/out cable going between the xr18 and the motor 49. Thoughts?

  • @meti6505
    @meti6505Ай бұрын

    Hi. Check your MIDI setup in the XR18 app. Be sure that TX is checked for DIN to insure that the Mixer is sending MIDI messages out to Motor. On the Motor be sure to Plug the DIN cable into MIDI in and not in Merge/thru. Insure that MIDI channels match on both the mixer and the keyboard. Unfortunately I’ve sold the Motor. So I can’t test or debug. Hope this helps. Good luck.

    Yep I found that... And it works! But then I found that there isn't a midi command for mute all or to do a mute group or DCA... But it is nice to have the functionality that it brings! Thanks!

    Hi. I’m using Samsung T7 1 GB. I Connect it using USB 3 port on my Mac. I experienced that it is saver, faster and more reliable to format the T7 in APFS than ExFAT.

    How to get Kontact in MainStage 3?

  • @meti6505
    @meti650510 ай бұрын

    Create a new MainStage Patch. Create a new MainStage Channelstrip using a MIDI Instrument. In the Channelstrip in the Input Section, select AU-Instrument->Kontakt. You can find it starting at 2min:18 in this video.

    Would Mac Mini M2 with 8GB be ok for Kontakt? Or you still recommend 16GB. I don’t record or produce, but only play, and I want to be able to load lots of patches and be able to change them quickly

  • @meti6505
    @meti650511 ай бұрын

    In your case I would still recommend 16GB if you can afford it. It would probably work with 8GB, but with heavy swapping to and streaming samples from the SSD, which according to some KZreadrs might wear your SSD. If you load the minimum of samples into memory (configurable in Kontakt) and stream from SSD, I would recommend to store your sample library on a fast external SSD connected thru USB 3 or Thunderbolt. It’s way cheaper than internal Apple disk and wear (if any) happens on external drive.

    Who realistically uses that much sample libraries in a single project? If you are a film scorer or orchestral composer, you already know what you want….more sample = more ram. And you already know you are a professional in the industry, it your bread & butter, you get paid a nice salary and you can afford the best of the best. But an average user or semi-advanced professional in the creative industry, I don’t see how even 8 gb ram is a bottle-neck. I’ve seen all these tests performed and nobody realistically has 500 tabs open in chrome while watching 4 8K videos simultaneously and working on 500 layers on the biggest canvas in Photoshop. Like who does that? You should be living amongst a highly advanced alien civilization in another galaxy if you are that kind of user. If you are solely a gamer, I can understand the need for more RAM but even then most AAA titles run just fine on 8 gb ram macs. So 8 gb is plenty for most people. If you are professional, you already know.

    Congrats sir. you are a solid swimmer. Care to share at what age you learnt to swim? I'm 40 years old and learnt to swim freestyle less than a year ago and I find it quite challenging, although I can comfortably swim 1500m in the pool

  • @meti6505

    Thank you Luciano. I always loved water and I learned to swim very early as a kid. I did swim in competitions until age 21. It's never too late to learn swimming. Technique is very important. I strongly suggest to take swim courses to learn good technique right from start. This will reward you later. There are a lot of resources on the web, too. Check www.swimsmooth.com/ and their swim type classification. Keep on the good swim spirit.

    I have a macbook pro M1 8go and sometimes it is impossible for me to charge kontakt on fl studio, i dont know if it is because of my 8go of RAM or maybe something else but i have this rainbow circle replacing my mouse and it often crash when this happend

  • @meti6505
    @meti65052 жыл бұрын

    Hi Roja. The problem could also be that you run FL-Studio and Kontakt in different modes. E.g. FL Studio in Arm native and Kontakt in Rosetta 2 mode. As far as I've seen FL Studio 20.8.4 is running natively. For Kontakt you need version 6.7 to run natively on Apple M1 chip. Update to these versions to run both in M1 native. You should try to run both components in same mode. You can check the mode in activity monitor. If it shows "Intel" you're running in Rosetta 2 compatibility mode. If it shows Apple, you're running natively in M1 mode. Try to run Kontakt in stand alone mode (not as Plug-In within FL Studio).
