    Your cichlid tank looks great! Your information is great. I, also, live in South Florida. My fish store is telling me to invest in an RO system for my water changes. I usually change about 50% weekly. (Have done this for years.) They insist that the change is far too much and I need to use remineralized RO water as our water in Florida is so bad with the chlorine and chloramines. Do you have any thoughts on this? Thanks so much. I do not want to harm my fish (two tanks--75 g South American and a 125 g clown loach tank). Thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

    I have my frys in a 75g running fx4, fluval 407 and a wave maker for surface agitation , is that good enough or I need a bubbler? .

    Good video. Brings back memories. I used to know a guy in the late 80s early 90s who was a marine entomologist for a large electric company local to me, He is probably dead now or in his 100s. He had a basement full of Africans and went on collecting expeditions to the great lakes of Africa bringing back rarities. I had a line on the newest and rarest of the lake cichlids. I made decent money with a few 55 gallon tanks just letting them do their thing with no intervention and selling to local shops.

    Wouldn't you want to temperature match your refill water? As well as pH and hardness? Aren't these Malawi? I don't know how you keep them so happy without enough rock to have them hide. 🤔

    Hi, I just find out that the heater shows an E-1 in the display. I don't know what that means and I cannot find an operation manual. Does anyone knows how to solve this? Thanks!

    E-1 error means the water temperature running through the heater is 1 degrees higher than the temperature it's set too.

    Any idea how to find the bioballs for the Sun Sun? Cleaning cannister and seeing none in the cannister? Thanks! Also, if cleaning but still fish in the tank, and replacing the deteriorated white pads (okay to do at one time?) do I rinse the other filters out with just other aquarium water? Thanks so much!

    Hey bro, quick question. Im adding like 4 new African Cichlids in my already established tank. How much Stability should I dose for adding new fish?

  • @southfloridaafricancichlid6423
    @southfloridaafricancichlid64232 жыл бұрын

    Hey. It all depends on how big the tank is and how many fish are already in there. As well as the size of the fish being added. For example if you have a 120 gallon tank with 30 fish already in there adding 4 should be fine and shouldn't need stability.

    @@southfloridaafricancichlid6423 thank you for the speedy reply. I have a 55gal with about 13 small/medium peacock cichlids. Im adding about 5-6

    I would add whatever does the bottle says for adding new fish. The only bad thing that can happen is getting an ammonia spike from not enough beneficial bacteria for the new fish. In that case you can dose a little prime, and it will detoxify it.
