    It is necessary to lubricate the cone under the screw, so that it is easier to remove later, tested in practice

    Is keeping the oil sensor connected the same as you going to make my engine cut off if the oil shakes around while I’m riding? I’ve heard of people having to keep theirs disconnected

    I had that issue taking sharp turns down rivers. If I had to do it again, I would definitely bypass that sensor

    I treated this little engine like a red-headed step child and didn't think twice about it. Definitely can't do that with a traditional outboard. Plus the parts are dirt cheap and readily available.

    @@PolkFishin You are correct. Almost any engine will run on American "gasohol" of the recommended octane and suffer no ill effects - even ones with carburetors. The problem only rears its ugly head after an engine has been stored, or maybe even just sat idle for a couple of weeks, when the ethanol crystallizes and clogs the carburetor. And unfortunately, the smaller the carb, the faster it will happen and the more profound the problem will be. Curiously, this does not happen to nearly the same degree in fuel injected engines. It has to do with carburetors having a plethora of small jets and passageways inside them along with a pool of fuel that, through various air vents etc, are all pretty much exposed to atmospheric conditions. ...So just be aware of this and take proper precautions when not using or storing a carbureted motor, that's all. By the way... great video!👍Thanks for posting it, and I didn't mean to hijack it or sidetrack you.

    Been thinking about putting one on my 14' Lowe for hard to get fishing areas and what size would you recommend on motor and kit?

  • @PolkFishin
    @PolkFishin11 ай бұрын

    Medium kit would probably be best, but I had a 22hp (with a large kit) on a 14 footer and it was very fast. The only problem I had was my transom flexing when i would gun it. If your transom can handle it, then put on a 22hp large kit

    Great presentation and info. Have 15 hp Johnson. Barely used . I will be using on a creek to catfish and put out /take in fishing lines. No log jumping or mudd running but there are a few honey holes that are tough to get at. Question ? Do you think my Johnson is good for my needs or a 6.5 Preditor? I got the Johnson from a friend at a steal of a deal. Thinking about selling itnfor a set up like yours. Thanks and again, great video for us rookies.

    I'm stuck on the kill switch, I bought the predator 459 and it has electric start. How can you tie that one in?

  • @PolkFishin
    @PolkFishin2 жыл бұрын

    Locate the wires for your engines On/Off switch and tie into that. You'll want to wire it so that if the kill switch is pulled, it opens the circuit like if you simply switched the engine to "off". Does that make sense?
