My name is Lisa and my channel is mostly about Food, Homemaking and the Simple Life! On this channel we Shop for Groceries and check prices, Cook, Preserve, Practice Food Storage, and Explore the Simple Life.
I live in Canada and my family is from the Calabria region of Italy.
This gave me exposure to a lot of good food growing up, and I love cooking inspired by the way I was taught by my traditional Italian mother, using simple, seasonal and flavorful ingredients. My dad was a depression era kid and my mom was a WW2 kid, so frugal living was also a big part of their lives. Many of their habits, thankfully, are serving me well in my adulthood :)
Though Italian food is my specialty, I also love to draw inspiration from different world cuisines and enjoy making pantry meals.
I love learning from others and keeping life simple!

Love you and your videos. I just wanted to share a tip after watching a 7yo video (10 food items you’re probably throwing away) the “dollar tree” stores have wonderful red silicone spatulas that help me clean out jars and they come in two sizes. The red w/white polka dot is a fav , gingham I think would really compliment your beauty !
Beautiful and so peacefully shared. I just happened to be taking my blood pressure readings before and during this video. Needless to say, my BP was lower the second time, after listening partway through your presentation. A much-needed moment of peace and mindfulness. Thank you~

Oh my! Why did I not think of the hot water bottle trick?! I do the peppermint spray (kept in the fridge) but never thought of the cold water bottle! I’m tolerating menopause hot flashes right now and combined with the az heat it’s not fun! Thanks for the great ideas!

Hi Lisa! Love the chamomile bath idea!!!!! We are in the middle of quite a heatwave in NY! Gotta get the hot water bottle out. I would put it in the fridge before filling with the crushed ice. May stay cooler longer! Saluti! S.gra D.

Wonderful! My mom would always do it plain but I like to add a bit of sugar and cinnamon to it ...it's so yummy when it's allowed to sit for awhile for the flavors to marry :)

Thank you so much for these nice tips. We have a picknick planned for tonight and I cannot wait :) Bonus Tip for the peppermint spray: add a few drops of almond oil or some other fatty oil (2-3 drops are enough). Essential oils open up their flavor bouquet better, when they are combined with some sort of base oil. Always shake well before applying, as the oil and water will separate in the fridge. Also a small warning: please do not use pure essential peppermint oil on kids ages 8 and under, as it can cause respiratory problems. (also if you are co-sleeping with a baby or toddler, steer clear of pure essential peppermint oil!) (I don't want to seem "moralizing" in any way, but I have a degree in aroma therapy and know how potent pure essential oils are, and that they do cause side effects, when overdosed or used incorrectly) All the best to you dear Lisa, I am looking forward to your next video.

I brew coffee with a dash of vanilla, cinnamon and 2 cloves in with the grounds. It makes a Delicious flavored coffee. Then keep a pot pot or pitcher of it in the fridge. It does make such a great iced coffee

Oh boy, Tricia, do I ever! Few people know this about me but I am a bona fide fume head lol! Right now I am enjoying 2 fragrances for summer: amzn.to/3XDVzQ5 Guerlain Champs elysees which is a beautiful, romantic, ladylike mimosa floral which is like Paris in the spring...I also am currently enjoying Clinique Happy Heart which is a clean, fresh, aquatic floral with just a hint of sweetness....both are lovely :)

I've never tested Chanel Eau Premiere...sounds intriguing....I used to wear both opium and Coco in years past....they were lovely...I also have a soft spot for the Guerlains... Shalimar (though I wear it rarely and I need to be in the right mood for it) and Insolence in winter... Looks like we may have similar taste lol!

I was looking forward to a good Summer, even in our Arizona heat with its 100F + temps. , but sadly my summer will be consumed by construction on our home.This project was only recently discovered, and I had to hire a construction company to do it. Our best time of year is from November through April when our weather is amazing. One nice thing though, is we can swim all year long. Good tips for staying cool. I think i'll make the coffee ice cubes, as I love my coffee. 🥰🍋🍒🍑💐💗✝
