I stream flight simulator footage IL2 Great Battles and occasionally War Thunder Sim. I am starting my flight simulator journey from having played games such as Red Baron, Aces over the Pacific / over Europe, and Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe back in the 90s.
Suggestions on content are very welcome.

Just a heads up, I think you are applying your wind in the bomb site the wrong way. Heading 230 with wind coming from 280 gives 50 degrees off the right side of the nose. You can see in the bomb site how the ground is moving diagonally which shows the drift is not accounted for correctly. A shame about the stream snipping 😢
I've been trying to figure out the windage for a while now. Thank you for this.
That’s a Bf 109 G6/AS right?
Yes, I was specifically flying the G6AS for these flights.
machine guns do not fire because the screw does not spin, they shoot synchronously through the screw and the faster the blades spin, the higher the rate of fire of the machine guns. The gun fires because it is located further than the screw BEHIND IT, do not forget about the MW-50.
I see. That explains it.
the 50 cal pilot kills are broken. a couple rounds always kills the pilot, the game is broken
I have noticed that they do happen a lot, but not excessively so and they only happen when your cockpit is exposed to the fire.
Great shot
Yeah, he held still for me.
How's numbers on the box nowadays? This kinda makes me want to come back.
They are decent. Come on back, bring your friends!
excuse my ignoance, are you playing a high tier FW-190 in this video?
It is the FW190-D9. It could be considered a high-tier FW190. It's one of the later models. In War Thunder, I think it's Tier 4, but this is IL-2.
@@blackcatactual Thank you, i thought I recognised the canopy/windshield, I only have the A-1. BR 3.0. just so you know KZread thinks you re playing War Thunder lmao. What IL-2 game doyou have? I have Cliffs of Dover on DVD-ROM just havent played in ages
@@PotentialAutist42069I'm playing IL2 Great Battles :)
is that a fw190?
I'm flying a FW190 D9, the target is a Spitfire Mk IX.
Great flying! Hey I got IL-2 and every plane except the ta152, whats the best way to find a flying group and get started in multiplayer? I really want to fight against real people now haha

@@blackcatactual thanks a bunch! I just joined Ill be on probably tomorrow night
Takes lots of practice
Yeah. I'll keep at it.
Nice flying, live to fight another day. Any chance you could upload these at a higher resolution?
It goes up to 1440p60, but yes, I am still trying to figure out my streaming settings.
@@blackcatactual Oh I see that now, when I left my comment I could only get it up to 720p.
I've done that so many times
It's so much easier to cook an engine in DCS. Haha! But yeah, I've cooked so many engines in IL-2 as well.
Do you guys have a Discord?
Yeah man, everyone is welcome here: discord.gg/k6Sd6Ey9ay
@@blackcatactual sweet! Thanks! I joined. Same name as here. What time do y'all normally fly?
It depends. What's your time zone?
Hmu next time you're on!
Will do.
Uh, where do I hit you up and how do I find you? haha!
@@blackcatactual pretty sure you already shot me down in Combat Box. I'm in the discord, Wingly_Actual
I think you made a mistake at 7:06 that's worth analyzing. You make a pass on the mosquito, no hits, that's fine. But then as you overshoot him, you turn towards him which puts you right in front of him. Then you reverse your turn and put yourself in front of him again. At that point you're in a scissors with him which means you're wasting energy maneuvering.
I see, I'll give it a look.
I see you, not die allied Schwein! 😂😂😂
5:15 "I'm gonna run" Doesn't work against a mustang :P I think you should've went into a cloud and try to lose him that way if you want to disengage
I realize that, but given that he was going upward when I dived, I thought I could put just enough distance between us. I was wrong.
@@blackcatactual Yeah remember that if he went up he's coming down and 51s get there speeds up instantly in dives
Smoked em 🎉
It took a few passes man. Those tempests are tough!
Nice editing! A little feedback: at the start of the video, I thought it wasn't loading due to the still image of the thumbnail.
Got it. I should animate the thumbnail more or shorten the thumbnail duration.
The objects on the field was happy to watch how patience you was
Yes, do you think they'd be happy to watch me get shot down if I tried to turn with the Mustang instead and lose speed?
@@blackcatactual you're a Dora, you can easily throw a short fight with a Mustang, especially since he had rocket pods xd Besides, it only worked because there was just one enemy around who didn't really care for you apart from dodging
I'm still learning, but yeah. I was being careful because he had buddies in the area. ps. I watch your channel quite a bit.
I have had the same thing happen, ilstats shows me with several hits, but none recorded sortie details
Sad
Hi Are you associated to Frog Actual? I note on the forum he said he lost access to his IL-2 purchases on steam. I note this was a few days after I myself was banned again from multiplayer. I criticised Enigma on the 13th July, then on the 14h July I found my multiplayer list was empty.... Then about 5 days later (19th??) Frog Actual's post in the forum. Looks like support closed his ticket without resolving the issue. To me it looks like Frog Actual has been unfairly and erroneously targeted by the 1C company for simple similarity in name to myself, even though there is zero connection between he and I....
Not associated with Frog Actual at all.
Imo kills are never stolen in IL2, they are only confirmed. I care more that the enemy that wanted to shoot me can no longer shoot me.
Keyword is "somewhat" Kills can still be stolen in IL2. If you shoot off someone's rudder and they fall to the deck and hit the ground, they count as your kill. However, if you do the same and someone else shoots them before they hit the ground, it counts as an assist. It's why people still dive at falling planes. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
That was satisfying to watch
Been working on my coordinated turns. I find I have more energy overall that I can use for shenanigans like this.
So I'll just throw out a few things. I will say I don't have much experience flying the 152 but here's everything I can think of. If turn performance seems worse than expected the first thing to consider is weight i.e. fuel. Again I'm not too familiar with this plane but based on the stats the full fuel is heavier (relatively) than some other planes. e.g. full fuel load 388 kg 190 D9 and 736 kg for TA-152. I couldn't get a great look at your fuel gauge but it looks to me like your fuel level is quite high. Second is battle damage. Obviously only matters after you took that hit towards the end and certainly when it caused the wing to break off. Some say that the adjustable stabilizer matters. If wing stalling is your problem then the stabilizer shouldn't be the problem since it should only increase elevator authority but a lot of folks like to go tail heavy on the trim while turning. That's about all I can think of.
I've had some help since this flight and I had the following problems. 1. Not turning coordinated. IE not using the rudder. There is a lot of nose yaw in my rolls, which shows this. 2. I was on full fuel, yes, which I should have reduced given how efficient the TA152 is with its fuel load. 3. After taking hits, my wings snapped. Which I failed to notice early enough to bail out as there was no audio cue. 4. It's quite well documented that the P47's flaps are busted in this game and turn it into a UFO. I've used the TA152 since and have done better with it. Thank you for your help though,
Barca does indeed have good lessons
He does indeed. We're planning to do a series like that and if you'd like to do a video like this, we can as well. Haven't seen you on in a bit, good to see you again! Cheers!
@@blackcatactual Yeah been on the pc less and less
One thing that I've noticed is that 51s spin much less above 250mph. And also flaps are very important here when turnfighting in this plane
This was maybe the 1st or 2nd time I flew up in the 51. I rarely get to fly allies because the allied player population is always higher than the Axis side during late war and I don't want to add to the imbalance. If I had my preference, I would fly the following planes as often as I could: P38 P51 Spitfire BF109 FW190 TA152 I often find myself in the 190, especially the Dora, because I rather like the way it dives and rolls. In a high speed dive, you can roll with anyone and pull sharp to get guns on, which can catch a pilot out if they aren't careful.
Which server?
This was on Finnish Virtual Pilots.
I to have had bad cases of dirt poisoning
It's really the worst.
Don't forget to check 6 more often. Your getting good man
Thanks man!
If "you can't fire me, cuz I quit!" was a pilot.
Apparently he got hit by flak a few moments before and his pilot unalived at that point.
Yo lovin it! More of this stuff this was super helpful!!
Your wish is my command!
I'm down for that
Man I love the cockpit on that thing
It's not the best cockpit, but it's great!
Your cat is great at taxing
The perfect copilot, don't you think?
@@blackcatactual Purrrfect baby 😉
this is the best slideshow I have ever seen lmao
You can thank my cat! haha!
Gotta love the P-38- an American fighter with a 20mm cannon!
Yep, it's my favorite!
You and me should do some 1v1s. Id have to watch this on a screen bigger than my phone to see exactly what's going on but there seemed to be a few small mistakes that added up
It was an annoying and frustrating dogfight. The plane kept constantly wing-stalling at the slightest elevator input and I couldn't understand why. It had never behaved this way with me before. I was flying it the day prior with no issues like this, turning hard in dogfights with Spitfires so I really don't know why it's getting out-turned by a P47 suddenly.
Good content. The P38 can effectively outclimb just about everything at 4100ft/min below 10k. So if you have energy, don't get trapped into a deck turn fight. Hit and run tactics work best. I have a couple hundred hours on Combat Box in the P38 in VR. It's plenty capable when flown correctly. Good job on the video.
Thanks man! It is one of my faves. Maybe we can fly together one of these days.
That was a good fight tho man. They just out did us. We pushed our engines too hard
Yeah, I'm happy with putting up a good fight even if I lose. It's the ones where you get taken out instantly that suck.
Good effort anyway, I would have gotten scared and ran all the way home after taking that damage!
Thanks. I was feeling pretty useless after that, but this is what usually happens. Lots of the other players have way more experience so it feels quite crushing to be wrecked like that.
@@blackcatactual It happens. Especially while escorting. Just get em home
Also I've always felt that the 109 g6 is better for escorting because it's more maneuverable which is better for escorting missions
Rule #1.) Lose sight, lose fight
Yeah, I figured that.

whenever i see good flying i cant help but wonder how? i keep spinning with every sharp bank i do...
@@rockus22 you gotta be gentle with that stick and you gotta understand your aircrafts capabilities, even just a bit. Fly around solo in practice and throw your aircraft into all sorts of maneuvers. If you spin, learn how to recover quickly. (Throttle down, and rudder opposite the spin)
Server?
This was on Finnish Virtual Pilots
It's a fun server just need more people on it. I love early war
That was a great fight
It was wild and great fun. Too bad we both ended up in the dirt with seized engines. HAHA!
what game is this ? DCS ? cuz it really isn't War Thunder haha
This is the IL2 Sturmovik Great Battles series. il2sturmovik.com/ Come play with us!
He just got deleted dude
He actually survived to follow me around for a bit, but his engine was kaput at this point.
Epic fight
It was a slow build up of manic action.
