I had an uncle that was a waist gunner that went through several crews. He did 25 missions over Europe and got his "Lucky Bastard" certificate. When he got home he was so messed up the family had to disconnect the doorbell on their home. The ring was the same that was used to call him to the tarmac.

The kaylon are a pretty terrifying enemy to fight. Like the geth, destruction of their platform doesn't always mean death. So with that much flexibility, that means they can use suicide units with ships that can ram into others.

One thing for people wondering why the Aegis blew up so spectacularly when it hit the ground, though it only slightly lessens the blow: The second part of it to hit was the outer missile ring, which given that it was on duty was probably loaded up with munitions which then went off. If the scene had shown the ring detonated and that detonation destroying the ship, I would be happy. But, unfortunately, there are completely unexplained explosions from the bottom of the ship and also from the freaking jump-creche bays, so I still agree with you that it makes no sense.

My grandfather Tommy Francis Moody was in the 443rd BG he was a ball turret gunner. I was told 52 missions he had the jacket to prove it. He came home alive in 45. He bailed out once over the channel and ditched in a field in England once. He had burns on his legs and a scar on his lung from a shrapnel puncture through it. He would never speak to me or any of us about the War. I only found out what I know from reaching out to the 443rd BG veterans. His crews navigator wrote me a letter and sent me pictures on them. I had no idea and there is no telling the horror he witnessed.

I knew thisnseries was going to like "The Memphis Belle". My father flew in the 8Th on 24s with the 446th BG, the DDay leaders. Look it up. After Jan 45, they became a lead crew. And they never got hit like the movies. Sure, a few holes here and there but for fuck sakes Playtone, stop with the stupid stuff. Dad was a ball turret gunner for 12 missions, then moved to top turret when lead for another 16 missions. Um, no, there were no catastrophic hollywood shit like this. Oh by the way my father was on a mission to Berlin, 120p bombers. His was the fourth ship over, not dropping bombs but chaff, aluminum foil strips to confuse the kraut AA radar. After turning back toward England, he said you could almost walk back to base. The mission went on for two and a half hours of constant bombing of the target.

We are all tiny little pieces like Morty and most of the time in our lives, there isn't or at some point there won't be anybody to jump after us without even thinking even though we rely on those ppl as Morty relies on Rick... However just like Morty did, we learn how to get out of the hole by ourselves and it is much more important to learn to care yourself and leave the hole by yourself than relying on someone will save you or wont leave you alone. It makes us much superior than our previous self. It is still depressing to think that there won't be anyone near you and loving you enough to save you from the hole anyways... i hope everybody finds his/her significant other or live a happily life with their families and friends

This scene reminded me of the ending to Titanic when old Rose had either died or was asleep and then she was either dreaming of or actually went to Titanic Heaven to be with Jack and the rest of the passengers and crew of the Titanic. Seeing Burnham going down memory lane with her crew one last time really reminded me of that moment. When I first saw this scene, I was an emotional wreck. What a BEAUTIFUL ending to the series! ❤️🖖
