    Those bison reflection shots are stunning! Your photo editing made each unique photo in this video pop out. Super cool. I've always wanted to go to Yellowstone, so seeing this video and all your adventures is really ringing a bell in me! I hope I get some shots like yours of all those birds. So much in this video is inspiring; I feel like a broken record lol What would you recommend for a tripod for a telephoto lens btw? I have been looking at some manfrotto ones but I wondered what you'd recommend. I have a sigma 150-600 lens atm!

    What’s your opinion on the S5II vs the S1R for wildlife? Would you rather have cleaner high ISO or more megapixels?

  • @JeremyNeipp
    @JeremyNeipp3 күн бұрын

    It's a close one for me! But, typically I prefer the S1R... partially due to higher MP, but also due to better processing speeds and a much higher resolution viewfinder/screen since I manual focus pretty much everything. In real dark scenarios though, I will sometimes switch to the S5II.

    Dude. Did you forget about the 7d? You’d be hard pressed to find a better wildlife camera for the money. You can literally pick these up for under $200 now. Leaves a lot of options for a used lens.

    I own this lens..... It's without doubt the best lens I've ever used, I've owned all the canon primes...500mm f4 / 600mm f4 etc etc and this beats them all hands down for image quality / stabilization / bokeh etc etc and is just a dream to use and carry. If you're on the fence about buying it, don't be... Just buy it !!!

    Very relaxing viewing. On a side note, how do you find the optical stabilization of the 150-600 to be after the firmware update from Sigma? Apparently they implemented the OS2 algorithm from their 60-600, which was a definite improvement from their prior lenses.

  • @JeremyNeipp
    @JeremyNeipp12 күн бұрын

    I haven't been able to update it because I don't have a usb dock unfortunately, so no answer on that from me sadly! But I can attest to the 60-600mm being a good leap forward when I tested that lens.

    Great video. One thing, i started with manual focus because of the same reason, and 30 years of MF and related experience. However, I finally took the time and learned how to use A1, and now I can say that neither you nor I can compete with its AF WHEN SET AND USED CORRECTLY. Working in Hollywood, we’ve found advanced AF like SONY’s is almost on a par with our $250,000+ AF systems. But just like the SONY, you need to learn how to use them properly. You should then be able to get well above 95%, which is above what you and I can ever hope to do manually.

  • @JeremyNeipp

    I definitely don't seem to have problems with overblown highlights on the S5II, if anything I typically shoot slightly too dark on accident with Cinelike D applied in camera. Typically I'm running the S1R with Sigma 500, 150-600, or 135.

    I'm renting the E mount version with a Sony a6700 right now. So far, it's been great. I'm a birder/hiker and weight is a huge consideration for me. I took it with me birding and covered almost 4 miles without the weight being an issue. Will 500mm get me all the bird shots I want? Probably not. But I can see myself bringing this with me on more birding/hiking trips when I would leave a heavier lens at home and miss 100% of the shots. Well done, Sigma.

    By this review if i replace the 150-600 OM lens with the 150-600 sigma version, i would only gain extra stops of light but not much more reach? Seems worth it. Would love to see you re-visit the topic with these two lenses.

    Nice work!! I have some questions about the app: - I know that if I take the premium version I can cancel it any time, but when I canceled the premium version can I still re-activate the premium version? - since I don’t have much money, and I’m saving some money for the sigma 150-600mm contemporary and the Nikon d500, there are some free apps that can be a good substitute for this one? The thing that this app has and got me is the fact that you can select an area and the program shows you the animals that live there. But unfortunately this function isn’t free… Thanks for all of you work! I watch all of your adventures and I hope I’ll be able to visit amazing spots like you did! Thank you! Glad you enjoyed ☺️ tbh I don’t know of a good alternative to this app that has all the features built into one app which is why it’s cool. But eBird is a good resource for just the looking up birds part if you need that only. In regards to your activation question I would assume the answer is yes, but I’m not technical support for them so I can’t guarantee that haha
