7 cents per kWh is really really cheap. We do not get that low rate in California !!! Based on the electricity and gas cost in California, I figure out that after 75000 miles, the saving is about 60% compared to my KIA minivan running the same distance.

Another tip: on the 14-50 NEMA, if you charge at night, trickle charge at 20 amps rather than the allowed 32 amps since youll have 6-8 hours while you sleep.

The savings you are getting by not buy a gas vehicle??!!! How much more are you destroying the planet by your 'green' car??!!! There is no free lunch especially in the energy conversion business so unless you live in an alternate reality where thermodynamics do not follow the same laws we have here on this planet, don't think your arguement is valid! The sad thing is, many like you don't even realize it!!!

You will see your mistakes once you Buy & Use a Tesla and then you will realize like I did and am having : *Specifically when you pay 12K (previous price) to FSD. However, Tesla calls its "driving assistant" feature Autopilot or FSD but says it does not build self-driving vehicles and requires active supervision by the driver!!! 12K/OMG!. FSD software still has a lot of stupidity. *And the car won't have internet if you don't pay more $9.99/month then all features will be disabled indefinitely:((Live Traffic Visualization, Satellite View Map, Live Camera Sentry mode & Internet browser & ...!! )) And it's also a lot of trouble every time you wait in line to charge your batter!

Yup. Don't even bother. Prices for public chargers almost equal the prices for petrol. EV's in general are for the upper middle class and the rich. Like all new cars, to be honest.

Ownership of electric car is parasitic on existing infrastructure. When charging the owner of EV does not pay gas taxes which are used for infrastructure upkeep. The government rebates are being taken from taxpayers and given to billionaires ---> This is socialism for the rich and capitalism for poor. I love this upbeat sell of the EV dream. PS: In New Zeeland EV are starting to be taxed by the distance that they drive.

Here in Australia......we have a lot of renewables in our electricity generation grid. Since that process started......power prices have gone up, up and up and up some more. Our peak tariff is now AUD 70c per kw/hr. Once road tax goes onto EV's (govs are never going to give up all that juicy revenue) then EV owners are royally screwed financially. Not to mention how insurers are now seeing EV's as an extra risk to homes being burned down. I am all for those die hard people who only charge off their own solar panels.........but that is not a viable proposition for most people. Most homes dont have enough roof space pointing the right direction, or enough sunny weather. Most EV owners have been the recipients of absurd subsidies and have NOT been paying any kind of road tax.....that is going to change. If your ownership cost with a Camry came out neutral.....the Camry still wins because it has no waiting around at charging stations on trips, it wont burn your house down or other structures down, it has better range and easier to repair. Tesla's past 5 years are going to be growing problem for repairs, battery issues etc.
