I bet this meadow lights up with fireflies like crazy
Omg , it’s literally a fireworks 💥 show!!! Absolutely stunning! Thank you for watching!!!! 🙏🙏🙏
Hi neighbor! Thank you for this informative video. It’s been a dream of mine to have a meadow on my property in Charlestown Township. I missed out on the Lawn to Meadow program offered by the Chester County Conservation District. Evidently, there was a lot of interest from CC landowners which is a great thing. I am just beginning my research and I think you saved me a lot of work especially when it comes to selecting seeds. Two questions. Do you know of any companies around here that specialize in installing a meadow and how in the world do you keep the deer, rabbits and birds from decimating the meadow before it even has a chance to establish itself. I love the wildlife that I have attracted to my property, but boy are they hungry!
Hi Neighbor!!! So exciting!! You’re probably right around the corner from me. Anyways, yes, there are some companies out there, but there is one in particular that has the highest level of integrity. wildlawn.com They are a USDA level 4 company along with itheir sister Company Archewild. Wildlawn installs, Archewild source and grows seeds. They have basically developed a GPS system where they identify and collect the actual seeds themselves and then grow them in their own nursery. Why is this so important? - because the level of integrity of the seed will allow for your site conditions to thrive. I know them personally, and they are awesome. Good honest people as well. Just let them know that Michael sent you, get nothing out of it. And don’t forget to send some before and after pictures, I’d love to see it. 🙏🙏🙏🌱🌱🌱🌱
Oh the deer yeah, the deer as weak as nature is going to do what it’s going to do. That’s why Wildlawn will select along with your input the proper seeds that will thrive. I still battle the deer every single day. They absolutely love my New England, Astors. But at the end of the day, what is supposed to be there will remain there, Nature won’t discriminate, it will create an organic meadow for you. But in full transparency, there’s nothing like having a beautiful brilliant meadow filled with grasses and wildflowers, and a deer in meadow browsing. Inviting nature for us only put a smile on our face. There’s no greater reward than giving back! And once we gave back, we understood that the reward was not for us, but for all creatures.
@@AumsAcre Thank you so much for referring wildlawn. I will definitely be contacting them. As for the wildlife, I am learning to adopt a live and let live outlook. I’m that way with people so it should be easy to do when it comes to animals. I tell myself that if I keep providing a salad bar I should expect the customers to come. Besides, what is cuter than fawns and baby rabbits? I’m going to share this video with my neighbors who are also very interested in converting part of their lawn to meadow. One is a beekeeper. His bees visit my property and we need to keep them happy. I’ll keep you posted as to my progress. Thanks, again!
Good luck!!! If you have any questions, let me know!!! 🙏

How do you cut back a meadow? I have a garden tractor and was curious if I can do it woth that
Once a year. In Spring. Lots of beneficial bugs overwinter in some hollow stems. I’ve manual cut back with pruners to 4 inches, takes a long long time. But you can set tractor to 4/6 inches that way too. That’s what I did this year. You can you a weed trimmer, powerful one with thick gauge or those steel blades too. The other alternative is to not cut it back. Nature never cuts back it’s Meadows, so that’s probably the best way. It just depends on how tidy you want to keep things. I let mine go pretty long this year until I cut it back. Hope that helps and good luck. Let me know how it turns out. 🙏🙏🙏
Great food forest video! You are living in harmony with nature. Out of one come many, and many back into one.
Thank you for tuning in…. Your support is incredible!
It’s definitely a great idea to increase biodiversity, and inter plant different things that complement each other. Ps. My pawpaws didn’t start fruiting until the 5th or 6th year and you might need to have two or more for better pollination. My tallest one might be 15ft now (and that one only gets half day morning sun). Happy growing! 👏💚
Wow, that’s incredible, yeah I think I’m gonna add more pawpaw in the fall. I missed my window this spring. But I really appreciate you chiming in and watching the video. Thank you so much, and thank you so much for the support. Have a great day.! 🙏🙏🙏☮️
Whats the reality of taking a lawn and turning it into wildflowers?
It’s actually not hard. The reality is it takes patience and researching what thrives in your own mini ecosystem. I would observe your surroundings and check out what grows natively already. That’s a good place to start.
Such a great video and great advice. I've been on a journey for quite a while to kill my lawn and this inspires me
Thanks so awesome!!! Thank you for watching! Good luck! 🍀👍
Nice Work! Who do recommend to provide this type of service in the Twin Cities, MN area, please?
Thank you so much! I’m not sure if Archwild services out there, but they are the best! archewild.com
Btw they have a sister company called Wildlawn - facebook.com/share/p/tU6FL9Cjn2uQY1pH/?mibextid=WC7FNe
Love that cart! Would have been a huge time saver when unlawning my entire front yard last year.
I know, what a PITA. But all is done, now keeping the trail clean is somewhat of a chore. Early spring it needs attention. Mugwort and celandine (sp) love the wood chips. Anyway, thanks so much for watching!!! 🙏🙏🙏
Beautiful folks! Have a great season.
Thank you. One thing that resonated with me that you said in a different video is you had two passions, one was growing stuff, the other photography. I’m in the same exact boat. I have a small channel on myself that I’m trying to get off the ground. I find it hard when you have to film yourself the whole time, anyways, I really like the vibe of your channel
@AumsAcre It is an awkward balance indeed! Especially when your hands are dirty and want to change lenses etc. 😅 Keep at it, though. I've done it on and off over there years, and there's so much now that I wish I had filmed but was too caught up in the project at the time. My greenhouse for example... I'm so proud of it, but all I captured of the building process is 3 lousy photos. Ah well.
You seem to have so many projects going all at once E! Nice job ❤
Yes, for sure!
Awesome Video! Lots of hard work! Inspiring...
thank you so much! Love your beets!
This is beauty beyond words to praise.
Awe thank you so much!!! 😊
Can you tell me the chemicals name?
Yep, for sure, thank you for watching, check out this down below. If you have any other questions, let me know. Thank you. All organic Use this after the blossoms fall off Kelp Maxicrop Neptunes Harvest Fish 2-4-1 or Alaska Fish Fert 5-1-1 Blackstrap Molasses You should feed them right now Early to mid-spring, usually when the daffodils are in full bloom, we top-dress our blueberries with half to 1 pound Re-Vita Pro fertilizer (5-4-3), depending upon the size and age of the plant (3-5 years old get 0.5#, 6 yrs. and older get 1 pound, or roughly 3 cups). This is done by sprinkling the fertilizer over the growing zone of the plant (which for us is a 3’x3′ area).
Hey friend, dirt is expensive, so we fill our raised beds up the same way. Thanks for sharing! 😀

Thanks Walt!!!
Omg what happened! Did it lose power? I would love one of these but would crash it right away!😂 Gorgeous video of the snow!
IDK, battery was fresh, but my best guess is moisture. But I have no clue. I was in a calm state watching the snow through the camera, and the drone started to force land. Visibility was low, it went blank, and I saw a ripple. I’m so sad!!! 😞 expensive mistakes were made!!! But was a great two year run…
The Forest is Great, dark and deep,, and I have many promises to Keep and Miles to go before I sleep, and Miles to go before I sleep

Letting this really brilliant steward of that beautiful PA spot- just thoughtfully recall the process slowly, is a skill as well.

Wow. Excellent video... I know so little about these things but I dare ask how long will it be before that tree grows to the point where it can bear fruit??
Thank you for watching Walter. It will take about 2-4 years to bear fruit. By the 5th year it will be bearing heavily. 🍑
This was fantastic! Great info Thx 🙏

Thank you 🙏 please share and help us grow.
Love the paths, it’s clear that it’s a space meant for both people and other animals! How old is the meadow?
The lower part of the meadow is four years, the upper part is three years. We added the paths in afterwards, as we felt the need to be able to maneuver around a bit. The animals absolutely love the paths. Thanks for watching. Really appreciate it.🙏❤️
WOW! Truly, it IS breathtaking! Thank you for sharing it with us. Loved the colors, the textures, the garden layers..all of it. Great habitat AND beautiful...♥♥♥
