I loved that book but I think Francine Prose’s Reading Like a Writer will do a far better job of making you a better writer. She breaks down great novels into their elements. I hated Bird by Bird btw. Not an aspiring writer but I admire the craft.

@@niallharrington3636 🙄 Collection of fictional short stories loosely based on some potentially real people with a heavy reliance on invented material, much like the "Just So" story collections. Pedant.

Best one I have ever read the kindly ones by Jonathan littel. You learn a lot from the dialogue from the perspective of the SS. Incredible book tbh, well worth it.

“We have only one story. All novels, all poetry, are built on the neverending contest in ourselves of good and evil. And it occurs to me that evil must constantly respawn, while good, while virtue, is immortal. Vice has always a new fresh young face, while virtue is venerable as nothing else in the world is.”

Goggins is the voice I hear in my head during a race or long run when I start to feel tired or feel like slowing down. Great stuff! There is so much Cormac McCarthy also that's on my to be read list, RIP.

What I don't understand about the show, is why didn't they start at the beginning. why are they starting basically at the end. You have to literally read 400 pages before you get to the part where the show starts🤦! And now they're doing a prequel prequel of agon🙄. I wish George RR Martin Would stop fucking around, and finish the original series!🤬
