MTB would have evolved faster if we had copied MX bikes rather than road bikes. There was the technology to make spring forks/shocks with decent damping back in the 90s, BOS made amazing suspension for the Sunn Chipie team. There's still a lot of areas where modern bikes can improve. Durability, servicability, less standards, better handling/geometry for all price ranges. Ebikes will get lighter and have more range and power.

These guys keep discussing the evolution of bikes, or that bike technology is so "new".... but the Tour de France athletes of 1903 were able to traverse 1,980 miles on what was already an almost perfect design.... Anything since then has been very very small tweaks.

Road bikes are a completely different type of engineering. A DH bike vs a road bike are VASTLY different machines obviously.

Call me a purist but motors don’t belong in DH racing. I mean, where do you draw the line? Motors in XC? Road? The bedroom? Call me old fashioned but some things should be left purely to a human’s own natural physiology

2024 and we still getting flats...gotta be a foam out there that would completely eliminate it. Every ride checking air pressure, hoping sealant is still fresh enough gets old. Moto has it already in Mousse

This interview was fun to listen to. Lael's joy is contagious. I only found out that she is riding around the world last night! The story of her winning the Trans-Am was great! Or hearing "the most beautiful music coming from the bicycle." lol I wonder if it's her great attitude that has her remembering things fondly, or the things that give her a great attitude. I wish I had that charisma!

What a great listen! I was at MSA for Finn's win, I think everybody was holding back tears but they were too bloody excited! Our whole crew was rocking Look at the Time shirts so when he got a "Look at the Time!!!" it was perfect. Grew up racing with Stevie and watching that win was a really tear jerking moment for the legacy of Canadian downhill in general! All three of you boys keep it up!!

This guy got a flat tire and came back to win the 2024 Olympics from a Frenchman with an aggressive pass in the final kilometer. Very impressive 😮

Thanks to my BMX career, Rich Long, Gary Turner, the GT/Ultramax/Texas BMX Accessories co factory team I rode for in Texas, I got my first Mountain Bike in about ‘84 or ‘85. It was the GT Backwoods Model (Fully Rigid) I’m not 100% but I believe it was the show bike at interbike (before it was named that) that year. It had a lot of great parts for the time. I think it was the top of the line that GT mtn bike offered in those years. That started my love for mtn bikes. It continues to this day. 53yrs old. Still riding as much as I can and running my KZread channel riding bikes!

Just came across your show with Matt... and now Rachel. Rare to come across such natural , insightful and fun interviewers. It's one thing to ask a few forced, expected questions... and altogether another thing to bring out the best in an athlete, while revealing otherwise unknown diminsions of their life, personality, motivations and preparation that people haven't encountered elswhere. I’ve watched the ridge line crash twice and probably won’t watch it again, it’s genuinely horrible seeing his body roll down that rock face like he’s made of jelly, he’s very lucky to be alive. A true legend of the sport, a model professional and one of the most committed balls to the wall racers ever
