@Progressive E, Trying my luck here bro… got a 72v ko nano stock motor… randomly started getting throttle loss when landing a dirt jump… its causing me to case the following jump and have gnarly wipeouts 😂 all tilt/break sensors turned off ect… do you have a clue?

If your running stock motor it sounds like the motor is over heating. Stock motors over heat very easily and when they do the controller is programmed to lower the power. Gotta get a better motor mate if you want to send it. 🤘😝 hope that helps

@@CmdrTigerKing serious question, how come my forks won’t come apart when I tried to follow that video? I got to the point where the seals and retainer clip are removed but my forks won’t come apart into the two sections. It made me think that I might have to separate the forks from the opposite direction, as shown in this guys video. I have not yet removed the axle clamp from the bottom to try it that way. Due to failed attempts and being alone. Do you know what the answer is? If the forks are identical how come mine won’t come apart like the video you linked ? Any help is appreciated

Interesting the Sur Ron motor is leaving performance on the table. (1) the retention of the magnets using a screw is somewhat cheap. Not sure if I have seen that with other frameless motor designs. This is replacing magnetic material, hence you are losing performance. (2) The electrical steel that holds the magnet to the rotor is also poor design. Fundamentally, you want all the magnetic flux passing from the magnet to the stator. However putting electrical steel between the north and south poles of the magnet 'short circuits' the fields and reduces the field crossing into the stator. The issue with just swapping motors is that the tuning of the controller gains will be completely different. Not sure if people are given access to these controls.

I've "bee,n" using a Surron L1E around town for three years now, Your take on the electric bikes is spot on. The maintenance (or lack thereof) is a massive bonus to the electric movement. After the initial cost I've had very little to fork out other than yearly rego ($216) and replacing the tires. I have had hundreds of people asking about the Surron, basically every time I take it out, and I tell them it was the best investment I ever made. I will only sell it after the Ultra arrives!

The qs 165 60h just came out. You can get it immediately if you want. It's about 900$. The xub 80 is a fantastic motor but going to require alot of work since you have to design a jackshaft. Although your pretty handy you might be able to do it.

  • @progressive_e

I will take a look, QS's probable is there not very high rpm. Yeah ubx 80 will be some work I have some ideas to hopefully make it easier. I'm thinking of using ultra bee jackshaft we will see how we go 🤘 but will have a look at 165 60h.

I sold my electric conversion parts and went gas for my crf450x build. Electric is clearly better for what I need except milage. The closet town with a charging port is 15 miles. I'm quite rural here so the closet any town with gas station is. In my home village lol, 5 miles away and then 9. A gallon of gas is about 40 miles of range (I have a 3.2gallon tank) Thats the range on a full battery that will fit in the frame. I have a razor mx350 I modified with some lifepo4 batteries for my kids. It does 22mph and I'm not for sure on the range. My butt goes numb before I get even half. That in my CRF450 with 100 mile range and at least highway speeds would of worked for me. Hopefully in a few years, the battery tech will be better and I WILL switch!

That was Toria with the KO F spec and the KO Rush controller with the 72 V 56ah EDMX battery. I’ve hit 101 miles an hour. I can hold 80 miles an hour for a while, none of my sur Ron buddies can keep up but I keep hearing that Ko is not really reliable. Probably going to go to the EBMX 9000 controller. They’re running 72 V 43 ah batteries With the Thorpe 1000 controller and motor. Think he’s only getting up about 60 miles an hour maybe just a little over
