Many thanks for this which brought back memories, From the 50s to the 90s I lived in that part of London and often used the now abandoned tunnels to exhibitions at Earl's Court. And your early comment on steam trains was not far wrong. In the 50s and early 60s I recall I would quite often see a steam (usually a Midland Region tank) freight train with goods/coal/empty wagons on late evenings passiing through en route to/from a store sidings (?Pontings) accessed via a shunt from Platform 4 at High St Kensington. The sidings and yard are now long demolished and on part of their site is now a hotel.
Fun fact. There was a fire at GSS in 1982. I was there and it was scary AH. The smoke was so thick it was so hard to breathe whilst having to climb those bloody stairs. So it could be the mismatched and drab 80s tiling on the stairs and throughout the station were replaced due to smoke damage? Just a theory. It still gives chills when I pass through
Lovely to see bits of Liverpool Street I've never seen, do love spotting the few details at the station I see replicated at other stations on the "Eastern" line (London to Norwich). One of these days I'll photograph them all!
Absolutely, amazing, awesome, oh my god, all over used.
congratulations Siddy Holloway. so Beautiful and the Queen of what you do Best. I Love this show and Secrets of The London underground. you , Tim and Chris are absolute Legends. but Siddy you remain the Queen. Congratulations on your pregnancy once again.
What a beautiful colourful animated roundel, a fantastic job ,well done to everyone 🌈☯️❤️
The new sign is a beauty! I love the vibrant ever changing swirl of colours, and a glimpse in to the design and manufacturing process. Did you visit the steam railway while you were over there? Sorry I missed the live, I was up to my ears in gardening and diy!

Do Hidden London still do tours of Highgate Station? I would love to go back there, I used to attend the nursery there as a child in the late 70s, Phyllis was my childminder & we remained great friends with she, Edward & their family for many years until their sad passing. I remember playing on the platform & in the tunnels as a young child, Edward had a model railway that ran the length of the hallway in the station cottage & their daughter Lizzie had painted Mr Men on the walls along the front hallway too. I remember baking in the kitchen & loved being allowed in the pantry as a little girl. It would be great to revisit if the tours are still available? Many Thanks, Charlotte. (I would also love to get a copy of the beautiful photo of the cottage if it is available 🙏)
It is cool to know the museum is changing. It will give me an excuse to come visit next time I'm back in the UK. I enjoyed my visit in June.
Brilliant!
Ooh, a new Roundel....I can't wait for a fully-functioning lapel badge that also changes colour.....hint, hint!! 😉
Museum in white gets lost in the backround 😮
That was another good one. Sorry I'm a bit late watching this one but always love
Have you done one for Chancery Station?
Have you done one for Chancery Station?
Is this the same station as the Chancery Station? Have you done one for Chancery Station?
Who's that Asian Lady?
Who is the lady in black top talking I never heard of her
Very nice. I think I would have liked it if the colours changed slightly more slowly, so I could have the time to figure each colour out.
Awesome show. Very interesting and enjoyable. Sau-Fun was so good too. Clearly very enthusiastic about her “baby” and very articulate on camera too.
Started watching this on Sunday morning but then saw how gorgeous it is especially with your shades on so I am going to save it for this afternoon after a Sunday roast in Shoreditch. Can’t wait
Yay!
drop the zoom meeting at start of the videos....to COVID/2020...
It’s a proper 50-50 split. Many fans apparently love it. Can’t please em all, I guess
21st century, with the history still involved, good future with remembering were you come from.
That was exceptionally enjoyable for me for a number of reasons. First of all I love the dynamic between the four of you. You are clearly genuine friends with an abiding affection and respect for each other. It was that coupled with your obvious knowledge and enthusiasm of all things Underground that kept me going through lockdown. Stuck, as I was, either on a ship for work or an isolation. This time out was nostalgic for me as you are all in your individual houses. I really like the new sign. I think it works on many levels to achieve it's stated aims and the colours are incredible. It was very interesting to me to see the tig welding. I do tig welding as part of my job. In fact today I was constructing a pipework system for an argon gas feed to a Tig welder on the ship I'm working on. Thanks again for cheering me up, keeping me going and educating me. More power to the four of you.
❤
A couple of years ago I took some photographs of Newbury Park bus station; these photographs were shot on black and white film. One of the pictures includes the roundel outside the station. There is obviously no colour in these pictures, but when I look at the roundel I can often see a very slight trace of red and blue. I can only think that my brain is trying to fill in the colours which it expects to be there.
I've got the printed version of the museum roundel sitting here, on the Patron's Circle handout given out in mid-June. Lovely to hear Sau-Fun explain the thinking with such enthusiasm. The animated version is an interesting departure! The concept of ''Museum' on the roundel is great, athough in printed form a single colour may be more effective, such as the suggested gold.
Hello all the way from Ulverstone Tasmania Australia. Am really liking the new museum roundel. 👍
And Hi from Hobart Tasmania!
Great episode, love the new roundell and more importantly how proud you all are of it, you guys are so dedicated. Next time I visit the UK I want to visit the museum, see you have fans from abroad, miss the tube very much, have a great Sunday all of you and thanks again
Fun drinking game - take a swig every time they say 'roundel' (plural included). Think you will get quite drunk 😂
Don’t watch it on a hungover Sunday morning where you might pop a paracetamol each time we say it
You’d end up passing out faster than a Circle Line pub crawl
I like it, the animation catches your eye, then you see the word museum, perfect.
Fantastic! Thanks so much for that video!
Ooooooooooooohhhhh ! a New Sign 🙂 Looks Very Nice
I like the museum roundel except the word Museum gets lost in the background
Think the new sign looks rather splendid - a certain living quality to something animated and lovely vibrant colours. Getting a glimpse of the behind-the-scenes manufacturing - also cool 😊
Too old now team, logo needs revising to reflect modern times, all trains, buses, tube stations and it’s contractors should now sport the ‘TfL’ title, it’s not too late to change, think that the temple bar and griffin has now had its day.
It does tho. It contains every colour of every mode of transport in London.
@@alexgrundon2346Needs a new approach with a reality check for 10 years of TfL with simply the letters ‘TfL’ on the sides of buses, tube, overground trains + stations and stationery, as the logo is now outdated. If they wanted, I could rebrand their corporate image to bring it into 2024.
Very clever, I love it
Sorry guys, but the new sign doesn't do anything for me. Being a child of the 60's I grew up with the traditional-coloured London Transport logo.
ITS ALL THE COLOURS OF THE LONDON UNDERGROUND blended in I’m also a child of the 60’s and I ain’t moaning like YOU !!! It’s brilliant ITS NOT REPLACING ALL just outside the museum 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄 I bet you thought it was a PRIDE ONE EH WOW
I agree, looked like something representative of Gay Pride.
There were always different coloured roundels. Don't forget it is not just the London Underground Museum and it's not just the London Busses Museum. Having said that, I would have also liked a solid gold roundel.
Methinks the channel profile picture needs updating!
Missed it tonight as it did not give a notification
Siddy and mr. Siddy, may I offer heartfelt congratulations. til hamingju
A slight criticism guys the theater stuff should of been done at the end
When did they seal the central Line ticket hall
Love the new sign, I had to go and get the new Tote bag and key ring yesterday from the shop 😃
Yipeeee😊
Hurrah - a new edition!! 🙂
MIND THE GAP 🚇
I worked on the comms design for Westfield...I was under the impression that the depot is still there in the basement of the shopping centre.....
I'm sure the Parry People Mover at Stourbridge is based on this bus.
