Now to throw away the runner boards (cheapskate lift kit)
Do you have any videos on how to install trail gear diff drop?
Here's one for a Total Chaos Diff drop on a Sequoia. It's basically the same on a 4Runner: kzread.info/dash/bejne/iWGDyLuHkavVhbg.html

Whats the torque specs for the uca?
Another solid video, Just straight to the point with everything! We released a portable jump starter. Can we invite you to do a review? We have emailed for an inquiry.
Thanks for sharing ! I going to look into same system for my 92’ tundra
What was the new bolts measurement?
Seems to me that marking the cam sleeve locations would be a piece of cake by simply using a tool steel center punch (the drill bit type) with a good point on it and drive it in the two "slots" that you used the magic marker on. Regardless of whether you're using new LCA's or your old ones, the dimples from the center punch would be in the same place on the frame. That also applies if you were using either the old cam sleeves or brand new ones since the slots would be in the same place, old or new. Not everyone has a set of the letter punch bits, but the locations could be stamped on them as well and also on new ones so the markings wouldn't need to be done for the next mechanic that tackles this job. Anti Seize is HIGHLY UNDERRATED for this procedure!!! I am about to try and crack my bolts loose after I get the steering unit loose. My Tundra came from Middle Missouri, but it's spent 4 winters of partial winter driving in NE Iowa, so we will see how hard they come out. I ordered new hardware simply to save time. The Upper bolts came out with little to no problem and had maybe 5% of the shaft with any rust on it. It's out of the heavy "salt spray path" unlike the lowers, but your advise on Diablo blades is another positive for your video. Overall, I learned a lot and thanks for taking the time to do this. I like "under the vehicle videos" done at home where the repair person isn't using hydraulic lifts and tons of pneumatic air tools to do the repair INSIDE a shop where the wind sun, grass, concrete rash, and gravel aren't part of the repair. Being over 70 years old, I could only wish I could stand up for the complete job....lol. Thanks again....and yes, I subscribed.
Hey there, yes, that's the schtick of this channel, what you can do in your driveway with pretty basic tools. Thanks for the comment and thanks for subscribing. See you on the road! Via con Dios, amigo!
Thanks! Not doing a lift but couldnt find a video about rear springs. My tree looks like its hauling weight when its empty!
The upper 10 mm on the small braket with the teeth is spinning both the nut and bolt. There's no room to hold the bolt. Am I missing somthing?
hmmm, give me a minute marker on the video. maybe ill have some insight.
@1stgenoffroad I figured it out. You have to hold that adapter piece with the teeth in a certain way that it holds the bolt.
@1stgenoffroad now I'm wondering if it's me or am I Tripping? Does the 5100 shock bushing inside the shock bigger diameter than the factory bolt at the top?
@@secondgone5066 Don't think so. It's a tight squeeze but, for me, everything went in and has been in since I made this video last year.
@1stgenoffroad for some reason, the inner diameter of the 5100 shocks bushing is larger than the factory upper bolt... I have a 2015 toyota sequoia platinum.
Thanks for the walkthrough, Josh! Finished the job last night. Used all OEM. Was able to bang out a few of the sleeves w/ a socket. Had to cut one. The 12” Diablo was key. Cut it down and knocked it out quick. Btw, no need to remove the steering boots. With the rack loose, it’s not hard to get the bolts out/in. PS - Had to play some Floyd during install. 🤘
Strong work. Pink Floyd makes everything better!
Does it matter if you put spring by on passenger side?
The taller spring goes on the driver's side.
Nice video bro ,yup need more aftermarket stuff like bilstien control arms, keep videos coming
I just feel like I would never get this all back together 😮💨
Do you ship to Alaska? Asking for a friend 😂
Yeah. Shoot me an email with your exact shipping address and what you’re looking for and I can give you an exact shipping quote. [email protected]
100% agree on finding aftermarket parts for the first gen Tundras. I bought mine brand new in 2004. This past year I have been building it. New front and rear bumpers from Brute Force Mfg in Clovis, CA. A 10K lb Smittybuilt winch. The bumpers are the only first gen aftermarket specific bumpers that I have found for a 1st gen Tundra. Bolt on to the existing brackets. A lot of people buying bumpers and trying to build their own mounting brackets.
Yeah, Billy makes a great bumper! I have BFF front and rear bumpers on my 1st gen Sequoia. This Tundra has an Addicted Off Road front bumper and that same 10K Smittybilt winch. BFF front bumper is 100 bolt on, which is nice. The Addicted Off Road bumper has a cross member that you weld to the frame and the rest of the bumper bolts onto that.
Question on your rocker guards/rock sliders. Where did you get/do yours? I have an 04 extended cab. Something that I need. Already a few good rocker panel dings. 3 1/2" lift. Bilstein 6112's on the front with Camburg Upper control arms. All new lower OEM control arms, bushings, ball joints. GFC camper. Bilstein 5160's on the back with an add a leaf. I just got back from a four day trip up to Plumas National Forest north of lake Tahoe. Driving over a lot of rocks. 33"s on 16" Method wheels.
These are N-Fab steps. I wouldn't trust them as rock sliders. I would like to get rock sliders from Billy someday. Are you listening Billy? But the N-Fab steps are nice together in the truck. These are them: amzn.to/3xxyTX6
The truck sounds fun and it's obviously taking you to some cool places. Down there in Texas, this is my beach camping, hunting, don't get stuck rig. 34" BFM KM3s on 17" wheels. Addicted Off Road front bumper. Smittybilt 10K winch. Baja LP9 Racers in amber. Dual batter setup under the hood. Tool box with solar panels, charge controller, inverter and a 3rd battery in the tool box. Rear LSD. No creature comforts, but it has never let me down.
I really wish Sherpa would make a roof rack for the double cab. Spider makes one in the same style but it looks just a bit too small for the truck.
100% agree.
Wouldn’t a ladder rack be a better choice?
Not for my application. I want to put a rooftop tent up there and I don't want it sitting high above the cab, acting like a sail in the wind and reducing fuel economy.
@@1stgenoffroad My GFC only has a couple of inch air footprint. Driving a V8. You just have to sit back and be happy that you have a Toyota with a seriously solid V8. About the smallest truck available that you can find with a factory V8.
@@scottymac5174 Agree. The same size truck as the new V6 Tacoma. Wish they still made these 4.7 V8s.
Your video helped me rebuild my 06 Tundra front end two years ago. Just wanted to say thank you.
Nice, brother! 👊
Beautiful Goldie.
She was a good one.
Your Install Video helps thanks, got the same bumper.
Got the same product, I have tan interior and had the panels powder coated in a coyote color. Love the storage and usability for sure.
Nice! #extramile
What's the real-world feedback on running the TRQ control arm? Regular daily driving or any off-roading?
Incomplete video indeed
What are you still confused about?
Df driver front Dr driver rear , Pf passenger front Pr passenger rear. 🤔
What lift ?
Right on Josh! I got the front and rear bumper and the rock sliders. When to his shop and he installed the rear bumper and rock sliders. Took him less then 4 hours. It was your channel that let me know about him.
How long did that project take you, so I can plan mine for the next long weekend? Excellent instructions, watching you video, made me lose the fear of ding it by myself, so I can save $300 on a helper for the day of work.
Thanks! If you don't film it, you can do it in one day.
The link doesn’t work for the kit anyone have a link
For the Tundra 6112? Here you go: www.1stgenoffroad.com/store/p1020/TundraSequoiaBilstein6112CoilSprings/ShocksLiftKit.html
If you want them to fit a 4Runner, let us know. We'll have to get you a 600 pound spring and a 4runner strut mount.
do not fit my 2005 sr5!!
Why did you quit carrying Brute Force bumpers for the Tundra on your site?????
long story. you can find one at bruteforcefab.com
Already did, bought front and rear, plus sliders for my 05 Tundra DC, some of the best quality in industry, everything went on perfectly, nothing fought me and reasonably priced compared to a lot of “gougers” in the Toyota community!
@@phxamigo 100%
Mine only came with one bushing, one cupped washer and one flat washer. No nut or zip tie!
So with 5100s no electrical connections no codes? Also did the female connector get a cover? Keeps debris put and potential electrical gremlins from eletrical tracking. I'm ocd sorry....😊. Oh would the 4600 series also work as well with a firm yet milder rebound?
No codes at all. Airbags still function with auto level and high/neutral/low. You don't even have to disconnect the cables. If you want to keep it covered, just cut the wire distal to the plug and let the male part of the plug be the cover.
What lift kit do I need if I have rear air shocks that are faulty on my 05 Sequioa 2wd
thank you for this video! just sent away for new hubs for my tacoma, sport!🙂
Will this fit in the Sequoia as well?
Sure will. Right here: www.1stgenoffroad.com/store/p589/DobinsonsBilsteinFrontSequoia.html
Awesome, thank you for the link! Do you guys work with Affirm or anything like that? Just curious
@@JCod306 We currently don't offer Affirm.
Ok, appreciate your communication man. I’ll have to save up then 👍🏼
Just bought a kit from your site (DOBINSONS / BILSTEIN 5100 2-2.5" FRONT LIFT KIT 2000-2006 TUNDRA). Do you recommend replacing the upper control arms on the first gen tundra? I plan on doing first notch - this is just a leveling mod for me.
Oh, and love the video and details! Subscribed
Hey Richard, thanks for the sub. I recommend aftermarket UCAs if you go over 2" of lift. 2" or less and your factory UCAs are fine.
Great Video, and great editing. Love the song choice
Appreciate the kind words!
In your opinion, hold changing my stock shocks on my 16 limited sequoia help with towing sag? I pull a camper that is under the max weight capacity of my sequoia by 1500-2000 Lbs. However, when towing the sequoia is squatting almost on the chassis. The vehicle is not equipped with airbags and installing it would be too much money. How can I reduce my squatting?
Consider a weight distribution hitch and maybe some helper airbags to go in the springs.
Hi, friend! I'm from Russia, thank you very much for the video. Everything is very clear. I've been looking for a long time how to do this! Good luck to you in your new projects!
Thank you, sir! #hactorwarcembr
Good job Thank you ❤
Did you have lean on the driver side ? If so I guess add spacers on the driver front and driver rear ?
We didn't have a lean. Even on both sides. If you do end up with a lean, it would need a 1/4" spacer on the front driver's side. In the rear, you can either adjust the ride height of the airbags on the leaning side to ride slightly higher (if you have the platinum airbags) or add a small spring spacer (if you have rear springs).
Thank you for documenting this. I’m currently installing the same setup on my fj cruiser. Blue dobbinsins 730lb springs, SPC UCAs and bilstein 5100s. I’m replacing everything. It was nice to see it all assembled.👊🏾
Nice! Let know if you need anything else for that FJ. Be happy to help!
excellent video
I was thinking maybe I should replace the whole control arm instead of just the bushings (just watched a replacing bushings vid), but it seems like this is even more work. What do you recommend? I got a 2016 veloster n turbo
How do you like them so far? I’m highly considering theze
These have been great. Not too soft on the road but do great on washboards.
Do you think if using the 15mm spacers for the front and back will fix the gap issue? Part# QMHD15
The gap is like 1mm. I've left it alone and it's done absolutely perfect. I wouldn't change a thing.
Which LCA I should buy for my sequoia pls
Hubcaps for an 06 will not fit back
Then something's wrong. They're all the same.
Have you fitted a winch yet to this bumper? What are you running? I’m wondering if the badland apex 12000 will fit under it if I relocate the solenoid
I put a 12K super winch on. Had to relocate the solenoid next to the air box.
