Nothing here can eclipse the callousness of the brutal British regime. This crime syndicate m oved from cold Britain to an orgy of bloodshed. Seeing the blacks forced to bow and dead bodies treated as British crime cartel badges of honor is just but---- despicable---.They will live in infamy for their thirst of other peoples blood.Off our land off your British troops! Your hands are full of blood so just get lost u r completely unwelcome! #machete

If only Oginga was BOLD during Kenyatta's detention. Luos in the 60s seemed very humble and polite as opposed to Kikuyus. What happened to Muigai Kenyatta? Seems like the first wife's family was disinherited.

I was eight years old when Jomo came home from detention. Vehicle registration plates KHA.....coincided with his release, I listened to those freedom songs first hand as they were sung by traditional Kikuyu men and women with spliced ears adorned with " nyori". Two years later,as a class three pupil, we were bussed to Langata Uhuru stadium in a KBS double decker bus to witness the raising of the new Kenya independence flag. And here I am now, seventy one years " young" and reliving it all over again. How lucky I am!!

@@simplejames9500 Indeed I saw it all. I still remember that night, my dad ( God bless his soul) and uncle were celebrating, they had bottles of Tusker beer that they couldn't have been allowed to consume under colonial rules, and they smoked " Clipper" brand cigarettes, the most expensive at the time ( google it). We kids were content with bubbly Coca-Cola and House of Manji biscuits.

David Koff researched and produced this series with his Tanzanian journalist-wife whose name I have forgotten. She is also the excellent narrator of the series (which can be found on KZread). It is a master piece of genuine journalism: presenting facts. Hence, the series much be watched in it's entirety. Kenyatta was a double-edged sword.for Kenya. Leading the country into a new era of independence and into his own personal wealth. - Which is quite well documented and so laying the foundation of Kenyans present day problems with corruption and impunity.

Kenyatta sold us out right back to the British and set Kenya up for exploitation by entitled boys who have done nothing to make Kenyans self sufficient, we rely on the white man for education, technology, money, visas to his countries. Most Afrikans would rather live abroad with the white man than be under the poverty of their selfish leaders.

The guys in the interviews sound so eloquent and relaxed I've found myself rewinding to listen to them again... I used to learn about Eliud Mathu, Joseph Murumbi, Oginga Odinga, Tom Mboya, and all those other great men in Kenyan History in primary school. Now I've seen what they all looked like and heard how they talked. Great job preserving this information.

Kenyatta played a crucial role in the struggle for independence . Young Kenyans are quick to dismiss him as an opportunist but it's clearly out of ignorance. I have at last seen historical figures like Joseph Kangethe and Harry Thuku that i had only read about. A very important documentary for Kenyans.

We must capitalize on our main resource, the people. We must aim to empower our people academically! Watching this video today just tells us that the main difference was between those who went to school and those who did not. I still don't understand why we haven't made it easy as well as compulsory for everyone to acquire relevant and practical knowledge. A country with majority able-bodied youths should speak of famine at all!
