Rip mate. Rode up here yesterday, too slippery for me to entertain a down to the road direction. Still watching these vids in 2024!

It doesn't look like that in 2023. More like an impassible overgrown singletrack for the entire length, and no sign that even a walker has tried to get along it.

Just discovered this video. Buckholt Lane is in Rother - so nothing to do with Hastings Council. Byeways in East Sussex [including Hastings which is no longer a County Borough] are the responsibility of East Sussex County Council.[You did correct this later in the video]. The Byeway has now been severed by the A2691 [Haven Brook Avenue] which links the Bexhill to Hastings link road with the A269. A Science Park is planned to the south side of this road over that part of Buckholt lane The main access to Buckholt Farms is a long straight road from Watermill lane - known locally as 'The Long Mile' Anyway thanks for the video.

It takes a while to dry up after a downpour but it soon turns to dust again due to the surface being almost pure leaf mulch.

Those 4x4s at the end drove across the road and down a footpath ER82. It has concrete blocks across it now, but some idiots have still tried to drive around them.

Pretty much the same in 2023 but recent repair to the lower part with piles of road planings in random places. A lovely ride in both directions on a bike in dry conditions in May.

In 2019 there was a notice for a temporary closure to the byway KH64, in order to work on overhead lines. This was to be in force for 6 months maximum, although the work was expected to be carried out in 2 weeks. The byway is marked on the 2023 KCC map as closed.

They went way off course and came out somewhere else completely, still a byway that joins Dunns Farm, but the original trail runs for a bit further all the way to Pett Street and upper Hassell street. They should have turned right where they first got confused and went straight ahead the next time. Easy to say that looking at the map in front of me.

@thra5herxb12s Жыл бұрын
Closing the road to 4 wheeled vehicles means the council can put a gate across the access. All that rubbish would never fit in a car and any van gets charged for trade waste. The guy who's name is on the paperwork is still liable for not disposing of his rubbish correctly, so he would be better to say who he payed to dump it for him.

Even though this is a old video, I'd just like to point out that the BOAT is in East Sussex, parts of Colwell Lane (either end of the lane) are in West Sussex and are fully adopted public highways. The older looking sign, is a pre-Worboys sign from before 1964, back then it would of been the legal order (if a sign ahead prohibited motor vehicles), and technically still stands to this day (with most signs, if it was legal when it was erected, it remain legal, even if a new sign is prescribed to replace it) Although it is odd that it remained a BOAT (rather than a restricted byway) when RUPPs were reclassified.
