It's really not all that interesting, or original. I think all his stuff looks like that. It seems to be executed well enough, but doesn't have anything to pull me in.

& yet you felt engaged enough post a disparaging comment? Why was that I wonder?

@janesmith8831 I watched through to the end, to see if anything changed, or it went in a different direction. When I watch any artist, I will watch the whole video. Art is about how it makes you feel, so I wrote how it made me feel. I was not trying to sound insulting, I apologize if I did. But if I were looking at it in a gallery, I'd feel the same way.

@@theeaselrider4032 Oh please don’t apologise to me, I am not offended per se, but curious & rather sad as I ve seen the effects of these casual critiques on friends. Your response is subjective, highly individual to YOU, Art is. That’s why it’s SO SO hard for many artists to put their art into the public domain but particularly social media & I know many that have withdrawn from it completely Let’s say you were in a gallery with the artist, having the same response….would you walk up & say that to him? Or would you simply …leave.

Watching this makes me wonder why painters don't fill in the gap before doing one painting on two canvasses? I'm suggesting using some rubbery gap filler, but one canvas having some grease, or something, applied where the filler comes in contact with it. That way the filler sticks to just one canvass when it sets, allowing the two to still be separated whenever the painting is moved. Doing this would mean that one painting having been done over two canvasses would be hardly noticeable, if at all.

I don't think I've ever seen anyone use negative space so effectively! Do you paint from reference or do the leaves and details just blossom of their own accord?

This is SO COOL, and as a representational landscape painter who paints small and loves me some abstracted nature, this painting is not only glorious in its complete departure from what I can do, but it looks like a complete BLAST to paint. I honestly envy painters (in a good way) that can pull off successful abstracts; despite what the lay public thinks, it is MUCH harder to do than a tightly rendered painting.
