I use a wet cloth with a sprinkle of white vinegar. Works very easily. I actually do this while the glass is still a little warm. I clean the glass every morning before I restoke the fireplace. I have this same fireplace but the newer version with the tertiary air intake. Fantastic stove

This method is contrary to most other methods I have seen where they recommend you place your kindling material on the top and allow the ventilation, which comes from the top, to feed the initial ignition area. These methods also recommend the door be left ajar for the first 10 minutes to aid ventilation.

Any tips for dealing with the spiders and bugs that come with the firewood? I am using robosol in my garage where i keep the wood, but it won't kill spiders.

My unit's manual says i must leave the door open for at least 5 to 10 minutes (up to 45 minutes) to let everything get up to temperature.

I usually buy something called Kaggelout. Is that as good as gum?

That's a mixture of wood pieces normally, different types.
