    Great tutorial, I broke the plastic nipple on the boost control solenoid, glued it back on, but now it seems like I'm not hitting full boost, would an air leak on that nipple cause the car to not hit full boost?

  • @FiveFiveGarage
    @FiveFiveGarage10 ай бұрын

    Yep. I have had multiple people do the same thing and the end result is always replacing it. You can always upgrade to a MAC valve and get even better boost control. That is what I did.

    Are those too long to be lowered below 1.5"? I have some godspeed ones on and they were too long, even though Im using godamn godspeed coilovers.. It eventually snapped. I just need some shorter ones!

    They are a bit long if you are going slammed. You could order an outer rod from McMaster (make sure you get the right diameter and thread pitch) and cut a custom one to size.

    Yep. You can keep the vtcs solenoid on the car and that might keep the code from popping up. Pretty much anything you do modding wise to this car makes a CEL ... 😆

    Very well made! Tip for MPS 6 / MPS 3(?) users: If you don't put a small bucket underneath the ERG that you can REMOVE also (I had a magnetic one, dumb choice), or if you don't empty some coolant from underneath the car, you will spill coolant.. AND it CAN get into your turbo. I got lucky a/f. Learning the hard way hahaha

  • @jakubkrcma

    Right at the beginning of watching the video: there is NO debate about TMIC vs FMIC. FMIC is MASSIVELY superior, of course. The temperature of compressed air entering the engine is incomparably lower with the same size of a FMIC, compared to a TMIC. Anyway, thanks to you, I will go for 2" tubing for my FMIC. I definitely don't want a radical increase in turbo lag as it would brutally interfere with the increase in power (in terms of lap time and usability).🙂👍

    Lighter wheels are always cool. Not only do they help with acceleration, braking, and cornering a little (depending on how much lighter you go, of course) but they also make rough surface driving better as the shocks don't have to work as hard.

    Currently dealing with an exhaust leak . Took car to muffler shop and they said that I had two flex pipes cracked . One from dowpipe and other right below it . I can smell it from the inside of my car and my downstream o2 sensor isn’t receiving enough voltage . Shop is charging 350 to remove dowpipe and then 200-300 to fix the two flex pipes . Now … should I simply invest in a new dowpipe and attempt to remove it myself with not alot of experience, or should I let the shop handle it . Need to fix the leaks for an upcoming tune 😵‍💫

  • @FiveFiveGarage
    @FiveFiveGarage Жыл бұрын

    A new downpipe (depends on what you get) could be more expensive than the repair. If you got the time and space I would get a new downpipe and not have to worry if the repairs are going to last.

    One trick I found when installing and seating the pcv gasket on the valve… if the valve is stubborn and doesn’t want to click in, take the gasket and place it in the plate where it needs to go. Then push the valve into the hole and it will click through much easier. 👍🏽

    7:40 you can 100% remove the intake manifold without removing the egr tube. just take the 2 bolts out by the top end of it, and it snakes right out, then you can spin the whole thing off by hand.
