Wow, what a blast from the past. Ha heard that name in forever.
I was a student at UM from '92--'96. For $75 we got a full sheet of home game tickets. What are students charged on their account now?
It's HOW they did it. No loading up on 5 star recruits, no flashbang offense. You can still win playing real football.
Went to my first Michigan game back in 1995 and all tickets were $25. My friend said tickets wouldn't go up because it's for the students. Oh how the times have sadly changed
Times have surely changed, and I agree.... sadly
The NCAA was comfy being a selectively-biased keystone cop organization. Nothing about the NCAA was forward thinking - they were reactive. Glad to see them pushed into complete irrelevance.
DII
Florida state is doing this right now with their stadium renovation. Making it a pro style experience. The average fan is no longer the client. Rich donors are. I'm gonna have to give up my tickets to michigan next year if prices go up again. And I have endzone seats. Sad day.
Sad indeed...but I get it
Absolutely right! I couldn't handle the price AND I couldn't handle the obnoxiously loud piped in music. Took away the college experience. I'd like to hear the band! If I wanted a professional sports experience, I'd go to a professional game!!
The Band...the most overlooked and underappreciated game day experience
Looking at what Sherrone has put together, even with the one hiccup, I think Michigan will be just fine.
This is great! Forever Blue 💙
Jim, I think you’re giving too much credit cfp. Let’s just call it. ESPN is calling ALL the shots. The are running roughshod over the college sports scene. Or atleast the ones they want, the ones that make them the most money.
💔 Promo sm
College Football is a totally different animal than when I was a kid in the 90s. I don't know if it is for the better. Great analysis, Mr Brandstatter.
No wonder Nick Sabin bailed out of this mess. Bo, Woody, and Bear wouldn’t have faired any better. Maybe if they’d a started paying players back in the 70s when it was first proposed they could have avoided this disaster.
Saban bailed because he was losing his recruiting monopoly, period. NIL destroyed his little fiefdom.
Let's Go Lions baby!!!! All GRIT
Totally agree with you Mr. Brandstatter! Love the analysis! Thank you
Couldn't agree more.
Jim - good points and I agree that NFL players are not intimidated by a physically imposing coach! Glad Lions kept the staff in tact and have continuity. It bodes well for this year! Go Blue! and Go Honolulu Blue!! Thank You!
Keeping Glenn and Johnson is huge
Brandy!
BS, Iconic M is suppose to be an END JOB! Harbs is ist coach in Ms 144 yrs who LEFT at top of his career! Norm Parker? Bud Foster? Stayed at D coord fr life! Assist have low success rate as nepotism hire after icon leaves! Signed Moe and Ted Tollner!!
Jim saying facts 🗣🗣🗣
I just was hoping Jim Harbaugh loved Michigan enough to stay. The Chargers are a mediocre NFL franchise, at best.
Refreshing to hear
Well said Jim
Yup, Mr Brandstatter. I could not agree more. Of course, it is disappointing to lose the great coaches but they need to do, what they need to do. Looking forward to Coach Moore's staff. It is going to be an interesting year with a brutally tough schedule. I'll be cheering with you this year and GO BLUE!
Jim - I agree with you 100%! Michigan has had some great coaches over the history of the program and every one of them has been replaced at some point. Jim is still a Wolverine and I wish him and the coaches that went to SD all the best! Sherrone is going to do a great job and I'm excited as a fan about the future! Thank you for your positive commentary and message!
Thanks, for the positive message!
Great positive message Jim! I've tried to not buy in to all of the negativity on social media. Go Blue!!
Thanks...the sky is NOT falling!
Thank you Jim. Calm the fan base down. I'm very optimistic. I only see positive things ahead. I can't wait to see D.Edwards lead this team from the backfield.
I love the prospect of Edwards as the feature back...a McCaffrey type back, runner/receiver
Love the optimism. I think it’s a little of the fear of the unknown that’s got its grip on some of us. New personnel everywhere and a brutal schedule to boot.
You're a Michigan legend Jim. Go blue
Loving the Brandy show, Jim. Keep ‘em coming!
Mahomes definitely was the difference. That muffed punt was huge. Turned all the momentum. Totally agree with you on that. At the end of regulation, the 49ers definitely played really soft coverage. That wasn't good too. 49ers definitely should have won the game, but they couldn't finish. Love the perspective Mr. Brandstatter.
They couldn't finish...those are the exact words they are using today
Jim, honestly....is the NFL rigged for gambling as it is becoming more clear by the year? It is becoming WWE QUICKLY IMO. Miss your Michigan broadcast. Later bud
WWE is not far off the mark
@@JimBrandstatter76 Thanks for the reply Jim. You are 100% an icon! Enjoy your short videos, love the analysis. Thank you
Hi Jim - appeciate your perspectives as always. Questions for a potential future podcast - how far away do you think the Lions are from winning the Superbowl? What in your expert view are key needs in the draft and also with free agency? Agreed Patrick Mahomes is an amazing player and has an ability to "rise to the occasion". I was glad to see Jake Moody do well in his big moment! Kind regards and thank you!
Thanks for subscribing and your perspective....I was glad Moody answered the bell too
JIM!!! Un-RETIRE. Now! That other fine fella that sat next to you in 2021, against hi tate.. if I say his name, I’ll cry. You two gentlemen have been a staple in my life.
Thanks
Interesting take Mr. Brandstatter. I am more of a college guy just looking for a good game. I agree with you on the football gods though. It should be a fun game
Fun game indeed...both teams really good
I agree. SF 31 KC 27
Bring him back he beats Lomas Brown
Never thought I would say I miss another man’s voice but you are the voice of Michigan football go blue!!
That was a rough watch. Really was pulling for the lions. Great analysis, Mr. Brandstatter! Thanks for great work
You forgot to say, "You take the points!!!"
It would have injected some new life and story lines into the Super Bowl. A team that’s never been there. But now its another dose of the same ole
17 point leads can sometimes give a team too much false security
Well said Jim.
Learning experience for the Lions and their coaching staff, football is a 60 minute plus game. You win as a team and you lose as a team.
Tough loss
If I’m being honest here guys, that one hurt and it still stings tonight. The 2nd half of that game I won’t be able to forget for awhile…
The kicker situation crossed my mind as well, particularly on the second 4th down decision to go for it instead of trying the field goal......the camera panned a rather stern look on our kicker, as if to say, "Why aren't you giving me a chance to add 3 more points to our total?"......am not saying the score would've ended up 37-34 had Campbell gone that route and made both of them, but it certainly would've dictated the thinking on the 49ers and their play calls......I agree, you take the points on the road in a crucial game, you may have to put your own thinking aside to trust the offense to execute it to perfection, which of course ended up not happening either time......and alas, the cries of "Wait 'til next year" arise again for a 67th straight season......UGH!!!
