    Thanks! Haven’t listened for a few days..figured you could use a cup of coffee. Thanks for keeping up the good work. I’ve been selling a few pieces and resisting temptation to buy something else. I’ll more than likely end up with line magnetic. But instead of taking out a loan I’m saving until I can afford it. Unlike before I would be lusting for something bigger and better and go into debt to buy it. I’m off that merry go round..thank goodness. And enjoying the music

    For most people in this hobby,i would advise that once they're happy they should leave their systems alone and buy more music instead.If they feel the upgrade bug,finding equipment that has upgradeabilty,especially in the power supply section is a good route and will simply provide an enhaced version of what they already have. Box swapping combined with the fear of missing out and having anxiety about whether they've bought the best for their money can drive many mad.Often hitting upon the "right" combination is born more out of luck than judgement.

    The stream 2 is rock solid. Bought mine new a little over a year ago and use it to feed a Bel Canto DAC 2.8 with aes. No click and pops, no sample rate errors, it just works and sounds fabulous. I added a ifi ethernet filter and it took it to another level. 2k isn't chump change and Bel Canto gear is made in the US by real people that answer emails and phone calls, even the owner. I mainly use Roon for convenience, but the Seek app is a legit too.

    It's hard to stop when you haven't reached your goal, and I submit that most haven't because they are going down the wrong road to achieve audio piece. Just stop buying new gear and instead learn about and do up your room with proper acoustics, when you manage that and the system then sounds way way way better than without the acoustics then finish it off by dialing in the maximum musicality, once your system has max musicality it is easy to forget about the gear and just dig the music. IMHO. For me tuning the system with materials and parts on hand is way more fun than buying a 5k$ hunk of gear and then being disappointed until you replace it with another more expensive piece, involvement in the purchase then endless disappointment in the performance. Cheers.

  • @greatlookinglandscap
    @greatlookinglandscap12 күн бұрын

    I do not trouble myself with any of it.If someones acoustics are so bad best address it.Im content with speaker topologies working in my room and it sounds very very good with no tretment.Would never even of built a system at all if my room was bad too start.Can it be better sure everything can be but in the end I just know its just a stereo and that is all is.I am here to give back what I have learned over 3 decades right down to the pain to how to buy right.It has got me out of self and thats a freedom.Im grateful for my channel

    Looks like you haven't delved down the rabbit hole of room treatments yet. There's another half year of diversion for you, LOL. All kidding aside, I'm with you on it turning into a passionless hobby. It's more of a technical pursuit at this point. But if it isn't audio, it will be something else that my mind's hamster wheel will spin for.

  • @greatlookinglandscap
    @greatlookinglandscap12 күн бұрын

    no issue with sound here.No one unless being here can judge the sound nor the actual room kayout and size.I got lucky as I would of never even built a system if acoustics were a problem . Rabbit hole though is real as you say will just come from another angle.No escape.But audio pursuit so to speak is not an issue in my life been there for done it.If you watch the theme of my channel its what I promote just let go and enjoy.No perfect system exists quit spinning the wheels there will always be a flaw the brain picks out .I have other things I focus on.This channel is just to try and help share what I have been through and maybe some will relate

    Owning 5 separate systems for different rooms and uses. Confirmed. I struggle with being addicted to this hobby. I do have tinnitus having music running in the background helps, but I certainly do not need 5 systems. Despite my weakness, what I do not do, is constantly switch out gear, a lot of what I own I have owned for nearly a decade. The attack I see, is we are merciless battered in this consumerist culture of ours with messages that state that we have to have the newest, most advanced iteration of the products that we enjoy, that there is something "BETTER" out there. The truth is, there is. Hence the struggle. Nonetheless, a lot of time this is utter B.S. many a times I upgraded something and found it to be a step backwards, it is also very true that newer does not always mean better. Knowing I am powerless against the seduction of upgradeitis I constantly pray for a gift of gratitude for what I have been blessed with. This helps, when tempted by those shiny new boxes, to put things on hold and that purchasing a brand-new component/speaker does not guarantee that I will gain anything, or I will achieve happiness through pride of ownership. The big lie for us living in the 1st world is we get duped into thinking joy comes from having, not from the one true source, that can give us the gift of joy that surpasses all understanding. A last thought, this approach of mine is both a gift and spiritual discipline. A discipline I have not mastered and fail at far too often, I try not to beat myself up too much on it, only move on and recognize I am a flawed being in constant need of the one's gift of forgiveness and grace to receive and achieve it.
