    you gotta use the doordash for pickup man! knocks off all fees, tips, etc. Only problem is all retailers mark up their products on DD so it's still not 100% at value, but certainly much better than delivery (for $ value, not time)

    Redstone signature 5% restaurant and gas + a bunch of 3% Discover it 5% groceries (rotating switch to redstone 3% after quarter) Amex BCE 3% online spend Citi Venture (working on elevated SUB) rent (flat $2 fee for rent payment or no fee if I go in person) and misc spend 2x points. Looking to get the US Bank kroger or USBAR card in January for 5% (capped) or 4.5% mobile wallet spend respectively. Would get it sooner but as mobile wallet hasn't popped up on the discover this year I'm expecting it to be the final quarters category

    Luke makes a good point. I wouldnt transfer points to IHG but i will buy their 0.5 cent points and redeem them at 0.5 cent and make use of the buy 4 for 3 benefit making the redemption more valuable.

    Bro united has to be A only because of the excursionist perk. I booked flights from Istanbul to Madrid to Amsterdam with my other regular flights as us domestic flights from Chicago to Denver for 7000 a piece one way and 0 points for my international trips

    You can always count on Uncle Luke for not sugar coating benefits! That Fine Hotels & Resorts credit has never seemed like a good deal to me unless you were legit going to book that hotel anyway at that price.

    Speaking of confusing Australia and Austria, when I was in my early 20's I worked with an indie band from Australia. The prior wonnabe label shipped all their CDs to Austria, and they had a hell of a time redirecting them down under! Alaska is in my S tier, but I have their business card and BILT.

    The worst part about business class overseas travel with a family is those taxes and fees!!! Trying to find for 4 people, round-trip, next summer, and it's daunting!

    controversial take: Marriott to at least C tier because they can transfer out to other airline partners although not at a "good" rate. But if you use marriott card at marriott stays, thats 6x (and thus 2x) on airlines such as AA. Which at this point in time is one way to get AA miles if you're staying at Marriott

    I've got a weird question. Since Chase has a bonus transfer to Marriott at the current time. Could we transfer to Marriott get bonus transfer amount. Then transfer to Alaskan airlines? Has anybody done this?

    @@czrs85 I don’t think anyone would do that because the math is so bad. Let’s take a look. 100k chase UR points equals 170k Marriott points. Transferring 3:1 to Alaska gives you 56,666 Alaska miles. So you are spending 100k ur points to get 56k airline miles.

    A big hack for the Doordash double $10 non-restaurant credit is that it works for pickup at convivence stores with restaurant foods, Sheetz in particular being a big one for those on the east coast. I get very close to the full $10 value just ordering food there on my way home.

    Great video! Thank you for all the information! You raise a great point about needing to factor in the annual fee for our Player 2 when we consider these premium credit cards! When I got the Amex Platinum it was already $695. Later I added my wife for $175 with plans to add my child when they became older. At the time it was up to 3 people for $175. Now it’s basically $900 a year for that card for just 2 people.

    Great take on the card. My recent experience with canceled flights after Tropical Storm Debby confirmed my belief in Chase Travel and the protections you mention. If I were to have my credit card wish on the CSR granted, it would be high-end status with Hyatt or IHG. That's a glaring omission from my vantage. Keep up the good work.

    “no limit to how much you can earn” “0 annual fee” “3% on entertainment” “Unlimited cash back won’t expire for the life of the account” For not having to pay for the account I’m happy with the 5x travel points for my hotels when I drive places I hardly ever fly more than 1-2 times per year Maybe if I’m rich and can afford to bust plane trips like Taylor swift I won’t be needing the Amex card busting a lot of food neither. Just happy with hotel / Uber / groceries and entertainment back back. It’s simple and you don’t have to worry about it.

    I finally got approved for the S1 today! I've never been so excited over a credit card that I wasn't getting a bonus from. But the fact that there's no SUB to hit, I could apply as often as I wanted to until I got it. With a lot of cards I have to get the timing right so that I don't have too many SUBs going at once, so that helped I think.

    I was shocked they approved me on the first try. That in turn got my status matched to Caesars Diamond= No resort fees. Plus 8x for gas . Im def keeping this card and using it often.

    I was at JFK yesterday and I was able to experience the new Delta One Lounge. I had arrived on Virgin Atlantic business class (via KLM - kudos to you for the idea) which granted me access. A Delta first class ticket and a Amex Platinum did not 🤨 The lounge was amazing. Delta is upping their game. The sheer mass of hospitality and alcohol was stunning. This lounge was leaps and bounds above Centurion lounges. There is a new king in US domestic lounges 😀

    The card just isn’t worth it. It’s better to run a preferred with a venture x (travel protections), or just a preferred. Maybe on day the reserve will match up. Needs more bandaids right now

    Is it bad to cancel a credit card? I had applied for a credit card with capital one quick silver and don’t really use it, I applied in February and have had it since. I have a platinum credit card too with capital one which is my oldest account. Was looking into getting Chase Freedom Unlimited then Chase Sapphire Preferred since I bank with Chase already

    Mind you I didn’t know of anything when it comes to credit cards, so I went with capital one route not knowing anything. Only have two credit cards (Two Capital One Credit Cards, Platinum Secured & QuickSilver Card)

    Meh it's a good card, but the only one of the "big three" that can't cover the annual fee in usable credits. Protections are very good to have, but how often are they actually used? The portal boost is also huge. Maybe I just don't travel enough to have issues to leverage these protections. I find it weird that I can justify the Platinum more than this. Like you said, I can't wait until Citi comes out with a big daddy card themselves to play in this game. I have the Venture X and don't have buyer's remorse.

    @@Sivic50 the platinum is a great “gameable” card for sure. However, those travel protections are good for peace of mind. But I also think most travel credits are only for folks they travel a lot

    As of right now you can access them once with a PP. I expect that to go away at some point.

    Is there a rewards program that gives spend credit for all flights booked without a credit card? I hate that I spend 3k on tickets to fly the family to Cancun every year with delta and only get 500 mqd status..any tips for the best rewards program for families?

    I can assure you Chase hasn't done a great job rolling out Chase lounge in Phoenix. It's been "coming soon" for over a year now. No clue what's going on behind that wall but it should've been done several months ago.

    Last week I spoke with one of the employees at the AMEX lounge who I have have seen there for many years. He told me he is going to apply for the Chase Lounge as they are going to open up applications in a few weeks. I asked him do they have an opening date, and he said, I would think soon if they are taking apps. But yes, I have seen that "Coming Soon" sign since that portion of the D gates has opened, close to two years ago now.

    @LukesPointsandMiles fair point. Just frustrated with lack of progress on one here considering we're like the 5th largest city in the U.S. and it's pushing 2 years to roll out their lounge. These lounges are pretty basic builds so it shouldn't be too hard to pump them out when they've already acquired the space but I digress. Great content though!

    Genuineness from a YT covering points/miles/credit cards?! Dare I say you may have started something refreshing. I will say, I’ve used the portal several times back when the AF was 450 to book last minute flights and it did save me quite a bit. I think now more than ever, getting your points/miles to 1.5 is nothing to scoff at That said, I’ll stick with the Ritz card for now. I’m no coupon lady 😂
