I would pick through them to see what I could salvage and nurse the plant back to health.
Peat moss can vary from 3 to 5.5 in ph... If you get a bag that is 3, the plant will die... In a few months the PH of any peat moss you buy will not support blueberries... It will quickly go up near 6.5 just from watering it. Then what? The answer to fixing PH, is sulfur.....
This is an experiment. I use sulfur in my, real plantings. So far the plant has lived a year and a half in the bag, no chlorosis. I believe if you have hard water it will affect the PH--I don’t have that problem. I believe the slow-release, acid fertilizer I am using has a percentage of sulfur. Sulfur produces a bacteria that produces sulfuric acid. You can adjust the ph of your irrigation by irrigating with sulfuric acid……anywho just a fun experiment is all.
@@2Birds1Stone_ As long as you monitor the PH, that is all that really matters. Starting out that way will work, but at some point the PH will no longer be acidic in Peat... If you are using fertilizer that has ammonium sulfate or any other sulfate, the PH should stay slightly acidic. I have to deal with local soil that is 8.0 to 8.5 and have tried many things, including what you have done here using 100% peat. My irrigation water is alkaline as well. I just wanted to mention that you can get peat that is so acidic, that whatever you put in it will die. And testing PH is the best way to ensure acid loving plants do their best. Guess how I found that out... A simple PH test .....
This is nothing new
New to me! What is new?
Two birds, one scone!
Ufff! Now I have to rename my whole channel.
You forgot to shout “F&@KYou” at the same time . I currently feel this way about a tree or two out back 😅
Sweet let's see it in 4 weeks
I've had similar experiences. I would just put a few ladybugs there and they'll be gone. and then the ladybugs will be like "this seems like a lovely place to raise a family" and next year you'll have a buncha ladybugs and no aphids
Hummmm
I have this mower too. Good mower, but batteries are the weak spot to me. If my grass is damp in the slightest, it clogs up. Also both batteries drain and takes me 2 days to finish an average sized yard. If the batteries were cheaper, having 3 or 4 would solve the issue, but I only have 2 right now.
I want to add the drain plates, paint them white with blue trim and have a mad teaparty
Thank You I wanted to see some real cutting now I feel better about my purchase
Sevin dust
hairspray and a lighter just saying
Buy some ladybugs?
Maybe they like artichoke
Oh I think they love them! Maybe they will ignore the apple if they keep producing! 🤔
Interesting
Let me guess… the bag ripped open or atleast came pouring out the top and killed the blueberry bush because that brand of peat moss will expand multiple sizes larger after watering
Nope 2 years in and bag is still going-I took some of the moss out through hole before planting. I have 3 different blubes in the bags currently. Not saying it is a perfect solution but has been working well.
Sour, but the commitment was there!😅
Gotta give the little bugs what they want!
Cumbia 🕺
La cumbia de la bacteria beneficial
Do you sell seeds?
Nope. Sorry in the USA you can them in most nurseries--probably don’t grow true to seed.
I heard someone said grow it in peat moss. But How do I keep it moist?
These ones in the peat moss bag I just deep water once every 2 weeks--but a really good soaking. I poke a few holes in the bottom and lower sides but it really keeps moisture well as there isn’t much evaporation due to the plastic.
Why do you have a greenhouse for the Owari inside a greenhouse? :)
Just double protected in the winter-each layer supposedly brings you up a grow zone. We got down to 11* f and they did just fine. When they get bigger they probably will only have 1 layer of protection in the winter--just insurance.
@@2Birds1Stone_ I have an arctic frost satsuma in Snohomish county, it survived 11F with just a frost cloth and a water barrel. I think the greenhouse will be nice to provide the heat to ripen the fruit. How has the fruit been so far?
My father-in-law bought one of these fiberglass greenhouses new in the 80’s and grew vegetables in it right up until he died in 2010. You wouldn’t think the translucent fiberglass lets in enough light but it does. You walk in and it seems plenty bright in there. Every few years he’d pressure wash it to knock the Pacific Northwest moss growing on it off and it kept chugging along growing veggies like mad. Yes they are much more expensive. The 28 ft is about $11-12k delivered so $500 clams is a deal
I have a love hate with it…..just finished pressure washing and it is much brighter than before. The fiberglass is starting to shed a bit and that shedding collects dust and debris. I think I will be resurfacing slowly the outside like the hull of a sailboat. It really does create a great environment for veggies-especially the leafy green type.
You might check with a company called Solar Gem greenhouses. They sell a very similar fiberglass unit but they do gel-coat theirs with a special formula gel-coat. Maybe you can purchase their gel-coat? Here is their statement about their proprietary gel-coat *Gel Coat Exterior The Solar Gem Greenhouse is the only fiberglass greenhouse with a gel coat exterior. We use the highest quality marine grade gel coat on our greenhouses. The resin we use is formulated exclusively for us to our specifications. Both the fiberglass interior and gel coat exterior are UV stabilized. So, unlike all other fiberglass greenhouses and fiberglass panels on the market, the Solar Gem Greenhouses will not pit or get rough on the outside. They will not become a dirt trap! Our gel coat stays smooth for as long as you own the greenhouse and it does not discolor. Simply hose it off if it gets dusty or dirty. Your Solar Gem Greenhouse will always look new. We are the easiest greenhouse to maintain!* I will say that over the years my wife’s father’s greenhouse started looking a little weather-beaten and grungy but that really didn’t affect it that much for growing plants in it. Good luck with yours solargemgreenhouses.com/product/large-greenhouse-8-x-15/
Great song Choice!
Thanks! I thought it fit quite well!
I just bought and planted 2 peach trees 2 years ago. 1 made it and now has peach leaf curl. Im so mad.
So frustrating!!! I have 4 trees totally suffering currently. Why do I do it to myself?
Should be called: Dessert king 👑!
Right? I don’t get the 🌵 desert 🐪 in the name.
Ur lame
Disappointed that you didn't bite straight from the ground 😂
My wife won’t let me! Says it is to weird.
Zone 8b…. But are they cold hardy?
Probably down to 5-10* f. This is a good breba producing fig good for cool climates that can’t ripen fruit due to “heat hours.”
I plant for bees because I’m surrounded by Mexican grandmas! They like my honey too. And Mexican grandmas know how to feed a hungry worker!
The bees get the flowers….and now I have cilantro all over the place.
bro pual you look no different this is from your haters tosh and emi
Do some pull-ups 💪
This is just a novelty type. Terrible if you want a lot of berries. Pink lemonade is so unproductive
I agree. I have never had the plant truly loaded as of yet. But they are tasty and fun!
@@2Birds1Stone_ agreed 💯 they are fun. If you want ease of growth and great productivity, I've had stellar results with CHIPPEWA variety. And it's the best tasting one I grow. I currently have 13 diff varieties. Chippewa is by far the standout on flavor and growability
@@REDNECKROOTS Isn’t Chippewa a half-highbush? I’ll buy one for my collection! I’m at 19-a healthy addiction!
Delicious
Can’t wait!
Love everything you're doing! Keep up the good work!
Thank you so much! 😊 So much fun in the big backyard.
Hi coco
😻
Good for Maine zone 5?
Uh probably more like zone 3 or 4 actually
Would you believe…illegal to grow in Maine!
Love the song !
Me too! At your 2nd wedding you told me!
Is this one self propelled? Im looking at mowers and wondering who services battery mowers.
Self propelled! I didn’t think I needed that-but love it.
I love it good job!!!!
Thanks!! I hope they taste good!!
Look into Jostaberry, it’s a cross between gooseberry and currant and has no thorns and very prolific with large berries.
I just looked them up and they look juicy and delicious. Definitely going to add Jostaberry!
Thanks
He let the intrusive thoughts win 😅
Damn curl!
Is it a virus?
It is a fungus. Usually not fatal, and with the first flush of leaves. It proliferates at under 50* f weather with moisture =pnw spring
I have a couple Frost peaches that are somewhat resistant to the curl, but all my other 5 peach and nectarines have the curl. There are 3 cultivars that are totally immune to it and it’s Indian free, black boy and Oregon leaf curl free cultivar. I’m gonna graft these 3 cultivars onto those 5 that get the curl next year. I’m tired on my trees getting the curl. They are all hanging onto a handful of fruit this year though.
On of these is frost…..I’m going to try the Indian free as well. Ufff I can’t help torching myself.
However, liquid-cop works too.
I’ve tried it and applied it 4 times before bud break…….I just live in fungus city.
Hahahah you’re funny
😜
Peach went and had himself a little accident
I hear you!! I’ve done the same with the same frustration
Like others have stated you needed a bush hog not a lawn mower. Why did you let it get that high? The batteries are over heating with much of a load on them. Just keep sticking with that battery stuff. Don't get me wrong battery equipment has it's place but not when it comes to heavy use like this. Just my opinion
You should see how much manure I can haul with the trailer on my Prius! The mower is still going-one of my batteries did go bad-but all is well!
How often do you apply the Ammonium sulfate please..thanks!
I apply in spring as buds are swelling, then again in June. Never past July in my area as I don’t want too much green growth late into fall. Hope that helps.
@@2Birds1Stone_ Okay, thank you so much for the info!
I hear raw milk works
