Sure, I'm not the fastest or chattiest of the bunch. But I like to get straight to the trail so that you might get an idea of what your experience will be like when you hit up the same trail.
My aim thus far has been to showcase the trail itself. Before I would go out on rides, I found myself looking on KZread for videos of the trail I wanted to hit. I found that there were 3 types of videos:
1: Low quality uploads by people who could ride like me, but couldn't edit or didn't have access to the video equipment I have.
2. Videos by guys who could send the trail at Mach speeds; which made it hard for me to know how difficult the trail actually was.
3. Video blogs where the trail wasn't the focus of the video. I love following these types of channels, but sometimes I just want to cut straight to the trail riding itself.
I'm trying to find my spot, and having fun doing so.

Sick bar!
That helmet cam comes in pretty handy to cut to last second :)
Yeah! I really dig having a second angle to go to when necessary! Plus the different perspective helps depending on the circumstances!
That bridge has anorexia
Man when they plan a „relaxing“ day
I'm thinking Eastern WA has a lot more to offer than I ever realized! What else do you guys got?
Suggestions always welcome... but in the meantime, sounds like you could ask your wife 😂
Another great one! Glad you guys had fun, hopefully next time we can ride out there together 😊
Great adventures guys! I need to get over the mountains there. Hopefully you’ve ridden Rosie Boa? It’s a great ride as well.
Great video series \m/ Glad you guys had so much fun!
Hey dude! I'm glad your digging the videos! Were you watching these as you plan your ride on the Lemmon Drop?
Great experience and summary!
Thanks dude! I LOVED this ride! Glad you liked the video!
Great video - nice channel. If you like - the channel "Sofa Dans Le Bois" has a 30 minute (and great) video on building the newest trail at SDM.
What is up with bros stem and handle bars
They are the Bontrager RSL bars that came stock on the bike. They are super polarizing; I love em, but they get a lot of hate! Lol. Just know - it looks a lot less weird without the crazy fisheye effect from the camera in vertical mode...
@@DustyTrailsMTB they look good but I’ve never seen them before
Hell no
Why does everybody on a mountain bike now think they have to sound like a valley girl? If the trails are that sick, they need medicine.
I only have two brain cells dedicated to speech when I'm pushing myself like this! Everything else is focused on keeping me alive. So all I can manage to say is "siiick" or "holy f***"!
@@DustyTrailsMTB It's not just you. Every single MTB video is full of sick, knar, and rowdy.
I just rode this trail last week. AMAZING. We got to do it in the pouring rain though. We skipped the upper section because we didn't take the fire road up. We biked the trails all the way to where upper Black begins and had enough hike a bike. So, it was middle and lower for us. Still a BLAST. Go hit Dupont. Their trails are super nice, fast, flowy, and nowhere near as much chunk and rock as Black Mountain.
Sounds like you had a sick ride! We did ride dupont! I LOVE big rock trail. I get overly amped for any giant piece of rock I can get my wheels on!
I wish i could riding northshores one day😢... I ride on these stripes on the street everytime😅(only 10cm maybe)i can ride them all day😅😅
If you can keep your wheels on the yellow divider line between road directions, then you're 10 steps ahead of me!
@@DustyTrailsMTB ohh thanks a lot🤣🤣but,no,im only start riding bikes when i was very very young(first motorcycle ride with 3and a half years. 2 or 3 years in my childhood i ride unicycle and art-bike,,maybe it comes from that🤫🤷😅. The northshores in your video looking so beautifull🤩
This was a really good video! The in and out looks so easy on gopro but when u guys crawley up again u can see the steepness. When have one or two steep rock rolls but not this long ones. Man that is scary and well ridden down. Good brakes the most important, plus good grippy tires. Remy what a legend!
Thanks bud! Where do you ride that you have some good rock slabs? I Love slab riding! But they NEVER look as steep as they actually are!
That trail looks like so much fun! Love all the optional features. Another fun video!!
Thanks bud! It felt really good to be back on our bikes in the PNW! As always, I appreciate the view and the kind words! You're a legend! 👊
Stop braking in the corners
@@blakeNelson-h8c I know. I need to learn how to corner. 🤦♂️
This trails is amazing
This entire region was so special! It was nice to be out on a ride with such incredible views!
@@DustyTrailsMTB 😇👍🏻
So glad you checked this one out! Such a fun trail 😊
Thanks for the recommendation! I'm excited to show off Xanadu next!
@@DustyTrailsMTB Nice! I'd love to ride those trails again!
Are you out here for the rock rolls and road gaps? Or those wild flowers!?
💐 😍
Yes!
Awesome video! Nice riding
Thanks bud! I'm glad you enjoyed it! I hope you got to enjoy the trail as well!
Wtf are those handlebars/stem?
haha. These things are so polarizing! They are the Bontrager RSL bars that came stock on my Trek Fuel EX 9.8 (Gen 6)
@@DustyTrailsMTB oh lol. They looked kinda goofy at first but if they save weight.
@@owenstauff1856 I like the way they look. But I understand why so many people think they look awful. You're not alone! LOL
@@DustyTrailsMTB yeah true
Hold up, wait a minute. You saw a bear on a trail named Ursus? That's like a scene in a movie that's too unbelievable to be true. :-) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ursus_(mammal) Great video! I've never heard of this trail system, but it's been added to my bucket list, those rocks are unreal, where did they even come from?
Right!? I was so amped on seeing a bear like a trail named after the little bud! This place was sick. I hope they continue to build out here and take advantage of the giant rocks a little more.
How and hell, you guys have lot of balance
Minute 3:30, wtf is that guy riding a hardtail with a rigid fork?! F**king legend...
Right dude!? Like, how does he still have functional joints?
Beutiful forest
Man, this looks sick! We are taking a road trip to Boston to visit family soon and I might have to make this a stop! And also make a few bouldering stops on the ride 😂
I just put in all the destinations on Google Maps, and it says you should do it! Looks like its not too bad of a detour, and the trails are super fun!
@@DustyTrailsMTB I just checked it out and yeah not too bad! Now just to convince my GF that its a GREAT idea to let me do that on the drive there haha!
It's too bad Jake's Rocks still has the same problem. Just very straight trails with few fun turns
Have you ridden here? Because I am wondering if other people see the potential here as well. I see you're from the PNW, and this place could learn a lot from the PNW or Quebec! I see no reason there aren't more ladders and bridges and skinnies connecting some of these massive boulders!
@@DustyTrailsMTBthis is my local trail and we love coming here. It’s a pretty new organization and they’re slowly upgrading it. I can’t wait till they get a pump track or proper bike park
@@MydNitQ ah man! I'm glad to hear they are upgrading! This place was so fun. They've clearly put a lot of thought and hard work into this place. I hope the trail builders get a chance to visit Trails like Neilson Nord in Quebec, or something out in Alice Lake or the North Shore of Vancouver before they get to work. If they could take inspiration from these places, and make trails with the rocks you guys have there, this place would have some legendary trails!
Yay! Been looking forward to this one.
I had a version where I called you out by name, but it got cut due to timing. 😢 I hope you still managed to enjoy it!
I need to ride more bikes in PA! What other gems are you guys hiding from us!?
Frick Park in Pittsburgh is pretty great
Alsea is the BOMB!💣 An amazingly crafted gem! Thanks Team Dirt!🙏😉
Team Dirt crushed it on this one! Chef's Kiss 🤌
The drive to Alsea falls is so beautiful, probably one of the best roads in Oregon as well as the trail. 👍
And great free camping in such a pretty forest! This place is a gem!
You said you fell...why? That's why they came back
Well done learning to ride Squamish and over coming your fears Bro! Having ridden there for years and had my fair share of "learning experiences", there is nothing better than having a coach like Wade to give you pointers on how to ride better! Best of luck on your continued success!
Thanks bud! Wade is a legend for sure. I just wrapped up my second summer here (more content to come). Let's just say... I have a lot more learning to do, still! Lol. This place never gets easier, the trails just get harder!
That stem bar thing is mad
That is insane skills in my opinion
Getting every dollar worth outta that fork
Well put!
Google mountain bike accidents. So many permanent injuries. Cliff jumping has better injury stats.
Is your icon a picture of a motorcycle? I mean, google motorcycle accidents. Those are numbers I don't want to mess with! I guess we all have our own thing! 😁
Good stuff man. I agree with your assessment on the climb, for Buckwheat/Bennet or Avery Creek climbing Clawhammer to Upper Upper is the way to go, but I do think it takes longer-if anyone cares about the fastest route.
That way gets you the awesome descent from the top of upper-upper black to club gap, Avery creek and buckwheat.
Good insight! I appreciate you sharing that here! I'm sure some folks are gonna find that helpful. Thanks dude!
crazy, the camera really doesnt due this one justice!
Right? This trail is full of nasty ledge holes and steps, and none of that shows! The gopro effect is real!
Farlow Gap is the roughest trail in Pisgah
Well damn. Now I need to come back!
@@DustyTrailsMTB Honestly not worth it. It is mostly rated harder because of the deadly creek crossings, and the climb SUCKS.
@@DustyTrailsMTBas far as sanctioned trails go, Farlow Gap is definitely more challenging. Pilot Rock in Mills River and Beehive in Wilson Creek are at least in same ballpark.
@christhompson4542 I need to look into all of Wilson Creek. I hear that's the Zone!
@@DustyTrailsMTBit’s amazing. Better than Brevard IMO if you can deal with it very off the grid. No cell, power, water, houses, gas stations… nothing but forest and trails.
Another classic 🤘
😳
Yes…..But is it as Tough as Value Added, Penthouse Slab, Don’t Tell Jeremy and K-Line???
Not even a little bit.
Trail so technical I crashed in my kitchen watching it.
🤣 nice. I hope you were wearing a helmet.
Is this the toughest trail in Pisgah? Or is there something else I should check out next time?
Farlow Gap was more chunky but less fun.
@hstravis I shoulda gone on that ride with you, but I don't think I could have handled the mileage! 😅
@@hstravis Second this to the T. Farlow ate my bike and we both wrecked on my last ride there...made for good content though haha!
@WanderingWheeliesMTB oh I missed that one! I'll have to check that video out
@@DustyTrailsMTB i ate shit on the rock drop haha! luckily we both just had scrapes on bruises for the most part! But yeah, i wont be riding Farlow for a long time. Would much rather hit Bennet at this point
Entrails kicked my butt today dude! Haha! Enjoyed this!
I rode it yesterday, and struggled HARD! It's such a tough gatekeeper!
Excellent ride and video!!! How long did the climbs take/total?
I'm not sure exactly. The middle climb to the lower section of trail was probably only 15 minutes? But it wasn't a nice time. 😂
Lol!!
Nice ride man respect
