    Speaking as a Canadian of Scottish descent and what I what I observed of my own family, I see the Scots as a proud and passionate people who have the good sense to laugh at themselves. We have a dark sense of humour. I'm tempted to say that's how my ancestors survived living next the English.

    There was always banter between nationalities, but some hard of thinking people carried it to extremes. The SNP latched on to these people and fomented it by every means possible for obsessive political reasons. Thankfully the Scots have realised this and things are looking up for the first time in seventeen years.

    Nonsense on two counts. There's nothing wrong with Scots wanting Scotland back in our own hands, rather than being ruled by politicians from another country. And second, check the polls, support for the union has never been as low as it is right now. It was 55% a decade ago. 46% today. And the SNP still won 30% of the vote after 17 years in power. Name another party that has ever managed that. And Labour got 35% of the vote. They would have called that catastrophic, in the 2000s.

    Being a born NE jock myself and half Orcadian (Norse-Orkadija) 🇳🇴 , I have more of a deeper and closer relationship with England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿, as a result of the following below; English anglo blooded cousins and in-laws, Baby sat when i was a kid in the 90s and 2000s by a English family friend, Having more ❤ intimacy relationships, and one night stands with English mature cougar/milfs, than Scottish lassies, and many other reasons too. 😊 so my jockland pict-viking bloodlines, and Anglo-Saxon heritage is of the same relationship mixture ❤. 🇬🇧 ❤

    All I can say is 'things must have changed'. My family moved to Scotland when I was 15, and we were never allowed to forget we were English. The snide remarks, the constant banter they thought was screamingly funny...it was all very tiresome. The absolute pits was when my young brother got beaten up at school because the English had whopped the Scots at football. Pure racism.

  • @OneTrueScotsman
    @OneTrueScotsman9 күн бұрын

    Nothing's changed. This video was produced to represent the producer's own point of view. Whilst I would never take my frustration out on any particular English person, I don't like England itself, for the way it has, and still does, treat Scotland. I don't blame all individuals for that though. But I'll always dislike the union and support independence. Sorry to hear about your brother. Not sure it's racism though. But it was bigotry.

    I have friends in every home nation plus the Republic of Ireland. It's disappointing when you get institutionalised hatred for a neighbour just because your parents said so. Britain and ROI. Legends. Every last one of them. Except Boris.

  • @OneTrueScotsman

    "just because your parents said so" Nae. Just because of a thousand years of history, and also current politics, and their offence taking at our desire for independence, like we're taking away something that they claim belongs to them.

    I am born and bred in Manchester ! I lived and worked in AYR on the Airbus A380 aircraft in 2003, for one year, my former partner is born and bred in Glasgow, we have a daughter together who was raised for four years in Manchester until we split and she moved back to Glasgow. I have spent many many days , weeks, months in Glasgow , and travelled all over the lowlands, the isles and the Highlands, and I can honestly say, that I have ALWAYS been treated like a KING, by Scottish Folk. Glasgow and Manchester could almost be 'Twin Cities', the history is very similar, as is the culture, former great industries, and definitely the humour! And the football rivalry. I will never forget my late 'Father in Law' saying to me in the 90's, He said " Son! The Man from Thae North ae England, es more aken, tae the Man fror thae South ae Scotland than thae South ae England" ! Sorry to say this to my many Friends from South of England , but the Man was spot on! dx
