Thank you. your video was great and to the point. I started to remove a fentanyl patch from my dog and I stopped when I realized this was gonna hurt him. I will try the baby oil. The 2 minute, 18 second ad for the Farmer's Dog I was forced to watch by KZread so I could watch your 1 minute, 51 second video was obnoxious. I know that's not your fault.

Thank you very much! My cat just got diagnosed with CKD after going through 2 weeks with FLUTD. My cat's doctor advised me to give liquid treatment through sc once every 2 days. This guide really helped me and my cat! I can't thank you enough!! I used iv cath G26 to admit the liquid, because my cat moved so much I'm afraid the needle will change position😂😅

What to do if vacuum forms in vial?
I just adopted a 10 month old kitten. Her breathing seems very fast and irregular when she's not resting, especially when she's purring... Her whole body seems to slightly vibrate with her breath very fast with the purring. It's not due to stress, these are times when she seems very affectionate. At rest, the count is normal. Should I be concerned? I just went through a horrible time with my last kitty as she was sick for many months and this kitty was supposed to help me heal. I can't adopt a sick kitty (even though I'm falling in love already!). Thanks.

Forgive my American English: If there's no fluid in the drip chamber after connecting the tubing to the bag and closing the clamp "roller ball" then squeeze the drip chamber until it is about half full. Having sufficient fluid in the drip chamber allows you to see the drips. RN/Paramedic
My cat was given the kitty magic sedation at an urgent care vet and they couldnt complete her exam and said she was still "very much awake and aggressive" even after sedation. Why didnt they give her more? The notes say "patient was given .11 ml of each of the following meds mixed together IM, ketamine, butorphanol, dexmedetomidine." It is unclear to me if that means .11 ml altogether or .11 ml of each drug. In the past, other vets used an isoflurane box chamber to sedate her for exam. I stopped going to that vet after reading about how stressful and dangerous those are. But will kitty magic not work for my cat or did this vet just not use enough? Please reply. We got no answers and need to go to another vet.
1:22 pm PST. Great, informative video! Thank you for making this.. I have an 11 wk. old Yorky puppy born with ME. She is doing very well with small vertical feedings (also giving her water) multiple times a day. Keeping her upright for a minimum of 15 minutes after feeding really seems to do the trick. The one time I got in a hurry (by only a few minutes!!) led to a very costly and frightening emergency trip to her vet. So this is my own experience so far with dealing with this disorder. Vertical feedings and keep upright for however long it takes for your dog to empty his/her esophagus. Sending you and your pup lots of love and patience for your journey together ahead.

In the past a diff. vet gave me extra of mirtazapine so I'd have it...this new vet wants me to jump thru all these hoops.....my cat is 15 and isn't eating well....part of the issue I believe is acid stomach ....but is there at OTC pill to give that stimulates appetite? I'm a senior and on a fixed income and whatever I planned for yrs ago...the economy is 'eating' up! who knew? who could have planned....anyway, anything OTC available. The current vet gave me that 'cream' NOT cost effective for me....for starters....at 15 I want my cat comfortable.....thanks

Believe it or not it can be done by using very small cup, similar to what some places offer condiments in, or very small plastic cup, about 2" tall. My cat's litter box is in bathroom a few feet ahead of my toilet. As my cat headed to the bathroom I grabbed the cup and sat on toilet watched my cat move around and finally got into position to urinate. My cat's back was towards Mr he positioned himself with hovering slightly with his rear a few inches above the litter, without him noticing me I slipped cup and caught his urine stream with no problem. Sample was then drawn into a syringe, placed in plastic bag and transported sample in cooler to keep chilled, worked great and I know I can do it again...Bob.

Excellent video! I give my boy fluids every 3 days and he does very well with it. What I’m finding I’m having trouble w/ is the fluid leaking out after giving it to him. I try holding my finger on the injection site but sometimes it doesn’t work. Is there a better technique? How do you keep the fluids from leaking out?
I am just learning this process myself, and have not yet attempted it, but I found a video that may help solve your problem. Apparently it helps to pinch the cat’s skin at the injection site for about 30 seconds after removing the needle. Do you perhaps have a video of a flush being done that one can share with a vet? We recently moved to Malta, but it seems no one on the island has ever done a flush before. I'm sharing the how-to off the manufacturer page with them but would like to also give them a video in hopes that someone will be able to learn, and assist.
Try not to intervene too much but make sure they don't hurt themselves on nearby objects, Comfort and be there for the cat afterwards, Medication is available. Got it thank you, I'm going to be owning two cats at some point in my life and I want to be sure I know what to do in these situations. 💖🐈

I'm not criticizing this app. My dog has gone through three glucose curves using this device and the ease and convenience of it is wonderful however it's designed for a human use. I bought a glucometer designed for dogs. It only took a few days and now it's easy peasy to use. I can also do curves myself now and save money. I'm also more confident about getting more correct readings.

Same. This is his second bag (once a week ). I’m scared and tired of poking him . Since he knows I’m the poker he looks at my every move. When grabbing the skin he jumps off trying to get out of the way. Was able to insert the needle but he couldn’t be still so the needle fell out . I will try tomorrow again if not the vet tech can do it for $14.
@@stephaniepmarti We ended up moving her to different rooms at different times so when it came time she didnt expect it which seemed to help some. See if you can find someone to hold him since it helped a lot having my wife hold her and it worked best when wife was sitting in a chair but she is a smaller dog (Shih-tzu) and I am not sure how big yours is
I just purchased a vest for post surgical cats that velcros at the back. Also just purchased another sensor only this time CVS used a coupon so it was $30.00 instead of $80.00. I need to ask them why they didn't do that the other 2 times we did pay $81.00 for it BTW I had purchased a glucometer kit for animals for about $50. and actually ended up sending it back because I could never get blood from his ear or even a footpad! I'll keep you informed when we get this one on.

For smaller dogs, holding them upright during feeding, similar to holding a baby, can also help. 8. After feeding, it's often recommended to keep the dog in an upright position for 10 to 15 minutes. This can be achieved using baby carriers, customized carriers, or a Bailey chair for larger dogs. 9. To keep the dog entertained and prevent aversion to this new feeding regime, it's important to find ways to stimulate them during this time. 10. Depending on the dog's condition, multiple smaller meals a day may be recommended, or a more normal feeding regime may be advised. 11. If a dog coughs or splutters during feeding, it's best to stop immediately and contact your vet. 13. Hand-feeding may be recommended for some dogs, as it allows for better control over the speed of feeding and the dog's position. 14. Your vet will discuss the best feeding regime for your dog, which may include the use of chairs, upright feeding, hand-feeding, and specific types of food. 15. That's just too slow for my cat. I was hoping to find something that injects alot quicker. I've only been at this 3 weeks and the cat is starting to refuse (or at least give a hard time) about injection time.

It doesn’t work well with my cat. I increased doses but he is still gets very scared. He breads very fast with an opened mouth and keeps on screaming. He gets very tired from this and sleeps awhile, but with a very high heat beats. Im having a 7 hours flight and I myself am so scared cuz of my cat’s reaction. Not sure if I have to give him the medicine a day before and the day of the trip !?
