Here’s an honest review for the Kayak2Fish nextgen 11.5 from a recent customer. My dad is recently retired and bought the nextgen 11 a few months ago. On 9 September 2022, he purchased a nextgen 11.5 from the Perth Kayak2Fish store in Bibra Lake so that my siblings and I could go out paddling with him. We have taken it out 3 times since it was purchased, each time we have gone inside the Ocean Reef marina for about an hour. Every time we have taken the kayak out something has broken. Our first issue with the kayak when we unwrapped it was that the pole at the base of the seat was too long and did not fit into the kayak. We did a good once over on the kayak and tightened up any loose screws/bolts as recommended by Kayak2Fish. The first time we used the kayak the supplied paddle snapped in half from slow, easy paddling. Dad contacted Kayak2Fish and they agreed to replace the half of the paddle that had snapped but made him pay $20 postage as we are “outside the metro area”. This is complete nonsense, we are 15min from Perth CBD. We still have not received the replacement half of the paddle. The second time we used the kayak we noticed that the plastic casing that holds the peddle drive system was cracked and flooded with water. Dad contacted Kayak2Fish and they originally agreed to replace it and then went back on their word. We are still waiting for this issue to be resolved. The third time we used the kayak, the peddle drive system broke, dad is contacting Kayak2Fish about it shortly. When we returned from the 3rd trip, we gave the kayak a good look over to check for any more issues. The screws that hold the front hatch onto the kayak were half hanging out of the frame. We tried to tighten the screws but the hole is stripped and the screws are free spinning inside them. I am extremely disappointed by the quality of this kayak and do not think that these issues are reasonable considering the kayak costs over $2000. I am also frustrated and angry at the poor customer service provided by Kayak2Fish. The website promises a 5 year warranty for the nextgen 11.5. If these issues are not resolved by the end of the week, I intend to lodge a complaint with the ACCC. Based on my recent experience, I do not recommend purchasing the Nextgen 11.5 or purchasing from Kayak2Fish in general.

Hi Jack, We are sorry to hear your Dad is having troubles. Allow us to address each point. Unfortunately, during the shipping process the kayaks can get a little compressed which all that is required to fix this is to leave it in the hot sun for a day or so. The paddle is on its way and was shipped 1 business day after the photos of damage were received. Upon checking the tracking number it appears the ETA for the paddle is the 3/10/22. We are unsure where you have gotten this $20 delivery figure from for the replacement paddle. We have no record of ever charging shipping for the replacement paddle. We do unfortunately have to charge shipping for delivery to Perth in most cases as the accessories often come from our main Sydney warehouse as covered under our shipping policy. After your father expressed his concerns with our solution we had no issues replacing the pedal pod for him at no cost as discussed in the latest email chain. The front hatch is not a screw but a bolt and should have a nut on the underside. Please check for the bolts and if you are missing them please email us and we will be able to send replacements for you free of charge. We do understand how you could be frustrated with these issues, but I assure you we will uphold our warranty as written in our warranty policy. - Todd G

Hi James, The Maxdrive is slighty different to the NG11 and has a different mounting system.
so gooood
Hi, they are one of the fast selling models.
I love mine
We hope you have a great time out on the water!
Great video and it is obvious you have done that before, water as flat as a pancake, however I would love to see you try that on the sea!
Our kayaks are best suited for lakes, rivers, dams, estuaries and harbours. They are not ocean kayaks.
When might the 11.5 pedal assist kayak be available. I see this was initially previewed in you tube as a pre production months ago. Any updates..
Our first shipment will be arriving in Sydney in early July. Unfortunately we do not have a solid time line for the other warehouses
@@Kayaks2FishAU Am in Adelaide and dependent on pricing will be looking at ordering as soon as I can. Hopefully they will not be too much more than the nextgen 11 Thanks, Alby Q
Are these available in the U.S.?
Unfortunately, we do not ship outside of Australia.
What's the rough price range?
You will be looking at just under $2000
@@Kayaks2FishAU Sweet. Thanks
Has anyone done a stability on it any KZread video? Want to know how it goes on salt water?
Hi Joseph, we have not done any stability videos for the NextGen 11.5.
Do you have a video showing how to install the trolling motor on this kayak?
Hi Danny, We have an installation video on our website under kayak videos in the other tab of the home page.
Looks good, I bought the next gen 11 last September and its pretty good, but i might upgrade to the 11.5, I like the fact that the steering control is on the left hand side( im cacky handed lol)
Hi, The NextGen 11.5 kayaks are now on Sale. Have you already got one?
@@Kayaks2FishAU nah not yet,
@@Kayaks2FishAU what's the price atm?
The NextGen 11.5 kayaks are now sold for $2199.
i am impressed as a avid Pa owner this kayak looks the goods i did a review on the 11 on my youtube page too my only question is easy accessable rod storage options for this
The NextGen 11.5 kayaks does come with 2 in built rod holders behind the seat. You can also purchase additional rod holders and fix on the side tracks.
Can you guys make a video on how to install a fish finder on the nextgen 9 and how to install a transducer onto a nextgen 9
We will look into it for you!
@@Kayaks2FishAU thanks heaps!!
don't expect those plastic "locking nuts" at 0:49 to last long. Should be made out of aluminium!
Hi Lucas, We have since replaced the plastic locking levers with a much more sturdy option.
@@Kayaks2FishAU are they available for purchase for ppl who bought the old model?
I’m going to pick up a next gen 9 from you guys but I wanted to know if there’s any laws on tying them to the roof of your car
Sorry for the delay in getting back. Hope you had got in touch with the warehouse and transported the kayak safely. It is always recommended to have some proper padding between the kayak and the roof rack while transporting.
Well damn ... now I need to explain to the missus why I need to sell my Eagle so I can buy this new 11.5. It's basically everything I wanted in one package and looks schmick!
Good Luck!
How much?
Hi Josh, sorry for the delay in getting back, the NextGen 11.5 kayaks are now sold for $2199 on Sale.
Are these available in store to buy on the day.
They are picked up at warehouses wrapped in plastic. I bought 1 and never had any problems, but mates of mines claim they had problems!
Hi David, sorry for the delay in getting back. Have you already got the NextGen 11.5?
just took out my triton on the weekend for its first shakedown loved everybit of it only thing I noticed was its not the most aerodynamic n takes a bit to get going but very happy fishing trip 2moro morning all packed n ready to go 👌👌👌
Thanks for the feedback.
That kayak but without the peddle hole so it’s basically a paddle kayak would be a tops idea
We are working on a design for a storage box that could be used instead of the pedals.
Can you get the upgraded maxdrive lock or the ng11?
The current design will allow for the NG11 to be upgraded to the new locks.
Are they available to order now?
When are they coming
We currently do not have a date for them but we will let you know as soon as we do!
