Ever since leaving the EU single market, even originally imported beers are now brewed in one of the big UK breweries. Its no longer worth the cost to import since they all have to have import certs, go through checks etc. They all have that underlying chemically and nasty taste. Budweiser once smooth is now awful. Leffe, my favourite is a personal tragedy. Absolutely awful. My favourite beer is Franciskaner, an import, smooth German wheat beer. £3 a bottle though. 😱

Luv this.. Hate the fact that the labelling gives the impression of that country of origin. That they all use the same ingredients HFCS is about getting the cheapest and most abundant sweetener available. These are produced in a handful of mega-English Breweries. Up the cooperations. Cheers

Moving beer from one country to another is basically a stupidly waste of energy, its 97% to 94% water, theres nothing magical , its the ingredients and process that makes it good or bad , so brewing it in uk really makes no difference
@yesihavereadit8 сағат бұрын
These beers have been brewed in the uk for over 50 years at least. Holsten was brewed by watneys mortlake, as was carlsberg Fosters then budweiser.

These aren't beers, they are UK mineral waters. When you see scaffolders on a hot day picking up a four pack at Tesco at 8 in the morning, you can be assured these drinks are HSE approved.

"Fake": EXACTLY. British industrial brewers' business model is - take a continental beer, import for a while, then start faking it instead. SCUM. (Does not apply to US trash - and Australian lager is a horror story.)

Since watching your reviews on KZread I have stopped drinking the watery so called lagers and am totally converted to Weissbiers and Belgian blonde beers , of which Bornem is one of my favourites. I cannot believe I have wasted so much time and money on poor quality, flat mass produced ,pish, lagers when these gems were available.
